When we demonize something in the external world, we reveal a void in our own psyche. When we try to dehumanize another or villainize something, we only reveal our own ignorance. When we promote shame, blame and punishment, we reveal just how little we know about our own inner demons and our nature.
The ones who are able to look within themselves and separate their true essence from their ego will stand as a beacon of hope for others. The ones who can emancipate themselves from ideology, tribalism, the fixation with external enemies and look within their own heart, with humility and honesty, will emerge with a heightened awareness... This is the beginning of freedom.
This video features quotes from Jordan Peterson (author and psychologist), Alan Watts (philosopher), Eckhart Tolle (author), Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn (author) and Carl Jung (psychologist).

For the last 2 years, the world has gone through a state of chaos and upheaval. We had to confront many new truths, some of which were rather uncomfortable. But as Sun Tzu says, “In the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity”. We have been blessed with the opportunity to learn and evolve. 2022 will be about taking all the knowledge we’ve gained and putting it into action - toward creative endeavors. Out of the ashes will emerge a creative force unlike anything else before. So, I would like to take this opportunity to encourage you to pursue whatever creative adventure your heart desires. Nobody ever thinks of themselves as the "baddies". Even Hitler thought he was the hero of his own story. I'll take that one step further for you. 'There is no such thing as a true altruistic act'. In other words, good, in its purest form doesn't exist. If we measure an altruistic act by what we do or don't get in return, then even the good feeling you get when you do something nice for someone is a measure of reciprocation. Sure, it's the smallest form of compensation you can receive for your 'altruism' but it is compensation none the less. So when you say, "help someone for the good feeling it gives you", it ceases to be altruism and actually becomes closer to a transaction.

To much division in the world. Can’t help but think it is so by design. Division is a tool used to weaken us. Scared, divided and confused seems to be the narrative. Yes it is a good thing to recognise inner unity with everyone, including the most depraved humans alive. Inner unity by no means implies outer complacency though, instead you side with the more harmonious against the less harmonious; you mostly build and help with wisdom whenever possible (good aspiration) but fight when needed in self defense (necessary evil), although the longtime goal is to heal rather than punish that which is evil. Evil is to be TRANSFORMED into good, not exterminated. It is important to realise that hate, fear and contempt AS SUCH can never be good, no matter which target you direct them towards. If you desire to be a force for good then you must learn to love your enemy like you love your friend. And before that you need to learn to love your friend like yourself. And even before that you need to learn to love yourself unconditionally while being honest with all your flaws and weaknesses as well as all your strengths and merits.

This is very true. Enabling oppression happens when people don't speak up for the vulnerable. Somethings are worth taking stances on. Everyone is one bad accident away from being disabled but look how persons with disabilities are treated, even in first world countries. That is because they collectively do not have the power to fight their oppression, even as much as other minority groups do. All minority groups need allies within the majority to succeed. You are not our ally if you do not speak up when human rights abuses and systemic oppression and marginalization occur. I can only receive my prescription medication because I have 2 white, cis, straight, abled, middle class, men verifying I do not abuse my medication because doctors wont listen to me due to my Hispanic last name, multiple stigmatized disabilities, gender identity and sexuality. If I didn't have my allies, I would be dead. I almost died anyways but luckily my privileged support system was there to advocate for me to be resuscitated. The doctors wanted to let me die because they were so prejudice against me. This is in first world countries too, we have a long way to go.

I found this out in startling clarity, when I began working on my addictions. First I stopped drinking, then stopped smoking weed, slowly cut out all substances. I was never an alcoholic or a drug addict, but I saw I was always seeking something. If I am not drinking, I watch too much Netflix, or porn. The desire is for escape. It's easy to look at people with serious addictions and say "I would never become like that", but when I tried a sober lifestyle myself I saw my own capacity for addiction, or "evil" if you will, and the lies I tell myself. I am still trying and praying every day to overcome my addictions, to wasting my time on the phone, on the internet. But I don't try to change anyone anymore, when it's a journey to hell trying to change yourself even one iota. The scary thing is you can want to change so badly, but in another moment that "evil" part of you can win. Why try to change the world if you can't even change yourself moment to moment.

One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. "The speck you see in your enemy's eye is nothing more than the reflection of the plank in your own eye." Here is a quote from the writings of Marshall Vian Summers, 'What Creates Evil?' "If you are observant of your own thoughts and inclinations, it will be apparent to you that there are destructive forces within you. You see this in your desire for revenge...in your desire to conquer or overwhelm others.... even in your desire to change the world. For how can you change the world without removing those or eliminating those or silencing those who would oppose you?... The great Separation that has set in motion the existence and expansion of the universe was not created out of an evil intention. It was not a mistake. It was not born of evil. But within this compromised existence, evil becomes inevitable.... So evil is all around you. It is a force. It takes the form of forces in the mental environment, forces of persuasion, forces which you cannot see, but that you can feel, which affect your thinking, your emotions and your behavior... But God has given an antidote to evil--placed within you in the power and the presence of Knowledge, a deeper mind...a mind that does not think like your personal mind thinks; a mind that sees, waits, knows and acts with power and commitment... It is answerable only to God because it is an extension of God... You have what is unchanged, you see. It is coming back to what is unchanged within you that is your redemption, that is your power, that begins to free you from the grip of addiction and the grip of persuasion... [It] is waiting to be discovered."(MVS, writings from the New Message)

While I generally enjoy these videos, this is a warped message. It contains a lot of truth, but the sophomoric argument that good and evil exist only relative to each other is just plain wrong. To find the truth, one only has to ask onesself, "Is there a behavior or situation that is categorically good or evil?" In my opinion, inflicting pain and humiliation on another, solely for one's own amusement, is evil. Self-sacrifice, self-denial, and tolerance in furtherance of another's welfare is good. Pain can be constructive, love can be tough; we can't all be saints, but let's not bumble down this path of moral relativism.

Atlas Shrugged? One theme I gleaned from that opus was that one cannot dispel the delusions of others especially when those delusions pay so well. That goes for individuals as well as nations. Deception is the hallmark of the politician and many religious leaders, as well, and we are seeing the culmination of what lies can do to an entire world. There is no turning back. My solution? For this world -nothing. For me - faith in the wisdom, grace, forgiveness and mercy of God. My trust in God is strengthened everyday. All I have to do is look at what is being served up by the "world" and I know this world has nothing for me. I am in this world but I am not of it. Good luck.

I think this whole 'trust in God' thing is so often used as a lame excuse to avoid personal responsibility. You ARE a part of this world whether you want to or not. And you CAN do things to change this place for the better. You have nothing to lose. So why not take wise action to improve things over here? What can go wrong? You and all of us have everything to gain. I love Jesus and think he is a great example but he did not sit and wait and avoid doing something himself. He accepted a moral responsibility and lived his live pursuing goodness. Even sacrificing himself for that. Unbelievable you could read the bible and get out of it that there is nothing you can or should do.

That's ALL on you. There IS nothing we can do to stop the fulfillment of the Book of Revelation. That is what I said because that is what is true. It is also probably true that people have used "trust in God" to avoid personal responsibility. So what? As for what I am doing to make this world a better place? Obviously more than you know. Jesus also said let the dead bury their dead. Do you understand the context? For this world I can offer nothing because it is already dead in spirit. For those spirits that remain I do whatever God asks of me. Now.....good night.

Most countries who's politicians claim accessibility is an individual's responsibility also signed the UN Human Rights Convention for Persons with Disabilities, have legislation meant to protect persons with disabilities and give them equal access to human rights but in practice it is rarely enforced. I keep getting attacked by people saying to shut up, dont discourage people. I am trying to let people know the CDC approved treatment is being rationed. WE CAN AND SHOULD DO BETTER THAN THIS FOR OUR VULNERABLE IF WE TRULY CARE ABOUT THEM. Shutting down the world and not providing resources for those in need is not saving lives. It is harming way more people across the board. My husband is vaccinated and got covid from his vaccinated coworker. The vaccine is not protecting our son who cannot build immunity to vaccines and yet they claim these vaccines are protecting the vulnerable. Not true. That is why they made monoclonals...for the 2 million people diagnosed with cancer on chemo every year, the 2.5 million on immunosuppressive drugs, the 1 million with a primary immunodeficiency, 54 million people over 65 who may not survive even after receiving theV, etc, etc. In Florida their governor ordered enough monoclinals for everyone in their state when delta started last fall and he saved many lives. Pay close attention when people anger irritate you. Usually it’s because of a flaw they have, and that flaw is in you too. Deep down you know this, you know you’re flawed in some awful way or facet, but you can’t shake it, and because you can’t get rid of it you repress it. Seeing it in others just reminds you of your own flaws, and frustrates you. I know this, because I see it clearly in myself. When others are domineering and self righteous, I hate it, but then I self reflect and see myself doing the same things. When others are ignorant and wilfully blind I’m so angry, but then I turn around and see I am no different. It’s saddening to know such things about yourself, but also sobering, and grants clarity. Clarity to see your problems, and the opportunity to begin to solve them. You see the path laid out before you. It’s a painful path, one which you’ll stray from, but it’s worth following. At the end is freedom.

“Evil” is very much a subjective ideal. I prefer to think of the difference between love and fear. Focus on feeling love and you will automatically be drawn to others feeling the same. It’s a frequency. Granted, there are people and institutions that could use a good smack down. Part of living in love is having the dignity and self respect to recognize when someone has over stepped their bounds. The closest thing I would associate with “evil” is forcing one’s will upon others.

"Good and evil only exist in the eye of the beholder" The statement is incredibly wrong and dangerous because it denies the existence of a reality beyond our own perception. Evil harms people ; whether one person or millions , necessary or unnecessary; even if some may benefit from harming others if an action harms people then it is evil. " No matter how popular an evil person is, or how many people benefit from harming others. ''Judge not least you be judged" is just as wrong. We should have high standards and expect to held by the same high standards that we hold other people to. If you point out someone else's evil actions , but you commit evil actions also that doesn't make their evil any less harmful. Even though you wish it were wrong, it isn't. There is no standard that you, a human, can apply with certainty to other humans. This is what Jesus meant. For example: how do you define "harming others"? Does a strict father "harm" his son when he punishes him? If you think you can answer that, it says more about your own arrogance (dangerous arrogance) than it does about good and evil. You can not know what is in the heart of another. In fact, you can not even know what is in your own heart. What subconscious desires you may have that influence the way you see others. That you feel sympathy for a beautiful child, but feel disdain or loathing for an ugly old hermit, just based on appearance. We all do this. Saying good and evil exist in the eye of the beholder does not mean everything is relative. What it means is you should only judge yourself, because that is the only person you have a right to judge. Why do you think you *know* better than anyone else what good and evil are? Is it good to give someone everything they desire? Is it good for a mother to prevent her child from ever feeling disappointment? Is it good to give all your belongings away to the poor? You can ask for someone's help, and they can grant it willingly. That is what I consider "good will". But you can not demand someone else help you, especially using force: that is tyranny. So, if you think there is evil in the world, educate those who do it, or allow it - convince them it is evil. Do not simply proclaim "That is evil because I said so!" and try to destroy them.

@@Pollencakes Forgiving and condoning are two completely different matters. Reconciling is yet another matter. To forgive is to let go of hate, bitterness, resentment. It is perfectly possible to forgive WITHOUT reconciling (which requires real remorse and constructive penance on the part of the perpetrator, something which only he/she may freely choose) and at the same time not ever condoning what has been done, rather insisting that such behaviour be exposed and stopped as soon as possible whenever it occurs. By refusing to forgive your GUILTY perpetrator of the EVIL acts committed against you, you are holding your present self hostage to the painful memories of your past self, thus prolonging your own suffering and perpetually allowing the crimes of this perpetrator to keep hurting you and corrupting you in this very moment. It is possible but HARD to forgive the "unforgiveable". I know very well from past narcissistic abuse, religious abuse, psychological abuse, physical abuse and sexual abuse. We forgive others NOT for THEIR sake but for OUR OWN sake. It is your right to not forgive but it will not do you any good. To forgive and let go is empowering although insanely hard! The perpetrators of crimes will NOT get away even though you forgive them, let go and mostly forget about it. Karma = law of sowing and reaping will hit them/us by natural necessity. There is no escape, not even through death, only prolonging the inevitable is possible. Everyone is recurringly reincarnated until they have perfected their soul nature and balanced their karma/action. The personality is not reborn but the subjective self aware consciousness is, with its own unique individual willpower. Much karma gets balanced in the same incarnation it was created, whether bad or good, some gets balanced in later incarnations. Most personal injustice is karmic justice from past incarnations. There is no hell except in physical life, and also no real learning except here. Emotional afterlife only gives you what you cling to, pain or pleasure, sorrow or happiness, along with likeminded people bound together by desire. And mental paradise has no room for suffering, only for the joyful illusion of idealistic perfection in one's own separate mind, surrounded by self created facsimiles of all loved ones.

I'm simply telling you how someone with disabilities like the ones I have and the experiences like the ones I have as a marginalized person may interpret the message. This is about awareness and pointing out how people are being marginalized so that persons are marginalized don't feel so alone and maybe we can create a more inclusive and accessible society, even to persons with disabilities and other marginalized people. I'm also queer and draggy so I use a lot of offensive humour to get my point accross as it is most accessible to me at times. :)

Some of us are thorns in the side of those who oppress and marginalize others. Some of us are willing to remember our pain and suffering to try and make sure that those enduring are not alone and less have to endure it at all. I think maybe you all really value an ableist view which is why you're telling me my experience and life is invalid, because that's what you're doing, you're marginalizing me. As someone who has been harmed by those claiming to do good, I assure you there is not because it is subjective. For instance Mother Theresa euthanized marginalized people for being marginalized and seeking medical care, instead of just giving them medical care but she is regarded as a Saint............... Time changed perspectives and now her actions were seen as evil but at the time were seen as good. I suppose the simplest explanation of evil in your eyes is anyone imposing their will on another to their detriment, so every government, every corporation, every company, every politician, every doctor, every business and every person has done those things at some point in their life, even without knowing it. So everyone is evil in your eyes?

I think you're making a mistake here, and quoting Peterson and others out of context to make a point that they were not making. I think that the threshold between good and evil can be identified. The problem lies in our biases, limitations and incomplete knowledge to identify it, which is what we have to be mindful of (thus be careful with our judgment) but that's not an argument for the relativism that there's no such thing as good and evil, and therefore no threshold between them. I think this video conveys the wrong message by trivializing evil as being an intrinsic and necessary counterbalance to good, or just a point of view. The fact that we have the capacity for evil doesn't justify it. One important aspect in the definition of evil is consciousness and intention. A lion that kills a prey is following its nature and its intrinsic survival instinct. A person who commits murder, who's conscious of that fact, who pursued it, and who even derived pleasure in doing so, is perverted and evil. He inflicted pain, suffering and destruction for no higher purpose. So I'd start there. We tend to forgive animals and children for their actions, however destructive or painful, because they didn't know any better. I like your videos, but this one I think completely missed the mark. Darkness is the absence of light. Evil is the absence of good. Cheers. Edit: maybe a better definition is that evil is rather the rejection of good.
