This is a very serious review of the cuisinart RBT1350pc etc toaster. I'm just surprised at how many things slipped by designers and engineers. I've use two of these for the past couple years, and my review is accurate to both of them, so it is unlikely to be a quality control issue. If it was QC, then that would also be a reason to not buy.

I tried adding an amazon affiliate link in the description for the meme, but unfortunately amazon for some reason doesn't think I qualify as an influencer. Please subscribe so I can do it for my next appliance review.

Everytime a designer doesn't give you a red option and/or a "stealth" option to turn it off, a kitten gets pushed off a cliff into a woodchipper. Think of the kittens.

@@joewoodchuck3824 Blue light ruins night vision and is one of the primary reasons for eye strain with extended computer use. As a result, unlike red LEDs which don't stimulate your retina as much in the dark, blue LEDs are almost impossible to ignore. I use self-adhesive dark tint film to cover blue LEDs. You can still see the light, but it isn't blinding when you're playing games with no lights on, just the monitors.

@@kdawson020279 You're correct in principle and there are places blue light shouldn't be used, but the small amount of light from such an item as a toaster is too small for it to affect night vision. Let's face it. You just dislike the color blue.

Best toaster ever made was an early to mid 1960's Sunbeam. Take care of them and they last longer than a lifetime.

I'm always leery of new appliances, because I know they likely won't be as reliable as whatever they're replacing.

@@3DegreesOfTheo Rule of thumb - NEVER buy anything that has electronics in it if at all possible. Mechanical is generally the most reliable.

@@crazysquirrel9425 Which is dumb because the whole idea of electronics is that there's little to no moving parts to make them more reliable and last longer, yet they scrape the bottom of the barrel for every last penny making them complete garbage

15 buttons and two dials. mine? you plug it in and watch by folding the little doors on the side down, then turn the bread over... a century of toasting and its still on its original elements.

Dude the bagel mode using outward-facing elements is so you don't get a huge buildup of heat along one element plate, the toaster lasts longer if it spreads the heat load out across two plates.
@3DegreesOfTheo

Is that build up of heat any more than standar mode with both sides heating?
@SquillagusNiggle

@@3DegreesOfTheo Doesn't really matter, if it can be avoided then it should be avoided to reduce the wear on the parts. But we don't know the temperature of the elements in bagel mode compared to normal mode either so it could be different.

The angst about which way to position the bagel is so silly. Just follow directions and live your life as if this isn't important. Geeze.
