I feel like the game does not do a particularly good job of pointing out the vows even exist. And this player only had the vows they start with (repanse gets all of hers from the start, and Mogen gets the first by default). My guess is when you opened the vow tab it was news to this player. I only noticed it when watching you play Bretonnia (luckily I had never play the Brets myself or I would have likely had the same problem this guy did).

CA need to add a end of turn reminded to get Vows for Brettonia. Its so easy to forget

Can we talk about how amazing of a legendary lord Repanse is. For three quarters of the battle was surrounded by infantry and was fighting a lord and was winning for half of it and never began losing the battle

I've never seen anyone run a whole army of Knights Errant lol that cant be an efficient strat. I wouldnt be seen dead without some peasants to hold them in place while I "courageously" charge them from behind 24 times.

Legend, do you have, like, a rundown of tips/tricks for starting out or the like? A 'What to do and definitely NOT do' list? Big fan of the vids, but still feel like there's probably some key aspects I (and I'm guessing other inexperienced players) are missing out on. (I have no aspirations to play on Legendary or anything, but the tips and tricks like dealing with sieges, for instance, have been mega useful :) )

I'd personally use smaller groups on the fly when you split them up to help with the micro, but other than that great video and commentary. Especially loved the humble admission that you have done some of these stuff yourself while learning, who hasn't :D

reminds me of my old campaign with partia in original Rome, the greek cities turned into a masive powerhouse sending full stack after full stack. The mountain passes were littered with heroic victories. First time I learned there is a limit to how many heroic victories the campaign map can show at any given time. Danged armoured hoplites

I recently picked up WH2 again after a hiatus and I made that exact same mistake with the errant knights on my Repanse de Lyonesse campaign. I hadn't heard about the reworked vow system and literally just overlooked that big fat button in the lord skill UI. Luckily, I was only overpaying for 4 errant knights, but I still feel this guy's pain lol.

On turn 100 of a Bretonnain campaign, never even knew there was vows!😅 Video helped before you even started with the useful info.

TIL: 1 month after finishing the Countess campaign on max difficulty by doomstacking every enemy army in a painful slow manner: there is vows.

Noob like me can never figure out how you can have more than 4k income though carrying 2 full stack armies, that cost almost 20k upkeep.

I’ve never known why when fighting battles, especially stacks like this, they don’t have 4-5 groups. That would be so much easier for targeted approaches and minimal casualties

I get what they were possibly going for with the cavalry, but that strategy only works if the enemy is going to be easily broken and has a spot in the center you can reliably break. Which means they need a massive weak spot where they should be strongest. Basically your goal with a massive cavalry unit when going up against infantry is to slam into the center of the formation and break through. You then send your horses to slam into the sides of nearby enemies while having the ones that broke through slam into the backs of the enemies in order to cause a mass panic as units begin breaking all over the center of the enemies formation. I actually used this tactic in my current campaign in Rome: Total War against the Julli. So this tactic can work on normal difficulty fairly easily if the enemy is largely packing light infantry and skirmishers. Even so, I really wouldn't recommend relying on this strategy since it can be easily screwed over if the enemies have high morale or if the AI has a large number of units wielding spears.

After a couple of minor uprades, the Nehekara warriors actually do the same damage, if not more than skeleton spearmen with their bonus to large against cav etc.
