You may have better dirt than us, but the first recorded 200 bushel corn was grown a couple miles from me near Birds Illinois (in the Amish section of your map) We now farm it

Anything North of Litchfield is Central IL. The VISIBLE Line Between Good & Great Dirt is on Route 48 North of Litchfield, the North Side of Rt 48 has Great Dirt, the South Side of Rt 48 has Good Dirt. Now there is a Difference between City Locations and Only the Type of Dirt Declaring what is Good Dirt and Great Dirt. I’m at where Interstate 70 and Interstate 55 Meet, and I consider our area South Central to South West Central IL. Anything South of Interstate 64 is starting to be Southern Illinois. Bloomington & Peoria and Up is Northern IL. Springfield/Decatur and Champaign is Central IL. Carbondale and Marion is Southern IL. I’ll never forget going up to Pana/Taylorville to Farm the one year and seen a Old Guy at the Local Bowling Alley wear we always Ate At that we are at wearing a Cards Hat screaming at the Game, I thought that was Cubs Territory. I do consider Parts of Southern IL Practically Kentucky.

I think of Matoon as Southeast Central Illinois, but not central Illinois and definitely not southern IL.
