He says sorry because it's not a brilliant move, its a terrible blunder. This is not hard to spot. It's a bad loss for Vidit and his opponent feels for him.

White would have taken on C4 then queen against 3 pieces would be winning for white (before that white would have captured the bishop on f8)

Vidit is so emotional ..he must learn from pragg how to control emotions .. U don't loose when u don't win ,u actually loose when don't move on from table after completing game . No problem .. vidit is main character of Anime 😁 lot's of struggle, crying, bad luck but at the end of the day he kicks out strongest GMs ass from main tournaments ..

There was nothing better he could have done at that point. Being down a rook means it's time to resign, or accept and sacrifice and play on in the small event there is a defensive resource your opponent missed.

Very disappointed the way Vidit played this game ! He was shaky, self doubting not making convincing moves and horribly struggled with time control ! Totally shattered ! 😞

He had a slightly better position the whole game, and he blundered with 10 seconds vs his opponent's 20 seconds... it's blitz so you can expect people to be shaky regardless of their experience.

@@sauron4313 the little knowledge that I have about chess game; Vidit was never better or in commanding position throughout the game ! When his opponent (Amin) offered to sacrifice the queen; it should have rung a bell in Vidit's mind. It was a calculation mistake from Vidit to accept that bet ! But I agree with your point that in 'Blitz games' these kind of errors do happen ! To err is human ! 😊

@@naveenrai4u Vidit's job with the black pieces is to first equalize. Often in top level chess a draw with black is not frowned upon. Vidit accepted the queen kind of in the form of resignation, as I am pretty sure he obviously saw there was no obvious defence.
