Adding modern flares to older buildings like solar panels is actually realistic. Building owners will maintain and update older buildings as much as possible, because that's much cheaper than building a whole new building. This style of building in Paris is called "Haussmannien" (Haussmannian if you make a English version). it was the style chosen by the Baron Haussmann that was in charge of the transformation of Paris during the second empire (1853-1870). this transformation was kind of necessary since there was a lot of medieval streets and it didn't help the transportation and delivery of good after/during industrialisation. They created big streets by literally destroying old building. One of the most iconic streets if you want to see Haissmannian style is Rivoli Street which starts at la bastille, is adjacent to the Louvre, les halles and ends at the tuileries garden.
