Yup, Jesus said that. He was using hyperbole, but His point was that a lot of materially wealthy people trust in their riches and don't realize their need for God's mercy. And we all do this, regardless of how much money we have. We can't trust in ourselves or our own righteousness to get us into Heaven. It's only by trusting in Jesus and the debt He paid on our behalf. His righteousness does for us what we could never do. And He did it out of love.

Then come follow me.” That was the last thing the young man expected to hear. Basically, the lord Jesus Christ told the rich guy that he should give away all his stuff if he wanted to follow him and enter heaven.

I wasn't expecting to see Motel 6 get mentioned, my mom works at a Motel 6 lol From the nonsense she deal's with working there, It might was well be hell. The last major incident she had to deal with was the reception room flooding because two children in the room above her flooded the bathroom and it leaked down into the walls, spilling out of electric outlets and AC Vents. It was wild.
