As an native English speaker, i feel like we speak in the subjunctive most of the time. The way Spanish courses are set up, this topic is advance. I think it should be taught much earlier bc not knowing this mood has stunted my growth in Spanish. Thanks to you, i can grow in the language

Paula, You are the best! I have been trying to learn spanish for some 3 months now, and have tried a few online options. Although some of them are not bad, yours is by far the best: Clarity of explanation and talking slowly so I can pick up the right accent, etc. If you want a suggestion (and it is easier said than done)... - you could assemble and organize the material so a learner can follow the sequence starting from ground zero. Gracias por su tema en que ensenas espanol, la velocidad entre tu y 7 anos de los demas es bastante. no importa perdi tiempo, es que queria aprender y ese cambio desde ingles para espanol no llego. aunque me hace falta tanto, los detalles, la claridad.. eso.. sabes que escuche no se pues 7000 horas y no entendi mas de 20 por ciento.... sin subtitulas.. con usted 99.999 poor ciento entendi.. profesora(o) no es algo aprendes es regalo de un talento dios que los da. para mi descubri usted tan tardó pero para mi estoy agredecido en que este rompedecabesas por fin poc a poco estan dando ganas de como un rio fluyendo juntisismo.. no se si se un buen idea pero hablas mucho sobre las reglas en cada frase... pero no se como saber cual es o sea con todo con claridad .... cuando un frase acabar y otro comenzo.. pues espanol ufff es venus y ingles no se martes no.. pluto creo que si.. polos opuestsos... me cuesta mucho para muchas cosas y que me no entiendo que construyir paragrafos buenos... por que ejemplo espanol es.... primero frase la segunda que cortas todos para pronombres por fin gracias a usted entiendo mejor.. pero espanol no es un frase... es que no se 3 o 10 frases para comunicarse que quiere decir coon alguien.. me entiendes? mira esbrir tantos palabras creo que podrias cortar, por lo menos a mitad para darle la misma informacion. me gustaria mejor estructura para cambiarme tema de pensar.. ejemplo en ingles.. tenemos clases para recursos.. para no solo eniciar escribiendo que ojala que se va bien. we use outline basis to get the big picture before we start writing, to start off a paragraph or idea one is trying to express, we are taught to not repeat like in espanol but it means to put that topic, idea in its own sentence but making sure it flows, perdon i am not fluent in grammar but the concept i understand to start and let go my heart in expression.... but know i must tie it together in the journey and hopefully smoothly tie it all together in the end. ( understanding in inges we cannot repeast words or we sound uneducated and we are made fun discredited with the intent not mattering, so we use moooooore words, more sentences where as espanol mcho menos..or to say yo can write a million words in english and keep peoples attention... cañon.... en espanol losing people at every turn.. until there is no one left) so without losing sentido como espanol aun yo no lo ocupo.. tengo ganas de pero ni ...... idea como. entonces si puedes ayudar pues n se soy y lo unico con esta pedo de la cabeza pero asi lo tengo. me ayudas? creo que se me doy un ejemplo de que me hace falta en este commentario. es que tengo mucho vergenza a hablar y cauntos personas se van a leer eso... hicole..pero bueno, la ansiedad en publico con los demas fuera gente que me naci me da incapaz a superarlo en espanol. entonces disculpa es que soy yo un virgo, detallista que los demas nos odian pero es mi reporte y tambien todo la verdad en que estoy pidiendo ayudarme por fa!vor...... ay.. y pido una disculpa a usted porque la ingles que me puse pues... no sale como queria en este camino de llegar fluido a su idioma. muchas gracias por todos los videos y mas en que se pone mucho corazon prestas mucha atencion en las detalles, que hacen falta mucho en la vida hoy.

Excellent video! However, wouldn't normal indicative use of querer fall into the explanation of being uncertain? Or would that be because the infinitive would always follow quiero so it won't be conjugated anyway?

first let me start by saying that i'm studying spanish, and of course I'll learn the language as it exists. however....with that being said... there are many parts of spanish which rely on context, and it does so without an issue. The verbs being a perfect example. while you can say "tú hablas....", it is far more common to say "hablas...." because the verb tells us which personal pronoun is being used. For the same reason, the subjunctive mood is not needed.... (linguistically speaking) because the structure of the sentence already provides the context to tell the listener what is the intention of the speaker to communicate. While this might not be as obvious to a person who learned spanish as their primary language, it is glaringly obvious to someone learning spanish as a secondary language. But as I said.... it is what it is and we'll learn the language as it exists. EDIT: I wanted to add..... you're a wonderful teacher and have explained this topic incredibly well.
