I found this funny because, in part, it makes no sense. He should have said "It acted like an amplifier." After all, an echo is no louder. We laugh because 'cavernous box', not really because the joke makes sense.

I don't know, man... I've watched all the specials available on YT and Netflix. I've watched 8/10 cats does countdown and big fat quizzes. I know pretty much most of the jokes. And yet... I still turn on the compilations and bits and get a laugh out of them. There's something special about the delivery that makes it not enough just to know the joke in your head. I love it that so many are well translatable to my native language so I can pass them on to people who don't know English (not failing to mention the author). Thanks, man! I. E.
