The lecture was delivered as the 13th Dr P K Gopalakrishnan memorial lecture on 22nd November 2023 at the Centre for Development Studies (JNU), Trivandrum. The speaker discusses his predictions about India becoming an upper middle-income country at the latest by 2035 and a high-income country by 2050.
The former Union Cabinet Secretary and former Chairman, CDS, K. M. Chandrasekhar, presided over the lecture.
Dr. Arvind Virmani is currently a full-time member of NITI Aayog. He earlier served as chairman of the Foundation of Economic Growth and Welfare (EGROW) and president of the Forum for Strategic Initiatives (FSI, Delhi).
