For sure. I had a friend of six years (known him since freshman year of college) and at the end of last year, I realized I developed feelings for him and confessed on January of this year. It went downhill from there because he didn't reject me at the moment, started lying to me about how he felt about the situation, I realized how shitty the people he hung out with were, etc... I didn't realize how immature, avoidant and slightly sexist he was till then. It's been two weeks since I stopped talking to him (we hung out often and texted every day) and it's still painful. I know it'll get better though, and I'm glad we never became a thing. You never know sometimes 🤷🏽‍♀️
