I was a Pokemon kid who didn't have anything to do with Digimon but on a recent shopping trip with friends I picked up a 20th out of a sales bin because I wanted a Tamagotchi type device and was curious about Digimon...now I'm obsessed and looking into buying more, so this video has been super, super helpful. I really appreciate how clear and concise everything was broken down with all of the pros and cons :) I think my next digivice will definitely be an X now that I've mastered the basics with the 20th lol.

One thing i love about the 20s is that for a fighting game nut such as myself, the combat system appears to have a lot more depth than it appears on the surface and this comes from hundreds of hours of observing the fights and experimenting with different combinations of the power meter and the mon's weight values. There are hidden values for attack and defense that the device doesn't show you and they appear to be influenced by the mon's weight value which in turn affects how the fights play out, they appear random on a surface level because for the most part they kinda are however i have noticed Instances like during tag battles when one mon takes damage and tags out and the other comes in and goes the entire match without taking a hit and carries the entire fight, the fighting game geek in me tells me there is no way this is 100% random but nothing concrete tells me it isn't either because although these results can be replicated there is still the random factor which plays a major role. Even in a 90% chance of winning if the random factor picks lose, your mon will lose😂 so my recommendation for the DM20 if you wanna get one is this: the DM20 is the fighting game version of the current Vpet devices, perfect if you like experimentation, trial and error

So happy with the X, but the sleep schedule is the one blemish of the device for me. Seeing the nap feature on the 20 begs the question.... why can't they provide BOTH naps and freezing options? Doesn't feel as "realistic" to freeze progress every night when it starts going to bed at 11 and 12, vs using the nap feature to put them to bed early. Plus, I want them to evolve asap and freezing overnight eliminates hours of progress.

I started with the OG Version 1 Digimon V-pet in middle school, but lost it. I also has some of the anime ones and a few I got from Japan and Asia only English Versions in high school and my early 20s. My favorite is the pendulum x. I lost all of them during a move. I recently got back into them while going through a tough personal time and Digimon v-pets being an emotional support for me. I've ordered all of these before seeing this video with the Digimon 20th just getting in the mail today (I'm an American living in Austria atm). Glad to see that I'm going in the similar direction as some of the current influencers when starting them again 😊

Apparently you can change the color to english and also there are hardware devices to allow battling non-color digimon!

Why isn’t Bandai developing an app for a smart watches for this market. Even make wrist bands for the devices. Us grown up kids would love this. So much potential, with details, more content, more support. Hell keep the classic Digimon free and maybe charge for additional Digimon. I’m actually so surprise nintendo and Bandai haven’t done this like the Nintendo did with the Pokewalker. Shoot with Pokemon Go, and the Pokeball controller, I think smartwatch compatibility would add to fitness watch sales and promote the original concept of Pokemon Go to drive people to be more “Adventurous” and be physically active.

For the 20th, if you want less poop, you can wait 30 minutes after hatching the first egg before you hatch the second one. If you hatch them both at the same time, they'll poop 2 at a time instead of taking turns so it'll only take 2 poop cycles before the screen is filled.

I've been a fan of the channel for a few years...just never comment. A few years back, I bought a 20th Digivice for me and one for each of my kids and it was because of your tutorial videos that you did back when they were first released. Thanks man! I still carry around a Digimon device at all times (collected a lot more since then), it's an awesome little friend that never seems to get boring. So many different monsters and tag team battle combinations you can do. You sort of form a bond with these little pixel dudes. My goal is to beat the colosseum, both solo and tag with all the characters that I can (I have a chart to keep track). Total blast to battle with the built in AI characters (kind of creates the illusion of battling with random people) or family members. I also take it on hikes and walks and wake them up for battles while laying in bed. Fun to battle and care for them when out and about. I was a 90s kid, but was never really into Digimon and though of it as a rip off (how wrong I was). I was more into Tamagotchi and Pokemon (Embarrassing that I didn't even realize Digimon was a sort of spinoff boys Tamagotchi). I love the Monster designs, charming as heck. I missed out back then, but I am catching up now. Fan for life now of both you and the series.

During Covid stuck at home with my housemate we spent time speaking about life nostalgia and all until mentioning tamagotchi so after a little research on Amazon we discovered it was still a thing and days after I found myself raising 4 tamagotchi and Digimons 😂

I didnt follow the anime or the video games, i strictly had a couple OG digimon virtual pets growing up. It was a blast seeing all my favorites and discovering the wider world of digimon, discovering all the mons i never knew of, which led me here to this channel a few years back. Got started over the holidays with a Digivice X (version c), currently have a Demon-X after one hell of a time raising my first Digimon in-person, from Black Agumon X, to Kuwagamon X, to Mametyramon, to Chaosdramon-X to a surprise duel with Demon-X that ended with my boy evolving into him the same night! One hell of a journey, absolutely agree with this video, really reccomend a v-pet (definitely the X) to any Digimon fan.

Been looking for something like this for ages. I have several of them as I live in Japan(20th omega, Pendulum Z, Color versions, etc), even the VB and the newer version but I never can get hooked to them so the advice is more than welcome. Great video!

I recently owned the Vital bracelet BE and since I never owned a Digimon V-pet back as a kid. This video really helped me decide what to get as my very first Digimon v-pet. I recently ordered the Numemon Ver.20th and there certainly was a fair bit of sticker shock at the price considering how cheap English v20s go. Such is the hobby, though. Someday I’ll take out a small loan to get a Pendulum X :p

I’ve got a BE which I love but been wanting to try my first traditional vpet so this video was exactly what I needed! After this, I think I’ll actually be getting a Colo(u)r. I get overwhelmed easily and having too many choices/options in a game etc can really hamper my ability to enjoy it so the simpler gameplay and small roster sound perfect for me. I love my DMX XA red and black. It’s like a mini RPG v pet that I can wear on my lanyard when I’m out and about. I love the quest mode. I have had mine since Valentine’s Day but only now just found a good guide for the new batteries.

Definitely start from the 20th version. It got plenty of eggs, and if you have two, you can have additional eggs depending on how you use them. If you want an upgrade, the next would be X's. And if you have the money, then get Pendulum. If available, better get the Pendulum 20th also, as it has a lot of eggs.

an important thing to note imo is that leveling on the x1 is a huge chore in comparison to the x2. i have my x1's paused for a while now because i don't feel like grinding up levels

Hey man! Great informative video! The freeze feature is such a big deal to me since I'm afraid I might forget about my digimon and they'd just die. But then again digimon adventure is a huge part of my of my childhood and the main reason I'm getting this. Any advice on which one I should consider more?

I started getting into these during covid when Digimon started popping up again. I started with a version 20 which was a lot of fun but I really recommend the X to people I know because it has a bit more to interact with. Both are awesome to start with. I also grabbed the Digivice V which was a really awesome time but I almost completely stopped using it after they switched apps. Even just using it as motivation to get out and move around to raise new Digimon is still a really fun concept. My biggest wish is to have some features from the Digimon Color brought to devices with more content like the X, it probably won't happen any time soon so I think getting a 20 or the x now is a steal.

My reason to buy is X-Antibody Digimons, Metal Garurumon X is my favorito!

I've off from raising Vpet for a longggggg time, last time I remembered was Digimon Twin and I'm not playing it much, mostly just the OG V1 and some Pendulum. Just came back recently with the Color, it's like going back to childhood except with a new coat of paint (Literally). Waiting for V3-5 to come out. I also bought VBBE and get some enjoyment, but I'm kinda disappointed in its battery life, Color can last like a full week with each charges while VBBE isn't even pass 1 or 2 days. And I don't like that both of them DON'T have a number percentage shown as it's difficult to keep track of when I should charge (Aside from when it's red) or when I should plug them off from charging (Aside from when it's full), I can't just keep them between 20-80% because I don't know how much they have left.

I do like we got a color version of the og Vpet I do just i wish they make bigger one like tamagotchis we get the bigger sprite arts and some online stuff

I would really love to hear your opinion on future Digimon color models that you think might be coming out like features added, Where does digimon decide to go from here, and if they're selling well? I really do love the vitalbracelet be the main reason are the dim cards and of course I actually love the gameplay biggest problem is indeed the app but to explain why there's no vs dim it's actually because of the original vs dim not being able to store bems and making a new vs dim to accomplish that would confuse customers the only way I could see bandai adding local pvp would be nfc also psss the app they're adding back raids starting with omegamon
