I really like that second song (tuning issues aside). I liked the big cymbal crashes and the high hat hits. There’s actually some great playing on that track!

I think the bass is just WAAAYYY out of tune for Mix 2. They probably tracked it first before everything else. Common mistake 😅

You can edit the pitch of guitars (well, any sound really) with Melodyne, and it's really good actually! Also works well with Bass :) Loving these mix reviews Rhys, keep em coming

Thanks mate! Yeah I thought if melodyne, and I have used it on polyphonic sounds before, I’ve just never been happy with the quality. It’s good for a last resort kinda thing. Works pretty good on bass though. Guitars is a bit sketchy in my opinion unless it’s a lead line.

I wouldn’t get to a stage where your last resort is tuning guitars in melodyne. That’s a recipe for disaster. Unless it’s a function of the band (to be relative in tune and time), there’s no excuse for tracking anything out of tune. Especially now when everything is digital with unlimited takes. In the old days of tape you sometimes had to settle for a take that was out of tune.
