it doesnt need to roar loud like in the movies, it could smell prey probably before the prey knew it was being watched! I wonder if they communicated this way too, like elephants vibrating so low through the whole body into the ground!

@@johnbernhardtsen3008Yeah, T.rex was a hunter, a top predator of our world... a more stealth killer. Tyrannosaurus didn't roar, they didn't want to be spotted while hunting. Even their skeleton allowed them to walk very quietly. Not like in movies where the whole ground shakes :D

@@stacieharris Yes, indeed! I'd say the headphones get you a little closer to the actual experience of "feeling" the sound transmitting at low frequencies. I like the new Rex noises; the near-infrasound is much more effective than than a simple roar.

I hate how unnervingly intelligent it looks. An apex predator hunting me that has a major size difference is already scary, but the idea of it being being significantly intelligent in how it hunts me is what triggers primordial fear.

Yes, for years, I kept hearing about its alleged pea brain size and overall lack of intelligence. While the brain may have been small in comparison to the overall size of the dinosaur, it was still about as large as that of a dog, thereby making it quite an intelligent beast.

But the question is what was the sound when it wanted to communicate with the other animals to warn them. For example elephants are chit chating all the time at low frequencies, but when they territorially defendig themselves they use the classic t(w)ooth sound when english language parents teach the children in the what does the elephant say game. So what was the t.rex "twoot"

Not tones that we can “barely” hear. Low frequency in this case means that if you were to hear it, you wouldn’t be able to tell which direction it was coming from. An animal that large is too big to be too quiet to hear.

Great audio! Some people think that dinosaurs actually didn't have vocal cords, just like crocodiles, so I can confirm, this is accurate. Instead of roaring like in the Jurassic franchise, dinosaurs probably forced air through their lungs to create low frequency sounds that almost aren't able to be heard by humans.

I definitely find this a lot scarier than that of the ones from Jurassic park/world. Like, don’t get me wrong, hearing a loud roar would be terrifying irl but this is even more so. Just imagine being in the woods at night and hearing THIS and it grow ever so closer. Amazing job, can’t wait to play it 😁

I haven't been this excited for a game in a long time. You can tell how much passion is going in to it judging by what's been shown thus far, and I am genuinely hoping you guys are able to deliver both visually (which obviously you're already knocking it out of the park) and mechanically. So many games out there just try to look the most realistic, and then the gameplay is lackluster which is a shame because it negates so much of the hard work that went in to it's making. So I really am crossing my fingers that the devs are able to pull off something that's not only beautiful to look at, but engaging, immersive, and enjoyable to physically play. Keep it up! This is one of my dream games in the making!

Some scientists now believe that if you heard this you would actually be safe, as the rex is most likely not on the hunt. It is believed that the t rex was an ambush hunter, so if it was hunting you, you likely wouldn't have heard it coming.

Absolutely incredible. They probably didn't roar per say but even when crocs are annoyed, or calling for mates I've heard them growl and almost roar and they are cold blooded reptiles... Imagine what a 9ton active warm blooded hunter sounded like when he was pissed! Not like Jurassic Park, but extremely loud I'm sure when needed to. When two males went head to head, I doubt they would be quiet

Most people say they like T-Rex because it's the first dino they think of. I love T-Rex because of what I know about it. It was a great, majestic, and ruling beast. If it were still alive today, everything we know about the natural order would shift. They were some of the smartest and cunning animals we know of They were some of the most powerful beasts we speak of They were also quite majestic and perhaps beautiful like most birds and reptiles. The sounds of there conversations could make your body violently vibrate and shake T-Rex was one hell of an animal.

Sounds ominous and sinister for sure. Infrasound that rumbles your insides and some frequencies have been known to influence your mood. Fear, discomfort, anxiety, etc... There is supposedly even a "brown note" that loosens your bowels. ;)

I don't know how accurate this theory is, but I wonder if mammals have some sort of natural fear of these sounds from so long ago. I've heard cars that have that vibration feeling, and it always puts me on edge when I first hear it. We also tend to put low frequency sounds in horror movies.. hmm

This is the kind of sound that you'd feel more than hear. The kind of sound that would shake you to your core. The kind of sound that would leave a very deep pit in your stomach as you feel the vibrations surge through your body and paralyze you with fear. The kind of sound that'd be the last thing you feel before death itself comes out of those bushes and reaps your body with 60 railroad spikes.
