📼Video Summary:
The Vehicle Assembly Building has been used since the 1960s to build the rockets before they lift off from the launch pad. It has been primarily used by 3 rockets: the Saturn V, the Space Shuttle, and SLS or Space Launch System. The smaller part of the building has the Low Bays, and the main part of the building has the High Bays. There are 4 High Bays, and then down the center of the building is the Transfer Aisle. Large yellow cranes help move the pieces of the rocket. There's the Transfer Aisle Crane and then the 4 High Bay Cranes. As the rockets are assembled there are retraceable Work Platforms that can be moved in to enclose the rocket. The Crawler-Transporter helps move the rockets to the launch pad along the Crawlerway.

I think, the Space Shuttle also might go to moon if it designed as soviet "Buran", which has own fuel tank for more powerful OMS rockets. Maybe for moon mission payload bay will be reduced by fuel tank. The modified shuttle will be orbiting around moon release moon landing module from payload bay and waiting before it come. And might be we got reusable moon spacecraft. Surely if NASA fix issues with orbiter's heat-resistant plates. And replace external tank to something else

One of the rockets assembled in the VAB not mentioned in the video is the Saturn IB, used to send astronauts to Skylab. Its second stage is the same as the Saturn V’s third stage, but it had only two stages total. To make use of as much infrastructure as possible, a “milk stool” structure was built on the mobile launch platform to bring the S-IVB and Command Service Module of Saturn IB up to the same levels as they were in the Saturn V. It looked a little strange, but it worked.

I've been to the KSC once. As you drive up you see a building in the distance and think "OK we're almost there." You are in fact about 20 minutes away and the building just gets bigger and bigger and bigger as you drive. The thing is massive, but because it is almost as wide and long as it is tall it doesn't look that big from a distance. But when you get there, it is just incredibly huge.

It may be more than a single story, but it does hold the world record for biggest building by volume. In fact, it's so big that it actually has indoor weather systems. Small rain clouds sometimes form near the ceiling.

I remember I went to the visitor complex! I wanted to get the bus to see the actual VAB but unfortunately I couldn't. This is going to be a great video, as always.

I remember taking a tour inside the VAB as a kid in the early 70’s. We were allowed in the building because the Saturn IV was unfueled during assembly. I went on to work as a civil servant for NASA. Security concerns and since the shuttle and SLS have fully fueled solid rocket boosters, open tours are no longer possible.

Hey Jared, you're the best educator I've seen on YT. Your videos are both entertaining and educative, they help me learn plenty of new stuff. Hope your channel will be known more ❤ . Also pls do a vid about the Icon of the Seas (that ship really makes me fascinated).

another amazing video Jared. My dad is an engineer at spaceX at the cape and I am just so amazed and impressed with your ability to not only create and show these structures inside and out but your ability to share a little bit of the story behind the spaces your modeling and creating. I would love to connect about a deep dive into the spaceX fleet of drone and recovery ships. :) Thanks for sharing your amazing work with the world.

I love these animations especially about space stuff. ISS, space shuttle or Soyus. I love the content and the way it's animated ❤❤ If you ever run out of ideas for space videos, think about history of space. Like russian mirr space station or the chinese one if there are enough information. I would love to learn something about this
