I searched for a missing person who was later found dead in a swampy, wooded area right in town (near a creek and right by mcdonalds) she went missing on a walk back to her home around 2am. The 2nd day her boyfriend sat on the steps of an abandoned building across from where she was found, watching us. Just watching us. I knocked on his door and grilled him. I have no doubt he did it but no evidence against him. A child found her about a month later, he was sliding on some ice and slid over her body :/

I think the reason he decided to retract his divorce is because he knows she’s dead and will mostly likely never be found so he wants to make sure if she has an life insurance or benefits that he will get them and not another family member once she’s legally declared dead.

How ironic that he sent his kids to go get candy and then Lisa takes off on foot for an hour walk and with her purse when she’s going to go on a run? He couldn’t have came up with a better story? @missyidontgiveacrap9939
@missyidontgiveacrap9939 5 жыл бұрын
Brittany Travers Eh...not necessarily...Danelle did say that the mortgage is a lot more than they can pay, and she’s a stay at home mom with part time job at the cafeteria, so not a whole lot of money to go around...and the husband also lost his job, so buying a prepaid phone with limited minutes isn’t so “controlling” or so far fetched at all...it’s being smart and managing money to make sure you still have a roof over your head and food in your family’s stomachs. I’ve been in several situations where I couldn’t afford monthly phone bills (my phone was shut off due to non payments all the time) and had to get prepaid phones. I wouldn’t be so quick to judge over prepaid phones as a “controlling” thing.

What if he didn’t have a short amount of time to do anything ? When was the last time someone actually saw her ? The neighbors stated to call if she wasn’t seen for a while . He could have lied about the “the time she left to run” or about the kids even going to the store for candy which is why he refuses anyone to interview them. They could have been out of the house the whole day . He could have made all this up to make it seem like a short time frame to do anything but he could have had the whole day and next day until he reported her to get rid of any other evidence .

I live in Plainfield. This was a big thing here. There has been a lot of new building in the area, it has been kind of assumed that she is buried under one of the new homes being built. Though the other big possibility is the federal lands that are around Fermilab (a particle collider) nobody is allowed on that big piece of land, and its all wilderness, so anyone buried there is unlikely to ever be found.

I lived in Plainfield when this was going on. I had heard some years ago that Craig had a friend or a Brother (can’t remember) that oversaw construction in Will County. Other than subdivision growth, the Walmart on 59 closer to Shorewood was being built, and I-55 was being rebuilt and the overpasses were going up. I also heard that for a half an hour or so after Lisa went missing, Craig was nowhere to be seen. Wasn’t at the house, and nobody could get a hold of him. A half hour is plenty of time to get to either of those locations I mentioned above, and nobody is going to tear up either of those projects on just a hunch. She’s GOT TO be in concrete somewhere. Has to be.

I think she was burried on the property. Underneath a shed perhaps? Was premeditated so he had it all set up, sent kids to the store, threw her in the hole, shot her & covered it up. It makes me so mad that a “person of interest” can choose NOT to talk to authorities!!! I don’t understand that one. I absolutely understand that we all have constitutional rights, but when someone is missing and/or their life could be in danger, why on earth would we not do anything possible to try to help? In this case particularly, police have Lisa’s blood on a tarp in Craig’s truck, as well as the fact that they were in the middle of a divorce & all the other shady facts, so why isn’t that enough to make Craig cooperate, or at least make him answer crucial questions? Ughhh....it’s so frustrating!! Now her family has been left without answers for over 10 years and they weren’t allowed to see her children. God only knows what kind of lies Craig has told them all these years. I pray that one day her family will get justice for their beloved Lisa, and that her children will finally know the truth of what happened to their mother-that she didn’t abandon them. ❤️❤️

All the factors here seem to point directly at the husband; I wish there was some sort of concrete evidence! He was a controlling, psychologically abusive man, who Lisa had told friends and neighbours that she was afraid of. He was known to have been violent in the past. Lisa didn't want to leave the kids with him. And statistically, the time when a person is most likely to be killed by an abusive partner is when they're trying to leave. He'd been under severe stress, between the divorce, the eviction notices, and possibly losing his job. To me, it all sounds like a recipe to turn an abuser into a killer, and I'm afraid that's exactly what happened. I hope that more evidence turns up, for the sake of Lisa's family, and so their children can know the truth.

WOW, this reminds me so much of my own situation with a man I was married to for 24 years. HE decided to leave and go live in the wilderness, he insisted that we see the same attorney to save money, he lived in the basement for 3 weeks while he packed up all his hoarded crap for moving, he acted kind of menacing the whole time, to the point where I spent most of that time at a friend's house. I shouldn't have even come home to sleep, but I did. There was no infidelity on either side, he just decided he wanted what he wanted and it didn't include me. I think if we'd had something to really fight over (like children), I might not have come out of it safely, either. I totally believe the husband in this video got away with murder. Well, he'll meet his Maker some day, and it will be a different story. But I still hope he does time in prison in this life, and the sooner the better.

The husband was a hunter and I might be wrong because I have no hunting skills but I'm assuming he would know how long it would take for a body to start rotting or start to smell and he might also know little tricks that the average person doesn't. My theory he killed her while the kids went to get candy but he left her body in the house hidden somewhere. He knew exactly how long it would take for the body to rot and he removed it before it happened. He was a hunter so he knew areas that were secluded and he could of buried her body in one of those places or could of left her body for the wildlife to eat.

I don't know about that. Wouldn't a hunter want to clean and gut an animal as quickly as possible to prevent decomposition from contaminating the meat? I don't see them as a expert in knowing exactly when flesh starts to rot. Plus leaving a body in a warm environment increases the process.
@dellahicks7231
@dellahicks7231 5 жыл бұрын
@@MiShellF2003 You are absolutely correct. My husband and son are both hunters, and they begin their process of dealing with the animal immediately, as any gut or general rot will render the meat unusable. My husband has been hunting for nearly 50 years, and I doubt he knows anything about when a human corpse would need to be moved, to avoid decomp. (At least I hope not, better sleep with one eye open!) I will agree with Mandy Romero though, in that her husband may have known areas to bury her, that I could absolutely believe!

Danelle, I just love your spirit, your work, emphathy and overall compassion in what you do. I found your channel over the summer and have been hooked ever since. I come from a very small area in upstate New York, 5 hours south of Buffalo and one day 16 years ago, a young woman left her job and never made it home to her children and family ever again. It was a popular case for awhile, but is definitely cold. Her name is Audrey Herron. Literally left without a trace and Law Enforcement have been stumped ever since. She wasn’t considered a high risk female and her boyfriend at the time was questioned and all of his property checked. No one has found her or her Jeep in 16 years. It is so bizarre and extremely sad that her children and family are left with no answers and just a yearly anniversary reminder! This is the exact type of case I can see you cracking! We just don’t have the resources and your platform is amazing for an amazing break in this sad case, after almost two decades! I adore you!!!

What if he knocked her out before even sending the kids to get candy. He could have found out about the eviction and it started an argument. If things got out of control and he pushed her and she hit her head it could have easily knocked her out. In his mind that would be the nail in the coffin. Even if he hadn't meant to hurt her, which he probably did, the court would grant the eviction and most likely even awarded her custody because of the physical harm. So he couldn't let anyone find out even if it was an accident. The kids could have heard the arguing and thought they were being sent on a bike ride so they wouldn't hear the shouting. But if it was around six o' clock pm when he sent them then that's a time when there's heavy traffic and 10/12 years olds shouldn't be riding around. Not only could they get hit by a car but they could be grabbed and taken and not noticed in all the rush. This would give him enough time to hide her body temporarily in the back of his car with the tarp. Then he could clean up and wait for the kids to go to bed. Once they're asleep he can actually dispose of her. I think this is why it took him longer to report than the neighbor. He couldn't report until after he had the body gone.

A prepaid cell phone for her?!!? He is a total control freak for sure and I feel so bad because clearly Lisa is gone due to Craig.... they just need to find Hard Core Evidence.... those poor kids are brainwashed by him now too, even though they’re in their 20’s now.... The FACT that she told her neighbor “if I’m not around, something bad’s happened call the police.” I Wish She had moved in with her family and got rid of that JERK.....😢 I’m 43 and I’m so grateful I got out of a few abusive relationships in my 20’s and early 30’s.... I’m very lucky to be alive and when someone won’t let you talk to your friends or makes you use a prepaid cell phone or makes you a wear a pager (back when those were popular) follows you, gets jealous of you spending time with your own child, etc.... GET OUT AND GET AWAY NO MATTER WHAT.... I’m grateful to be here still...

Alexandria Elizabeth Exactly my thoughts! And danelle did say earlier in the case that Chris may not have known she was going on dates...so maybe some random date picked her up and it was a serial killer or first time murderer. The blood on the tarp...maybe she went hunting too and cut her finger and bleed on the tarp, while helping her husband carry the tarp? Small stuff like that do happen...Also, another point, the authorities got search warrants, wouldn’t they have found something else other than that if they went through the whole house and cars?

I live 2 streets from the Stebic household. I have hung out with her son a few times in high school and always sat next to him on the bus. Super nice kids. I met Craig, he was nice to me but I was only a teenager and had no reason to make him upset. People would always tell the kids how their dad killed their mom. Although it is most likely true.. still I could see how tough it was for them. I only really hung out with her son and never the daughter but I had other friends that were friends with her. I’m about halfway through the video so I don’t know if it was stated but next to the home there was a gazebo with a photo of Lisa and many many stuffed animals there. It was removed years later and they recently took down a 24/7 surveillance camera that filmed around the street they lived on. Truly an upsetting topic.
