His blue card is a counter like LF ssj gokus. If the opponent uses a card and gohan uses a blue card it’ll do that cinematic animation instead of the basic kamehameha animation.

UL Gohan’s blue card works like a counter, similar to OG Namek Goku and IT Goku. If he uses the blue card when the enemy is executing an attack, he will override it and the special animation plays. The blue will also get additional effects if the counter activates

Except their mechanics are game breaking, counter gauge to an easy ult with team-wide extreme bleed and or a lock-in ult with stacking DMG is lunacy. Both of these units invalided two entire types, we don't see PURs used to this day because of Ultra UI. Gohan is no exception, he just took the best of the previous Ultras/LFs and merged it into one unit. Yeah, he doesn't remove buffs, but a counter blue with a counter gauge that let's you chain his blue card + ult isn't being overrated.

The fact that those units are struggling to survive a combo (which I disagree with) isn't them being misjudged, it's the rampant power-creep this game has. A unit like Goku + Frieza is already not even top 10 for people and they were given an exceptional power-boost while doing every mechanic in the game. It's just how it is.

My pushback to what you've alleged about Powerscreep is the continued presence of characters like Red Pan, MVP17(at least before this new Gohan), and to a lesser extent(they’re newer or recently reworked), LF Jiren, Orange Piccolo, Pikkon, etc- in high-level PvP. Granted, my opinions could be skewed by having some of these characters at 14 stars, but Red Pan, as one example, remains a highly effective counter to UUI and even Super 17 to a lesser extent. How can this be if Powerscreep is rampant? She's a 1% sparking unit over a year old.

Are these mechanics genuinely game-breaking, or simply a new annoyance that, once players become more familiar with them, will diminish in effectiveness as has been the case with nearly every Ultra unit? You claim that we don't see Purples anymore as a consequence of UUI's release, yet in this very showcase you were matched against multiple LF Jirens and Go Freizas. The former was being played in God rank before Ultra SSJ2 dropped mind you. I'm unconvinced that this Gohan will experience greater longevity than Ultimate Gohan, who is objectively tankier and more versatile, let alone game-breaking. @@Raiyuden

My power-creep comment was in regards to those two not surviving a combo. You used that as an argument to say we're overrating them when it's just units getting that much stronger since the time they dropped and now.

New device! Slowly getting used to it, it's a bit awkward at times. Right now I struggle with quickly pressing a card when someone tackles or I can get them with a blue card cause my hands aren't comfortable.

Surprisingly, jiren can usually tank an ult from UUI and live with about 30% HP. Buuuuuut at the same time MVP 17 is usually paired with him so the ultimate is getting a big dbuff, so idk how well jiren would tank In other scenarios
