If you are still a cassette enthusiast like me, you have probably noticed that blank tapes can be very hard to find these days. And often when you do find them (especially online), they can be incredibly expensive. Even still sealed old blank tapes sell for a premium.
But what do you do if you love blank tapes, but you are not incredibly rich? Where should you look for blank tapes if you don't want to break your bank account? That is exactly what I look at in this video.
In this video, I talk about places where you should look where you may find affordable blank cassettes. You may be surprised by some of the places that I suggest. Maybe none of these ever occurred to you. The places I mention in this video are not rare or inaccessible. Many of these sellers can be found in pretty much any city or town, even if you live in a very small town.
I base a lot of this upon my years of being very budget conscious, and being a diehard thrift shop connoisseur. I have visited many, many second hand shops over the years, and a lot of what I share in this video comes from those experiences. Again, this is nothing outrageous or peculiar. This may even include places that are right down the street from you, but you never thought about looking there.
Of course, if you are looking for higher grade tapes, you may have to spend the high prices that online vendors are asking for. Yes, chrome tapes or metal tapes can be pretty difficult to track down, and when you do find them they are not cheap. However, you may be surprised just how easy it is to find normal bias blank cassettes (position 1).
In some cases, there may be friends, relatives or colleagues in your circle who have some sealed blank tapes, and would be willing to just GIVE them to you! It all comes back to talking to people and getting the word out.
