This is the most in depth video regarding Frank Ocean recently. I personally think he’s going to scrap the project due to his brothers passing or release the project as an EP.

We’re not gonna get another album for a while his brother recently died so don’t expect anything soon but if a album does come out in the future it’s gonna be good and it’s gonna hurt

I used to work in the music industry last year, I visited a studio in Burbank where a friend of mine who recently signed a publishing deal was working with an engineer who was working on mixing and mastering most of these tracks that you are speaking of. Yes all of your predictions are correct, but that was last year at the end of 2019, almost a year ago. Obviously a lot as happened since then and I’m not exactly sure if the album is still going to drop in the way it was previously planned to be. Honestly I feel like everything‘s changed ever since his brother died

Given the whole "unconventionally-releasing-new-music theory," I think the A24 film that he is currently working to direct might be a way for Frank to drop new music. Given Frank's film taste, it would not be a leap to expect a dark, fantasy-like arthouse or emotionally-driven movie bundled with an original soundtrack from Frank.
