Catherine Piccione Same here but not Italian, a loud Polish household. My dad was a drinker and a yeller so there was always some kind of hollering going on. When I met my late husband's family for the first time we had dinner and it was like eating dinner in a library because everybody was so quiet so it totally threw me off. I miss my husband so much, especially when I need to holler at somebody. Miss you baby 💔

I'm very sorry for your loss. Sometimes my uncle would stop in to wait out rush hour after work and he and my father would get into an animated discussion. If my friends were over they'd ask why my father & Uncle were yelling at each other 😄😄. I'd have to explain that that's just the way they talked.

Italians were considered non white when they arrived here due to being catholic and speaking a different language. They also called the Irish “non white” for this very same reason .
