I was homeschooled my entire time as a kid, my parents had recently blocked me from using my phone and laptop and every other electronic in the house and I couldn’t leave to hang out anywhere either. This was all because they found out I was in a long distance relationship (that situation has multiple stories of its own, me and her lasted only a day but we’re still close homies.) I did all my school papers on that laptop, but because I had it taken away I had to had handwrite my paper. I was up late af working on it and it wasn’t ever good enough. The last time I gave it to her she told me it was horrible and my handwriting was terrible, kept comparing me to others and saying I was worse than a toddler (note that literally every other time I’ve had to write in public and finally did classes with other students I was told I had great handwriting and was way smarter than I lived my life hearing.) and told me to do it over. It was about 1 am by this time, I heard her say all that bs and I go “I’ll fuckin finish it tomorrow then cause Its late”. After that my mum got up and started to swing towards me so I grabbed her wrists and resisted, she pulled me off my chair and fell backwards and yelled “you fucking pushed me!” Got up and tried kicking me, but missed, then grabbed a tote and threw it at me. My dad called right after and she put on this whole sobstory about how I was swearing at her and hit her, I shout “I ain’t do shit you’re the one that insulted me and put your hand to my face, I blocked and you fell over.” My dad bein the cocksucker he is just ignores everything I had to say and listens to her word only (well… only when she’s starting problems with the kids, any other time they hate each other.)

When i tell you i almost became an orphan that day.. everything changed in that moment , and i never felt so angry and disgusted at the same time. She knew she messed up when she did that too saying she didn't mean to, but still trying to deflect accountability. Ah. I also remember the last day my mom whooped me. Was in the 8th grade for being a few minutes late for school (an extremely rare occurrence for me). She was hitting me on my way trying to get to the door to leave, and idunno what came over me…but I just…started laughing. I realize now it’s because after so many whoopins, they start to lose their effect and didn’t hurt as much anymore. Didn’t hurt that was about the year I got bigger than my mom too. Will never forget the look on her face when I laughed. So there’s something to try for those of you still getting whoopins for stupid little reasons. Laugh, stand there straight faced, do (or don’t do) whatever to show them that it doesn’t phase you. Might help. They want a reaction….that’s why they do it…they want to take their anger out on you and to wreck you emotionally at that moment in time so you outwardly feel like shit too, in retaliation for what you did (or didn’t do). If you don’t give them that…then most likely they won’t see the point in doing it anymore. It’s often not about discipline or “for your own good”. It’s about their own emotional immaturity.

This happened to me once, my uncles knew my mom lied because I explained how we got into an argument on how she wanted her dishes put away,( I know right, really stupid) but they knew I'd harm any man that hit her way worse in return, but after we talked they just hit me in my chest 1 time to show her it she had "control" and called it a day, they also explained to her that she can't put her hands on her 16 year old son becoming a man.

This is NOT how it went for me! My mom got mad at me for something and tried to smack me. I didn't want to get hit, so instinctually, I put my hand up and blocked it. She said "Oh you wanna block shit now?" So she told me keep my hands at my side and to come closer. She punched me so hard in the chest I fell back and hit my back against the corner end of my bedframe. I was 15 years old, on the ground, coughing and wheezing at the same time! I can't even remember why she tried to smack me in the first place!

Listen to this, I got a whooping one day and I blocked the belt like this, she continued to whoop my ass, cool cool right. Well later on, I hear her on the phone, she told all types of family members I was crazy and tried to fight back so now she scared to go to sleep at night. I WAS IN DISBELIEF to what I heard. My moms end up handing me the phone my dad, aunties, and uncles was literally threatening my well being cause they thought I was beating my moms on a supposedly daily basis. The biggest cap I had ever heard in my entire life. Since my dad was deployed he couldn't come home till 5 months later, and when I thought everything was cool, he whooped my entire ass, made me clean the outside trash, and all baseboards, as well as the rest of the house that whole week, I damn near ran away from that mf😂😂😂

As someone who's been falsely accused of violence for situations where I've done nothing more than stop the blows raining down on me from multiple exes, This made me laugh and angry at the same time. Im so beyond fucking tired of the societal level of gaslighting men face when false accusations are brought up. Whether it's DV, SA, abuse, God forbid shinade up that you did to a child, it is NOT "rare" and it is "NOT" something that almost never happens. False accusations are straight up COMMON. For fucks sake, there's a literal published book called DAMN that stands for destroy a man now that painstakingly details how best to weaponize false accusations.. Not only are the women who make them seldom ever punished at all, they are flat out _incentivized_ to do so with monetary, legal, social and even parental rewards..
