Andrea Pajuelas to be fair the production aspect isn’t something he would be really involved in, he trusts Diplo and Skrillex to do it. He and his co-writer wrote the lyrics, came up with the melody, and he sang it. Bieber was trying his best but this series wasn’t really made for interviewing the singer and writers, the production is the big focus.

its crazy because bieber changed the whole industry. with this song and his purpose album, he brought electro and electro dance music into the pop industry. i remember all artists doing the same thing after bieber did this. because most pop music was NOT like that. and it became mainstream. what a chance and risk to take, but wow he pulled it off incredibly. and of course also into randb with his other songs on the album. love his music!

Hi Jerome, I think Biebs was just making a figurative reference to the quality of sound textures in the piece. He made this description because producers want to create and choose sounds that will make them money. Sounds of this type are simply novel and have creative appeal. Is there a draw for "expensive sounding" production in the music industry?

Ok, for all these people that are hating on the “expensive sound” thing, Bieber is kinda right. The softwares that they use are expensive, buying new things to do and mess around with cost money. Skrillex actually bought a new messing around with thing just for this song. He’s kinda right but I mean, kinda wrong because the software and thingymajiggers are expensive, not the actual sound.
