Sadly you know this won't happen. If they're smart they would, but it doesn't seem like people are smart with these scandals. I've seen so many people being up Soojin and Jimin to remind them that they ended up innocent, with the whole Garam thing....as we can see, didn't work. Next to it, people actually harassed others for staying neutral and telling others to chill because they were worried for her mental health. I feel like she’s taking this very maturely. She isn’t making a huge fuss about being kicked out or being accused of bullying. She is simply “This is what happened. It’s honestly more believable that she’s innocent because she seems to not care what the public thinks since she shared what is her side of the story.

I think what we’re witnessing is a clash between Western and Korean value systems. In Korea, if there’s a rumor started about you, even if it’s not your fault, they still blame you because you must have done something wrong to get the rumors started. And the fact that they “take bullying seriously” yet the entire society engages in unironically bullying Garam. I think they have a really big issue with not being able to think for themselves, or to seek the truth. Hybe defended Garam more and beyond compared to other company would. In my opinion, the things the company said is the same as Garam herself. Oh, how can we overlook the fact tht kakao literally got recently caught that they purposely spread malicious articles about her & her group…that really happened.
@johnjackson3735

I strongly disagree. Hybe never allowed Garam to make an official statement in mid April as she requested or to release the official school disciplinary report which she also had available in April and they concealed the testimonies of all her schoolmates that supported her claims of innocence. They also never filed lawsuits for libel or slander against all the false information and incriminating faked photos posted by the fake victim (real bully) or against the death or sexual assault threats that were posted online. The effect was to create great hype at the moment of debut but to destroy the mental health of Garam who was falsely accused and served as the scapegoat for the group. There is even a haunting scene in an ad in which Garam falls really hard on a car which suggests that she is Hybe's fallen sixth angel since Le Sseragim means six angels. Then, Hybe dumped Garam with no attempt made to clear her name even though they had all the evidence to do so. It was left to an emotionally devastated and psychologically wrecked Garam unjustly and cancelled and abused by Hybe to clear her own name with the help of her best friend Yudimi and with one posting of the official school disciplinary report and Garam's official statement in Augst they went a long way to clearing her name and if the same thing had been done in April she would still be in the group. Furthermore, the official statement released by Hybe was weak since it was not a direct appeal by Garam as she requested and since they released it too late with no official evidence just as they placed her on hiatus.

They played judge, jury and executioner without knowing all the facts. Without knowing the whole story. And they didn’t care. Between Soojin and Garam, girls who should have never left the KPop world, it makes me hate the fans. Because the most hateful fans are the ones that the companies listen to above the defenders. The haters have the loudest voices, the most sway. They threaten the companies with boycotting the groups. And they get their way. Even when they’re wrong. I hope karma gets every single one of them.

As someone who was once friends with a narcissist and was bullied most of my lifetime I really feel for her. Yes, I may not know the whole story since I'm an outsider but even if she did abuse the alleged victim verbally it was for a good reason. And yes, that does not excuse her behaviour but let's be real ya'll - I bet you did that in your life multiple times, maybe not even knowing you did. I've done that because there were phases in my life that made me do that. We're humans, we feel, we sometimes are too emotional to think of someone elses feelings in that moment. What is important, that you don't just leave it there but rethink and learn from it. This is how you learn and it is the only way to learn. If idols were perfect, scandals wouldn't be a thing. People forget how everyone is imperfect and make mistakes at least once a day. She's also a minor and I think the one's that made rude/disgusting remarks about her are even worse. Maybe you think about your own mistakes you made rather than focusing on someone else's life? You're no better than her, as I am no better than you and her. We are all equally imperfect. I also made rude/disgusting remarks to some people and I regret deeply. I always try to apologise and make up for my mistakes. This is the way to live an earnest and honest life. But it would be too much to ask everyone to live like that and I do not expect everyone to do so. In the end there will be repercussions for every choice you make in your life. No matter how big or small it is, you should learn from it. Please, for the love of god, stop harassing idols and just people in general just because of some rumours that aren't even backed up. Now I wish everyone a wonderful day. Spend it wisely. :=)

This is one of the cases in kpop where it truly shows kpop stans' hero complex. They don't really care about the alleged victims ,they just care about boosting their ego with the thought of 'I did good helping kicking out a bully and therefore I'am the good guy ,it doesn't matter if we bully them the same way they did to the victims ,they had it coming and deserved it ,after all ,they deserved to be treated the same way they treated the victims'. Ofcourse considering that kpop runs on mob mentality it's not really a surprise ,the fact that they hadn't even realized how unreliable the alleged victim is just mind boggling.

It's extremely sad that, while each member of Le Sserafim represented their own backstory of being 'fearless' in their own way, Garam had it one of the hardest. She was fearless in defending her friend of nonconsensual child p**n, and mentioned in the August statement that her parents always raised her to be a good Samaritan and never a bystander when a friend is in need. I would really like to see her comeback as an actress who has a similar trait to her IRL because she'd fit the role and deserve all the success coming to her.

This has happened to so many idols and not only do people not realize they’re wrong, but they keep doing it 😭 I’ve said this before but I remember my old social studies teacher telling us that the reason we need to learn the history of so many things is so we don’t make the same mistakes again, but yet people are still repeating these mistakes again… Is it really that hard to just stay neutral when there isn’t even groundbreaking evidence….

I've been bullied in school. I've met my bully again in a store years later. We talked like normal people. Did she change? I don't know and don't care. If these alleged bullies bullied their members, staff, fans, etc...then yes. Fire them. That's a toxic work place. Getting fired for swearing at someone while she was a child? Lol. If she beat up anyone and there were pictures, proof, etc. meh. I am 50/50 on that one. She should apologize to that person, prove she changed to that person. Etc. But it has nothing to do with us unless it happened in the industry itself. We all did s-t while we were young. Half the population should be fired. Some are bullying at work every day, and no one does anything though. Kids are kids. Teach them to do better. Just sending them back to where they came from? How does that do anything but make them hate the person they allegedly hurt even more? Bad parenting by the internet. If they dissapear from their eyes, everything's solved. But as a victim myself, no. It's not solved. It had nothing to do with their work.

True. Considering HYBE already went public with their stocks, if you notice, any news, activity, work their artists do or may potentially do actually have an impact on the company’s value. So they were probably doing a balancing act of choosing what would be the safest and most sound for the investors, the board, the public, vs the interest of an artist- In short, they were playing it safe by not directly addressing the issue and giving the artist a chance to make a statement herself. With public clamor at the time to remove Garam, they had to make difficult decisions, either way they would receive a certain amount of backlash from her fans or Garam’s antis. This is the disadvantage of going bigger, you have a lot of people to please, while throwing some under the bus. NOT MY COMMENT JUST WANNA SPREAD TO ATLEAST PUT SOME JUSTICE TO GARAM For those not caught up on the Garam case: This case was resolved 11 months ago when Garam released the full School Violence Committee Document (Eunseo, the "victim", had previously shown the public only the first 3 lines of the document). Turns out the person who called themselves the "victim" (we call her Eunseo) and said she got bullied by Garam was actually Garam's friend in middle school, but they decided to stop being friends because Eunseo kept talking behind all of her friend's backs. Eunseo was salty she lost all of her friends and decided to hack into an ex-friends Facebook account (to make it look like it wasn't her who did this) and post pictures of another ex-friend (12 y/ o at the time) where they were only wearing their underwear. This was very traumatic for the girl whose pictures were posted because she still had to attend school after students saw her half naked so she called Garam and asked for help. Garam tried to reach Eunseo, but she wouldn't pick up so frustrated Garam cursed a couple of times over text and when they eventually met up Garam coursed and yelled at Eunseo some more and asked her to delete the photo and apologize. Eunseo later went to the schools violence committee and asked them to punish Garam for the cursing over text and Garam got the Iv15 punishment (most common punishment in her school). It was never bullying, because before that incident they were literally friends. Oh yeah and also, to avoid punishment, Eunseo transferred schools and then continued to spread rumours about Garam in the new school. So yeah, Garam's career got ruined by a jealous person and a former (fake) friend who couldn't stand to see Garam achieve her dreams. If you wanna read the SVC document, here's the link: twitter.com/oncemimosa /status/1557479971052048384?t= Ax61xNOSisxuGWDa4F9NsA&s=19 Also this document is helpful if you wanna read more about the case: docs.google.com/document /d/108cJs2GeHfWbn919 -yzMEYvkXMJA3UExd7aH67skXaY/edit?usp= drivesdk Edit: There has also been a website made to make it easier to access all the information on the case. sites.google.com/view/garam -scandal/home

Cursing at and making disparaging remarks toward a bully who is bullying you (and/or your friends) is NOT being a bully. A victim IS allowed to fight back (respond) against her bully. Cursing, regardless of the reason, is inappropriate (for which she received a “slap on the wrist”). The other stuff, Garam had NOTHING to do with. All that happened when she was TWELVE YEARS OLD. Which makes all this “drama” so ridiculous. Garam is completely innocent. Yoo EunSeo WAS and CONTINUES to be the bully. Hopefully, Yoo EunSeo will receive her karma soon. Best wishes to Garam.

I am hoping so much that Garam will consider going into Jpop in Japan, if she wishes to continue in entertainment. It would be safer for her there and she would have more freedom of movement, action and thought without psychotic enemies and fewer toxic comments. Plus, opinion of her actions and performances there are more favorable than in South Korea. In addition, the songs are longer in Jpop and there are more storytelling music videos, so Garam can get a chance to do some acting, which she is studying at the moment. I agree she should have a chance to do what she wants, but I am really concerned about another horrible frame in South Korea and from international kpop fans, if they let her back into the industry in kpop or kdrama.

HYBE did a terrible job in defending her. All they had to do was get official school records/documents and release it to the public for everyone to see (which Garam had to do on her own, through her friend's IG) and it would've been dealt with so easily. But, instead, they just released their written statement and then stayed silent. And basically, allowed the public to crucify her. And ultimately, they had no choice but to terminate her contract due to the immense hate and backlash from both Knetz and i-fans. It's a shame that an innocent person's dreams and aspiration was shattered, because people jumped into conclusions without considering that the rumor could be false. This is what happened to T-ara, when everything believed a false bullying rumors and ruined the group's popularity and image. People can say to move on and that she was only in the group for 2 weeks, etc. And I have moved on. But, I can also have an opinion on the matter as well. Otherwise, you also wouldn't be on this video, specifically about Garam, telling others to move on.

Garam, Soojin, Jimin... How many people falsely accused of bullying will have to be kicked out of their groups for netizens to learn to wait evidence from BOTH sides??? If rumors like this happen again with any idol just KEEP YOUR FINGERS TO YOURSELVES FOR GOODNESS SAKE

People who still call her commoner and ask why people are supporting her are just the worst, this person who accused her got everything they wanted, and you want to give her more?

Even if she was just a rookie and Hybe is already protecting her made sense to me, Hybe wouldn't want more negative issues so they try to minimize it, also le sserafin was their new baby, of course, Hybe would protect it but as the issue blew up and many netz just want her out, with pressure, Hybe as a company also want to protect their reputation and their other idols, boycotting is becoming a thing now, I think that if they continue to defend her and netz gather more "evidence" people would just boycott the whole group and the company labeled as "tolerating a bully". Public pressure is so much right now (back then) that it's unfair, she didn't get to defend herself at the time (issues like these reminded me of Sujin! they are talented people) Also if Garam's side is the true story, the said "victim" wasn't so much as a "victim" as she posted a picture of someone half naked online, publicly humiliating them...Also, it's dumb to get ridiculed for cursing, yes, it's bad but it's not murder, there are worst things out there a teenager could do other than cursing at someone who humiliated their friend, give this kid a chance.

yes! from a business perspective, the issue has been eating up the company's time and resources, so they had to do what they did. i don't think most kpop fans understand how demanding (and toxic) the korean GP can be with the industry.

The people that are saying she's a commoner now and her fans shouldn't talk about her is the most brain dead thing I've ever heard, so they're basically saying if you're not an idol then you're worth mentioning, just ridiculous

I just don't understand why she was kicked. It was so obvious that the allegations were lies. The person in the pictures said to be Garam was just a random person 💀 Everyone who stuck their nose into these things and simply accepted everything without finding out more. I hope it will show up in your life somehow. Just because of your ignorance she had to say goodbye to her dream. Everyone knows how difficult the trainee tsge are.

people were assuming garam was dating the ceo of hybe because of how hybe defended her ( I still feel disgusted by this assumption) .. if she were not kicked out people would sl*tshming her for the rest of her life like how they are doing to jenny with YG... however I think they should reveal everything online to defend their reputation ( even if by the law they had to keep it secret because the case was involving minors and the inappropriate pictures of minors)

people are so stupid like wdym "she just proved that she wasnt a regular student" so youre telling me you wouldn't help and defend your friends after something horrible happened to them??? posting pictures someone didnt consent to is wrong and i need these people to ask themselves do they actually really care if garam cursed or what because its pretty pathetic. like seriously yall ruined this girls dreams for what exactly. what did any of these people gain from getting her kicked out besides satisfaction? how is that gonna help you in life? just sad and miserable.
