Sometimes he's from the Fire Nation. Other times he's from Neverland.

Being a poorer kid isn't fun, I think we've all deduced that. I come from a scraping and scratching family, always looking for the stray dollars in between the cracks of the couch. I'm living in a hotel right now and I can't say that I'll be sleeping in a bed tomorrow. Thank you Dante. Thank you for being you.

Yeeeeeaaaahhh Boy yeah. This is my style, the poetry I like. It's not black it's not white, not worried about being nice. It's just about...life....and it rhymes. Keep sharin' Dante.

As a lyricist and musician, I must say that this was a work of art. The intonation was delivered perfectly. The rhythm was silent, yet still there. It was said with confidence, and therefore it became that much more believable. Most of all, it was actually about something that was positive. Well done Dante! Keep it up!

That was one of my favorites, I love the way you performed it.

I just love how the start and the end of the poem seemed to answer to each other -- like, you started off, establishing your identity, then go off in this tirade about how others see you, and then you talk about wanting to go home. It's both grounding and defiant, and I love it.

BEAUTIFUL MAN!

the highest moment of my life was when i met this absolute ball of light of a man at colossal con in sandusky ohio this june. he called me onto the stage with a small group of poets beside me, and with my phone held out in front of the mic i poured out my soul to the seemingly unblinking crowd, as i knew this man stood right out of my field of view. as i walked back to my appt with my heart on the floor deafened by my self amplified applause the man walked to my side, looked me in the eyes and called me incredible. that’s the exact word he used- incredible. i’m never going to forget the way it rolled into my chest from his lips shaping an adrenaline rush like none ever created before. i practically cut him off with shaky leg gratitude, and immediately requested he called my friend onto the stage. you see she had her own words to say, and i couldn’t have lived with myself if i just let her sit, no matter how much it pained me to take this moment away from myself. to this day i wonder what he would have said, if i hadn’t drove both our words alike down a path i knew i should take. to this day i wonder what he would have spoken to me. to this day i still hope that dante basco finds my outstretched plea, to reply to the girl you photographed and put on your instagram story, the girl you called incredible, the girl who wants nothing more than to have you as her peer, if only for a moment, to join ourselves as poets alike once more. i pray that he hears me.
