@@marcusbrann1035I’ve always heard that but I’ve also found the opposite to be true at times. I’ve always had to be better with my muting technique as gain goes up or all the sympathetic vibrations between fretted and open strings show up and I get some sour notes happening, especially if intonation is slightly off as well.

@@eouroshopper4423 Well, Lorna Shore might be a deathcore band, but there's a buttload of metal bands that mix metal with jazz harmony and technique of different varieties. Starting with metal fusion from the likes of Atheist and Cynic, who are directly responsible for the popularity of fretless bass in today's technical death metal, and finishing with whatever the fuck John Zorn had been smoking in his various grind and metal collabs and projects. Can't forget modern metal like Tigran Hamasyan, plus various projects by

@thestonegoose
@thestonegoose 4 ай бұрын
@@KasumiRINAI think it's less hitting the wrong string as it is fingering the notes well to get the not cleanly and evenly compared to other notes, not fumbled together as a sloppy player may do but with the distortion noise the fumble is amongst that noise.

@@squaredcircle1111 Fumbling with distortion sounds very muddy with cringy dissonance. So unless you play in a wall-of-sound band there is nowhere to hide, distortion or not. Nothing as annoying as a muddy fuzz unless that's your thing.

Distortion always exagerrates details, everything becomes much more sensitive. It's harder to play heavely distorted and you have to be more critical to unperfections. Imagine it as crunking sound of everything up.

Even if you don't play that style of music on a regular, you should always have a small tid bit of it in your back pocket. Example, I myself don't usually play classic rock as in more of a slipknot, lamb of god, avenged sevenfold, ect kind of player however it's nice to rip out the back in black intro or even spoke sabbath out. It's just good to have that stuff under your belt, happy playing
