I like that you chose to work in a classic Filipino barber shop, rather than a trendy, up-and-coming salon. It was an apt decision that lent itself to an authentic experience in terms of spirit and feeling. And that was a nice, heartwarming anecdote that you shared about cutting your dad's hair. I had a good chuckle. At any rate, I think you did alright for a barber shop assistant on her first day.

salons taking over barber shops in SK is interesting to me. I feel like there was also a time here in PH when salons are became more common and boys were going there instead of barbershops. There used to be like a few men and women salons here in our area. Now I can hardly see one and even if they service men as well, you would rarely find one in them. When classic hairstyles got in trend, so did these newer, better barbershops popped up that offered services at prices slightly higher than normal barber shops. Normal barber shops usually cost around 50 to 100 php and these newer barber shops like Nuevo in your video offers slightly higher prices and they usually have actually trained barbers. I personally go to the latter and have a suki barber ive been going to for the past 3 years.

For the majority of us men, a good haircut makes a HUGE difference. Our Haircut plays one of the biggest roles. Every time I got a Good Haircut, it always makes me feel fresh asf. It boosts my confidence tremendously. It motivates me to dress better and go to the gym more (imagine lifting weights while looking at the mirror and seeing a slick haircut of yours) HAHAHAaaaahh feels good man. It's one of the essential things a gentleman must possess. How someone maintains their hair will tell you a lot about them in those first few seconds. Pero kung ikaw mag gugupit, I'm willing to risk it all. 👨🏼‍🦲😆

Road to 1M. Barber shop, historically, was Filipinos comfort place for men. Here they find news and updates of people and events. Some plays chess or dama (local chess). In our place in Pampanga, the Pangilinan barbershop is even a place for ankle sprain and body pain healing center we call "hilot". It's modernise now but if I can make a business one day, I'll bring back some of my childhood memories. Thanks Jessica for this... GOD bless on road to 1M.

In America the barber shop is pretty much alive. Most NBA super stars and rappers including movie stars prefer to go to barber shops and they have their favorite barber. A few even fly their barber in their private jet to have a haircut. Steph Curry and Lebron James have their barber cut their hair.
