Tonned coins have fascinated me for year's, especially the ones like the Kennedy half dollar you showed, I would love to own a full rainbow like tonned coin, just beautiful!

I saw one girl that had 500 toned coins that looked like paint on them. I made an offer on an 1878 cc fake toned coin and she turned it down.

Interesting topic. Scott Travis wrote about the subject a lot, too. Originally toned coins are getting harder to find.

I just picked up a nicely toned Morgan, what's the best way to store it? I use nonplasticized flips for most of my coins because I like to take them out once in awhile, but would that wear off the toning? Would a cardboard flip or air tite be better?

I'll have to remember to start saving the toned ones, I've tossed a few back in the bin to go back to the bank. If I get some I'm not sure of, I'll join the community and submit some photos.

thanks for the informative video about toning, but I must tell you that I was very excited to see the brochure you used to explain toning effects because I was born in New Rochelle and, as a new collector, I did not know that my city had such a commemorative. I am going to search for it.

I came across a copper toned 1972 half yesterday and wondered if it’s naturally toned. I’m off now to bury some worthless foreign coins in the park across the street. I like to watch the coin shooters find them as I’m washing dishes.

A majority of the modern coins today showing rainbow toning are artificially toned. My opinion.

An artificially "toned" coin is worthless to serious collectors. They are relatively easy to spot if you study the field. Professional grading companies will guarantee naturally toned coins when. they slab & grade them. Therefor artificially toned coins are easy to avoid.

picked up a 1881CC in a gsa holder that has toning,even looks like some of the canvas bag pattern transferred onto her cheek and head,was a good price so i took a chance on it love Morgans especially CC

Great video! the first video I've seen that talks about what I've discovered being a new collector. COLOR. my favorite coins are the bluish Lincoln cents. the safest way to make a coin polished pretty without cleaning with any water at all that I have figured out is using a polishing microfiber cloth!

I love toners. Unfortunately, the premium for attractive toning these days is pretty high. Morgans especially, but pretty much any coin that has nice toning these days has a huge premium.

Is the toning- the rainbow colors stable? if you pay $200 for a PCGS Morgan toned will it still be a rainbow in 10 or 20 years or will it become darker or brown or a different color?

Yes they are stable... once the've been graded & slabbed... they are in air tight environments that won't allow any change to the surface ✨👌

Thanks for the very informative video. I have come across a few commemorative halves with that "tab toning" and I was always very suspicious of its origins. I thought it might be faked, but I was wrong!

Very nice and helpful video igot a 2019 dime in change and its baby blue with light brown toning on edge rim orange with blue no fingerprints or scratches i saw it and carefully i wrapped it in a paper towel and saved it in a small plastic zip baggy. Be so kind to let me know if its worth grading. Thank You and God Bless You and Family

On an unrelated topic: Does anybody here buy/cherry pick ungraded coins for resale? Or is that too risky? It seems to me like there would be way more money to be made on buying ungraded coins. I would *_greatly_* appreciate someone's thoughts on this before i dive deeper into this market because im still relatively new at this. To clarify: im not talking about error coins or the like, but, rather just high quality *ungraded* coins that could in turn be sent in for grading. To me this seems like the highest profit potential but i REALLY would like some input here. THANKS A TON FOLKS FOR ANY ADVISE!

I prefer to buy nearly to the spot price not because of a tone because of its intrinsic value if price of the silver sky rocketed it will be a good investment the additive here is the natural toning and tarnish together its rarity for the collectors

I have a nice collection of album toned examples, some pretty wild Brown Ike's that are every color from blue to purple from of the OGP degassing and some morgan rainbow toned that were most likely bank bag toned or textiled toned but my pride and joy is my 1921 High Relief Peace Dollar that is completely golden brown on the obverse and completely silver on the reverse. Looks like two different coins. Most likely a bank bagger also but it's yet to be determined. Great video.

I picked up a bu Kennedy today 64 and it's in a plastic case and says 1917 to 1963 and 35th president on it it was a cool fine and I got the nut 1776 tuned 1976 2 dollar bills with the stamps on them $3.50 a piece perfect no folds nothing
