Hi Spencer! Thank you for highlighting Mtn. View. As usual, the video was quite informative with lots of data. My rental townhome is near San Antonio and El Camino. This area is rarely mentioned. Is this a desired area or are most people looking to live in the southern Mtn. View or closer to Google? Is being so close to two very busy streets a turn off for most buyers? Also, I see that Mtn. View, Palo Alto and Los Altos, are putting their government mandated high density housing there on San Antonio and San Antonio/El Camino intersection. Will the proximity to so much high density housing lower the value of my home?

All of Mountain View is desirable because the city has a lot of great parks, restaurants, and proximity to jobs. Southern Mountain View tends to be the best as most of the area is all residential versus where you are at has more mixed retail. That being said, real estate is extremely local so if you are next to busy roads, it's still a valuable home but expect 5-10% off a home that doesn't have these noise issues. Almost every city in San Mateo county strip have no room to build so most will be building along El Camino Real as that entire area is zoned for higher density. Through the years, you will see a lot of mixed use space and certainly a lot of condos come on the market there. When you have a lot more people in the neighborhood it'll impact the value of your home. Whether it will lower it or not is a different question depending on what exactly gets built around there! Hope this helps

@@SpencerHsu Thank you, Spencer, for your thorough reply. It is very much appreciated. I have to admit, I am not happy with all of the high density housing along El Camino and San Antonio. I have always thought I would move back to Mtn. View when I retire, but I am definitely having second thoughts. I don't think I could handle all of the congestion and people. I guess on the upside, one would not need a car as most everything is within walking distance. Thank you for your input, Spencer!

@@suemilkbone4868 You are very welcome. Housing is needed and the easy solution is to build more housing is along that strip.

@@SpencerHsu True for the people needing housing but not good for the homeowners living nearby. I bought in the later part of the 80s when it wasn't very crowded, no San Antonio shopping center, no Google. So, a lot has changed since then.

@suemilkbone4868 yes things are busier and will be even more so. Some people don’t like it so they sell and move somewhere else quieter
