I bought trays from Bootstrap but Greenhouse mega store has what looks like the same tray for way cheaper.Not as cool a company for sure but I'm tempted to buy some to see if they are the same.

I took your advice and bought bootstrap farmer trays! And I'd like to say thank you! Lol I bought some 2" trays off Amazon to propagate some cuttings just a hobby of mine that I may later turn into a business. And I must say they are garbage compared to the bootstraps! And we're NOT cheap! I highly recommend bootstrap!

We use the deep trays. Looking forward to switching them out for the shallow trays over time for all of the reasons you mentioned.

Thanks to your advice I bought my first of I hope many of the 10x20 1” trays slotted snd solid. I bought 5 each and 3 of the sun blaster you recommended just arrived too! Getting closer .

I definitely am considering buying these instead of from another vendor - I am however curious about how they work with hydroponically grown microgreens. You mentioned how they start out raised in the middle and over time settle down to a flat surface by the weight of the soil. Hydroponic mediums such as wood fiber/jute are going to tend on the lighter side by comparison so may not flatten this out as much. Would this impact the growing potential or cause any ill effects, especially with bottom watering? Thanks a ton for the content - you & Curtis Stone are the reasons I'm getting started on all of this!

Yes I purchased Bootstrap shallow 10×20's. 30 sets of them. Just did my 1st grow in them(arugula) and I'm really satisfied with the way they handle when pu King up and moving them. These will pay for themselves quickly.

In western Canada, the trays from West Coast Seeds are good trays to use. Been using them for over 2 years and no broken trays yet. Mumm's Seeds also has some nice trays as well. Their 1010 trays are a higher density than bootstrap. You could knock someone out with one of these. If you take care of your trays, the cheaper ones will last.

the cheap ones still cracked and are hard to get apart - I am careful and not a bull in a china shop with my equipment and I hate the cheap deep trays for microgreens - they are fine for planting garden plants but in my opinion I like the heavier shallow ones. I am gonna check out WCS trays - thanks for the info.

@@kamilskwara2069 Not sure about the 1020's. Send them an email, as they are fairly quick to respond. You cant bend the 1010's, thats how thick they are.

I just got 5 of each in the mail and have them planted and have them stacked right now. I am so irritated over the trays I bought a couple years ago (but hadn't used til now) from a large farming -greenhouse company - they started breaking the first planting!!! They were cheap in comparison to the bootstrap farmer ones but I love the strength and the shallowness of the trays - wish I could have afforded a few more but as my business grows I will order more and phase out the crappy deep trays!!!

I use them, I love them, only thing that would make them better is if they made a glass version because I don't like using plastic, all plastics are very bad for your health, even "food grade" ones.

As a matter of fact if you would be straight about it your might even sell more. As people don't get the feeling you're trying to frame them.

In Belgium they are hard to buy due to customs clearance and shipping nearly doubles the price via Amazon. I would love to use my Belgium company to be a European distributor..... Who knows?

I use cheap plastic tupperware from the dollar store, one tray with holes I drilled myself for drainage and a solid one underneath for watering. They're sturdy and cheap as hell, they've latest me over 3 years already. Word to the wise - any gardening related products will be marked-up like crazy. Think outside the box!

Another added benefit of the tupperware I use is that it's made of clear plastic, so I get to see the roots growing WHICH IS SO COOL. It really helps with watering too, I can see what the level of soil moisture is at different layers in the soil

Thanks for the suggestion tom, I don't think that would work on a commercial scale and time is money so the time you are spending to find and make these may not be worth the lesser cost in $$. Time is your most valuable asset

Well donny i got the deeper trays a little bit ago cause everyone was using them to just stack on top for weight, yes its going to use more soil :(

you don't need to use more soil, only fill up a 2" tray 1/2 way

We do ship to the UK however shipping and Tariffs make it pretty cost prohibitive.
