As an LA native, I can say your advice is on target! I'm currently living in the Southbay area (Torrance) which is safe, affordable, and within driving distance of all the major destinations. Great work on this video! 👍

Thank you so much! I'm moving to LA in November from Denver and I always love to hear from people that actually live there! I moved to Denver two years ago from NJ completely blind for a job and definitely did not want to do that again!

We’re looking to move from Atlanta to LA next year and so I’m watching all of these “where to live” videos. I have a 16 year old son son, so schools are pretty important. So I’m looking at Burbank, West Hollywood, Culver City, and Mid-City. Your video are great so keep it up!

@@nyanontee we ended up moving last July and it’s been great. We chose the Fairfax / Beverly Grove area. It’s close to everything. It’s definitely expensive but I really like it.

@@mychaelawilliams I’m a Flight Attendant, so I’m wanting to live somewhere closer to the airport but I also want to live somewhere that’s safe for a single woman who will be away from home often 😬 😅

@@nyanontee any of the beach towns near there would be great. Marina Del Ray, El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, and Torrance. They’re all a short drive to the airport and family friendly.

This is great, thank you! I'm moving from ATL to LA soon and we're looking around West Hollywood and Los Feliz/ Silverlake area. Any thoughts you have on those other two neighborhoods would be really appreciated. This vid was really helpful :)

@@deannahenry8925 that’s not a good reason to stay in the city. It’s true that it’s cheaper but empower people to follow their dreams…plenty people do it and not everyone is looking for cheaper

Silver lake is a really nice/hipster area. Similar to little 5 points in Atlanta, if you’re familiar with Atlanta. Just like every big Urban city, there’s going to be a “hood” the closer you move to downtown and inner city

Also. Traffic in Atlanta is way worse so warning about Traffic are like eh. If you drive here or live in a walkable area it’s the same, minus a beach

I hate driving, i wont drive and i im not planning on Drive. Im staying at Thousand Oaks wish is kinda LA area . Its a very fancy nice area. But 0 walkable all its spread out and chill . So im planning on moving out to Chicago, Seattle or Miami or New York? Or show i keep in the area ????

For someone who wants to be close to the beach, what areas do you guys recommend, and a friend was saying Santa Clarita, is that close to a beach?

Not at all. Santa Clarita is deep inland and almost out of typical southern California and into the desert towns

Culinary in Pasadena. What are your thoughts on Lil Tokyo, or is Glendale the better option?

Hi! I don’t know a lot about that area, so I wouldn’t be able to offer much advice on it. I do know it’s near the downtown LA area, if the city & arts life is something you are particularly interested in you may want to consider it. Very different energy from Glendale. I personally enjoy the Glendale area.

Definitely Pasadena, I’ve lived here in Pasadena for 10 yrs now. I hate Glendale, it has a weird energy there. Lil Tokyo can be nice if you want that city vibe but it’s surrounded by a lot of high schools so there are a lot of kids acting a fool lol ( i used to be one of them) Pasadena or Altadena is your best bet if you want a small town feel

Bienvenido to our little piece of paradise. You have barely scratched the surface my dear. There are 18,700,000+ inhabitants (almost half of which are latino) in the greater LA metro sprawl, living in approx 200 connected cities that overlap into 4 surrounding counties, north south & eastward. Wanna blow your wad, try to live anywhere within 20 miles of the ocean. Wanna save your wad, move 30-40 miles eastward toward the I.E. Wanna live in the safest areas, move eastward into the foothill communities above the 210fwy. If you love nature - more trees, mountains, snow, rivers, lakes, waterfalls, spread out terrain, less ppl/traffic, more affordable housing & a better, more laid back quality of life - once again, move eastward or to north county over the mountains into the high desert. From the I.E. to the desert, there's still plenty room to grow, unlike most areas south & west of the mountains that divide north & south LA county. There are many hidden gems in the far east, & definitely more bang for your buck out there. Unfortunately, most ppl (including angelinos) miss out on some of the Southland's best features (& deals) imo, because too many ppl focus on the glitz & glamor aspect when they visit. Beaches, Hollywood, Disneyland & gang life tend to get all the hype. Too bad. 2 years ain't a long time in a place this big. There's much more to this part of the world than meets the eye. Of course, my comment is intended for the curious, non angelino masses, but while you're here, I truly hope you get a chance to expand your palette with as many unique Southland experiences as possible. If you notice, I did at least say that the safest areas to live are above the 210fwy in the foothill communities, which is absolutely true. It's a little more expensive than below the 210fwy but still cheaper than some dangerous, more congested areas of LA. No cap. I live out here & have plenty friends spread out through the 4 counties. There's a difference & the IE is def more laid back than the central metro area. There are many peaceful & safe living areas out here. Facts

Great comment. Thank you. Where would you live if you were a surfer though? Is anything in SoCal affordable? I'm from Florida and I love small towns. I work full-time in a warehouse and I bartend on the weekends, so I make less than $1k a week. Thank you! Hope you see this comment

Inglewood is such a neglected city, it’s really bad over there. It also has the forum so during concert season it’s crazy.

Y’all crazy paying 1400 bucks for a studio just to say I live in LA. People think smart find a place where u can live comfortable paying less in rent save money and go visit LA instead of being trapped in the hype and ur broke every end of the month

This is so funny, my studio apartment really is 1450 bucks a month!! 😂 But the difference is that I’m not broke at the end of every month, the awesome thing about LA is that there’s so much opportunity for many career types. Including mine! It pays well and this rent is not a problem. I don’t know anyone who lives in LA “just to say” that they do
