Most game shows featuring kid contestants tend to do that (the two _Carmen Sandiego_ game shows made for PBS, Double Dare [incidentally, one standout episode of _WitWiCS?_ actually had Marc Summers cameo & attempt to give the gumshoes trivia questions in the style of _Double Dare_ before Greg Lee told noted germaphobe Marc to go do the physical challenge instead, which references the fact that Greg Lee had previously worked on _Double Dare_ as a prop manager/stagehand], Legends of the Hidden Temple [usually, the Green Monkeys & Silver Snakes seemed to win more than the other teams], Nick Arcade's final round putting the winning team inside the video game using green screen to battle the chosen boss of the particular episode to try & earn the grand prize, Wild & Crazy Kids, GUTs [and all of its variants], etc. on Nickelodeon during its prime, and many others like them and/or inspired by them). It's 'cause we want to see the kids succeed.

@@TherealRNOwwfpooh Same can be said with Fun House and Fox's Fun House, it was a Game Show with Children as contestants and the Fun House was challenging, yet a lot of fun, same with its spinoff College Mad House

This episode was taped later in the season cause of the Africa map and the chief wearing her usual red outfit instead of the green one from the pilots and early episodes. But it is forgivable since josh didn’t know he would go out of order picking that last location. But, the chief was right about where Nessie would be stashed.

Actually she addressed the gumshoes by name in Season 1, when the Chief's office was part of the set. In Seasons 2-5, the office was in a different studio, and the Chief's bits were taped in advance. I would have liked it better if she continued to name the gumshoes.

@@antonspivack1436 It makes sense she was an actress that got a fair amount of work and had to be in California or wherever to do her films and tv shows outside of this show.

Season 1 was taped in Manhattan, whereas the other seasons were taped in Queens (the same studio as Sesame street).

It was used throughout Season 1’s Photo Recon slideshow by Chief. I cannot find the name of the musical piece, but it does sound familiar. I don’t remember the Season 1 episodes, so it’s nice to see them here.

That didn't happen. Only the first season limited the trip to anywhere in the Lower 48, and in 14 episodes the bonus round was won. None of them had a player choose Canada.

The only ones who could choose Canada were the gumshoes who were part of the last round of the show once it had upgraded the grand prize to anywhere in North America, rather than just the lower 48 states.
