We aren’t talking long term, we are talking next season, and Tottenham are going to be a threat. United will be better, Newcastle too. You’re 100% correct when you say the window has just opened and it’s early, but one thing won’t change, and that is Arteta at the helm, which to me is Arsenals biggest problem. Too big a club for him, he isn’t good enough for them yet, and I honestly think that by Christmas Arsenal fans will be screaming for his head.

Last season we managed to win 22 PL games with the youngest squad in the league and now with big additions like Tielemans and Jesus I really don't see why we can't be competing for top4 once again.. Arteta does get it wrong sometimes like when we have big injuries to Tierney and Partey and he plays Xhaka at LB but outside of that he's proven through results against Chelsea, United and the 20 other wins he's a good manager. The only thing I believe that's held us back the last two seasons is either a toxic atmosphere which has been removed and a small squad that's being addressed. I think everyone will be surprised by Arsenal.

Tavares is a headless 🐤 who can't defend and looks terrible, Lokonga has barely played, Tomiyasu looked ok but starting to be injured along, Ramsdale started good but faded away end of the year. As a neutral, I wouldn’t put anything past Conte. Nobody in world football gets more out of players than he does. If he gets what he wants, which it seems he may, I think spurs fans are going to have a very happy season, and many pundits will be eating their words.

As an Arsenal fan I actually do think Tottenham have a fair chance at second ... I genuinely do. I think losing Mane is massive for Liverpool and Darwin Nunez is still an unknown... I still expect Liverpool to retain second but not by much... I fear Spurs have built a good enough squad under Conte to be a threat. People don't want to admit it either... but Arsenal will be dangerous if Gabriel Jesus joins Fabrio Vieira and say Raphinha... that will easily overtake Chelsea.. easily.... It would surely force Tuchel to dig into getting say a Lautaro Martinez to fight for fourth spot. United are miles behind... miles back of the top 5 in my opinion.... I don’t think Liverpool are a better side with that switch. City absolutely are better, but there’s always the question of bringing in a position that they haven’t played with for years, and will it disrupt them somewhat. I don’t think so, but it is a question. Tottenham are showing real intent, and Conte is a winner. I don’t feel they will have a side that matches Liverpool or City, but they most definitely have in Conte someone who brings out the very best in players. United are too much of an unknown quantity. You look at them on paper and as individuals and they have real class players, but for too long they have been managed terribly and there has been total discord. West Ham may be better, but for me, going on what Howe is getting from Newcastle and what he did since he took over I can really see them disrupting the top 6, and in future the top 6 will be the top 7. Chelsea is unknown. They have lost huge players, especially Rudiger who bossed that defence, and it remains to be seen what happens with how they will be managed and how well they spend. They may be great, but they also may fall off. As for Arsenal, there is talent in that side, they are young and will clearly get better. Jesus will come in and be effective at the front, but remember they had Aubamayeng, who is a better player than Jesus. Arsenal fans are die hard and no matter how bad a player is they stick up for him. But it is this back at all costs attitude that I feel firstly shows when they are always blaming referees, or injuries, or all sorts of issues that every other team faces. Take De Bruine for instance, the general at City, best player in the league, missed 9 premier league matches last season. It is this die hard fandom that sometimes causes fans not to see what’s staring them in the face. Arteta has been given £400m to spend, he couldn’t handle their best players, and he bottled top 4 handing a trajectory to Tottenham that will put them miles behind for years to come. Arsenal is too big for Arteta, in every way, and I don’t see Arsenal being true challengers for anything with him at the helm.
