Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are 2022 role-playing video games developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company for the Nintendo Switch. They are the first instalments in the ninth generation of the Pokémon video game series. First announced in February 2022, they were released on 18 November 2022.
Unlike the previous instalments in the Pokémon franchise, Scarlet and Violet take place in an open world. The games take place in the Paldea region, based on the Iberian Peninsula. There are three separate stories the player can follow. Scarlet and Violet introduce 110 new Pokémon, alongside two new regional forms. Also introduced are time-displaced creatures known as Paradox Pokémon, and the Terastal phenomenon, which allows a Pokémon to transform into its exclusive "Tera Type". The games maintain features from previous modern Pokémon games, including large open areas and Pokémon appearing in the overworld.

To my knowledge, Wes is not a trainer who uses Vaporeon canonically, however does he have an Umbreon and an Espeon as his first two Pokémon in Colosseum, one could reason he might come from a family of Eevee keepers/breeders or perhaps just has an affinity for them. But really, it’s Michael from Pokémon XD gale of darkness who uses the starter Eevee, although he seems to be too young to make the joke work.

I once did a raid with people, it was a Normal Tera Coalossal. Someone was constantly spamming fire attacks against it despite it having Flash Fire.

Yeah...I'm convinced some people join raids just to troll or because they think 6+ star raids are going to be as easy as the E4. I actually had to cancel a few randoms because I could tell the people bringing in certain pokemon didn't have a clue what they were doing, but don't discount everyone, as sometimes people brought something really unorthodox and would use a strat that demolishes the opponent despite being double weak.

Most raids are like that, but man, sometimes you get some amazing players. Had a match where I saw someone playing with a Polteageist that had Weak Armor, he then used Skill Swap followed by Trick Room and Light Screen with the occasional Strength Sap. TL;DR: Build Polteageist 252 HP/252 DEF +DEF -ATK @Leftover (or Assault Vest if not running Strength Sap) - Skill Swap - Strenght Sap - Light Screen/Reflect - Trick Room

Those are the GOATS you really want. the players that REALLY know what they're doing. The one that you're like "Why you bringing THAT, it's not strong aga...OH....." Had a player bring in something and use Taunt, and the DRagonite couldn't use dragon dance. That taunt might as well have been the only move he used cause it was the MVP. The dragonite couldn't do ANYTHING to us.

I haaaaaate it when people go into a tera raid just because it is a type they like, bring in something to beat the tera, but the base Pokemon annihilates their pokemon. Its even worse when they bring a Pokemon that has no reason being there for that type. Example, I fucking hate it when I see a hard as shit Flygon raid that is, say, Flying tera type, then you got smooth brains bringing Iron Hands. Bringing an Electric type, against a base Ground type. Especially with Belly Drum. Its even fucking worse when the Iron Hands stans try using Drain Punch on Pokemon that resist it. It is more annoying than when nobody on your raid team brings a move that lowers the Tera stats or buffs themselves or your own.

I ain’t gonna lie that’s how it felt when I was taking on unrivalled greninja and mewtwo, you’ll have 2 trainers that know the assignment and ready to box alongside your maxed out mon but then you got that one person who has a super under levelled Pokémon that gets one tapped harder than yamcha does and despite being so close, it’s that one trainer that costs you sweet victory

I ended up being that one trainer in one of those Mewtwo battles but that battle at least taught me what I should be doing. It was what I needed to figure out the strategy to beating Mewtwo and improve significantly at Tera raids in the long run.

I kept seeing all-Mew teams _(I used my own for the Luster Candy + Doping on my tech build)_ but hilariously enough the attempt where I *SUCCEEDED* had someone bring a semi-troll Umbreon - Semi-troll because in lieu of taking Psystrikes, you were taking double Aura Sphere damage, which ... after some math, wasn't quite as bad as HTP Psystrike.

Gotta re roll for the good ones. Those that poison are absolutely useless. Paralysis and burn are good, but intimidate is the best (if physical). I hear Gardevoire can heal pulse you...but they usually die, and Arboliv is nice with the healing but cursed as every time it shows up, my friend and I always lose badly. XD not cause of the healing, but usually some weird glitch happens for some reason.

I feel kind of bad for the people that had to deal with me going into raids trying to use my shiny Mightyena. I really tried to make her work with mudslap, crunch, howl and rest but results were still pretty average at best. Even a cheesy strategy can only go so far with those stats.

You might be able to pull it off by taking as long as you can between moves (before it automatically makes you use one), and then just have Protect and Substitute... Defense cheer when you can, have Intimidate and Leftovers... If you are capable of taking some immediate hits (bc of teammates Defense cheering and Reflecting for you), you could help with a Turn 1 Taunt, then Charm. These moves do not work while the boss is shielded, though. This is all assuming your teammates can carry you and aren't insane, though they probably are if the raid was still started after seeing Mightyena.

@@countdudoo Most of the time they don't seem to care what you bring. A few players would leave or hesitate to select that they were ready upon realizing I was seriously going to try and use Mightyena but it wasn't too difficult to get a raid going even when I wasn't the host. The issue was a lack of consistency. When it worked it felt great but all it took was a few bad rolls from the rng to decide my fun was over. I won a lot with her but I lost a lot too. To be fair not all those losses were my fault. Though the fact I unironcally got Mightyena to do anything useful in a few 5 to 6 star raids is a small personally victory of mine but you'll be happy to hear she's not my main go to for said raids. Just something I wanted to try out to challenge myself. My main would be Mew.

It's good to bring a dedicated support, someone to focus on healing and debuffing like mudslap, and doing defense cheer, but you really want to make sure your moves ALL focus on support or stalling. Howl only raises your own attack, Crunch may get a lucky def drop but it's rare, and Rest... Mightyena isn't built for tanking really so unless you pump EVs into defenses, it'll probably be moot. Still Mudslap is a top tier move. Accuracy debuffs can really save a team. Really the way you build a Raid mon is very different from how you'd build a normal team, so don't be afraid to have nothing but support moves, even Leer or growl is good until they put the shield up.

@@MarioMastar Howl raises the Attack of you and all of your allies. It really is that good, generally. However, here, the only DPS of consideration are Special Attackers and Iron Hands, who uses Belly Drum to max out anyway. Can't wait to have a Coaching mon be viable in a 7*. Mud Slap is good, but it's a luxury or a desperation pick after more consistent options. Ramping it up is harsh at just 1 accuracy drop per turn. 2 mons spamming it is fine. Mightyena is not a self sustaining DPS, so it is forced to play Support. HP and Def specs were always mandatory. But I don't love Rest without Sleep Talk or Early Bird or Shed Skin etc. either way. Charm is better Growl also.

Shame you can't see the level of thier pokemon. you only know they're not max EV and IV trained because they die instantly in the raid battle. the Raid mons aren't buffed in any stat but HP so there's no reason anyone should be one shot with a properly raised mon.

The raid was doomed any way because they for got the Blaziken is a flying Tera type. Vaporeon isn’t that bad. But it is weak against physical attackers like Blaziken.

Yeah I tried looking at Glaceon who has good physical defense, but wasn't sure how to buff it. I considered Avalugg with Own Tempo and my partner would use Swagger to max my attack, then I'd spam avalanche to get that base 120 ice move while Blaziken sped up, but in the end Bellibolt solos Blaziken and I was WAY overthinking how hard Blaziken would be.

I used a support malamar with contrary and swagger to counter all of that. Turn 1 skill swap contrary, and yes it will still use at least 1 SD and 1 BU while it has contrary. Use swagger hopefully before your teammates force the shield bit at least use reflect and blaziken is hitting like a plush doll before it resets its stats

I always used eeveelutions for raids. My umbreon can take on pretty much anything because of how tanky her defense and special defenses are, and my vaporeon self sustains with the amount of hp she has. Then I just run light screen/reflect, or subsitute plus aqua ring. With the right set up they're like tiny power houses. Umbreon's also the cutest eeveelution imo

Something I realized after having felt like a deadweight Tera Raider a bunch of times, the recent Blaziken Tera Raid included: If you're the type to rely on your teammates going DPS, you should at least be a solid debuffing tank, especially the sort that keeps enemy damage down, so that the time would go down more slowly rather than repeated deaths from the team speeding it up. Now that got me further appreciating Pokemon like Toxapex and moves like Chilling Water and Baneful Bunker. X"D

I realized that even before Blaziken. People often don't give a damn about their own teammates, so I decided "If they're going to be dumbasses who only care about DPS, then I'm going to use them like dumbasses who only care about DPS". Thus, I tend to gather mons with good synergizing strats that help my team and hinder the opponent, without needing to do damage unless possible. For Blaziken, I used Opportunist Aspartha with Reflect, Lumina Crash, and Feather Dance as my strat. Only reason it failed was because the Raid either cheated or my team was doing nothing.

Wes was in fact correct, statistically speaking Vaporeon is the best PKMN for the raid because he can use Rest, Acid Armor, SCALD, and sleep talk. Therefore Wes being an Eevee trainer spoke the truth.

I feel horrible when I'm clearly the player that dragged the whole raid down because I forgot about the boss's base type. I also keep forgetting that, for as overpowered as Ogerpon is, she definitely can't just beat anything and everything(as much as she tries her best to do just that).

Forgetting a type match up until after the raid starts sucks. You look so stupid. On at least three occasions I've forgotten Dark is weak to Bug.

This is why I raise either Solo raidmons, so i can carry randos or I make support/Healer mons that pretty much ensure nobody can ever die as long as I have PP. But if Im raiding with my friends then I cam bring whatever because we gonna smack it in 1-2 hits
