Hand work is so important, and our societies have despised hand work for so long, technologies are there to do everything in our place, even thinking.... leaving us totally dependant and stressed out. Working with our hands brings satisfaction, and make us realize the value of things. We forgot that that's why we buy and throw away, buy and throw away..... we have to reteach ourselves!

So true, I became interested in foraging as an adult and went back to the island I'm from that my parents still lived on. I took a hike I'd taken many many time before and was amazed that literally 80% of the plants on the trail were edible (it's a particularly plentiful area though because the indigenous people cultivated it for thousands of years).
