"Recon" Procedes to use a short barreled AR, topped with an EOTech... Maybe I just don't know what I'm talking about, being a (Canadian😬) civilian. But doesn't that not really suit the, "recon" role? Unless maybe in a dense urban environment...? maybe...? Even then, there is still long sight lines available, which I'd think you would be taking full advantage of, in a "recon" role. Maybe I"m wrong?
@Mr6Sinner
@Mr6Sinner Жыл бұрын
@@darksidetize5183 recon doesn’t necessarily mean sniper as were led to believe by most video games. Recon, as the name implies, is tasked with reconnaissance. If you listen closely, you can tell that the AR he’s got is not only suppressed, but shooting subsonic ammo. Sometimes recon has to get close to the enemy, best to have a weapon that it the least likely to be heard.
@darksidetize5183
@darksidetize5183 Жыл бұрын
@@Mr6Sinner You would think you would want a weapon with say, an LPVO and offset red dot or something like that right? That way you could take long(ish) distance shots and/or gather information for an assaulter force etc, etc…Generally reconnaissance doesn’t really involve a “sniper” role right? At least that’s what I gather from my limited research on that specific mission set.🤷‍♂️

Also a buckle that fits through holster slots is premium.

I've been running a GBRS Group Assaulter Belt V2, and it's been a mainstay in my kit for over a year, prior to that I was using a Ronin belt that was my first belt I had purchased. I'm very pleased with the GBRS belt so far, it's held up to a lot of aggressive use and still holds all my gear attached to it with good rigidity. Definitely a product I'd recommend to other shooters looking at getting a solid belt.
@serene_potato
@serene_potato Жыл бұрын
The thing with the GBRS Group Assaulter Belt is that it comes with a 3rd belt that is used to cover the inner belt for that very reason. GBRS's logic with this reversed setup is that when you put on the outer belt you won't have any exposed skin getting rubbed against the rough hook material that would normally be facing into your body. Plus the inner belt cover can act as a stand alone EDC belt (which works wonderfully). Not everyone's cup of tea, but that's why there are so many options for belts out there.

@None Which is completely stupid. If you read on the advantages of flipping it far outweighs the "normal". Also as with the Eagle belt, it makes it so you can wear them over winter jackets and other clothing and not tear your garments to shit. As someone who owns many of these, this is not that great of a belt. I can tell what issues it has just by looking at it. The best one I own to date is the AXL eclipse. Very light weight and it supports your kit SO well. You barely feel the weight with it fully loaded out.

I totally agree about not wearing the 2 piece style belts on top of clothing, however, I do store mine in this configuration just in case I have to throw it on very quickly and don't have time to thread it into my belt loops. This is more for a "bump in the night" or "oh sh*t" situation where I have to react immediately. I also do this because I currently can't afford to own both a 2 piece setup and an over the clothes setup.

Wow!!! Great job on your belt design. I've been looking for a 2 piece belt off and on for over 5 years. I haven't found a belt that I have wanted yet, until now. Great job. Very slick and easy to setup. Doesn't grab attention, and seems quite sturdy as well. I may have to pick one up soon. Thx!!!!

The eagle belt was designed the reverse way for the navy. They needed a belt that could work with a wetsuit and wouldn’t tear it and that gave them the ability to do that. Also it’s more comfortable to not have hook against your body.

The Velcro pasthroughs so your outer to inner belt connection is unobstructed is a neat feature. With my belt (Kore essentials battle belt with the ratcheting buckle.) I resorted to putting Velcro on the back of my tekloks on my mars carriers so my outer belt stays stuck to my inner belt. This is a good solution.

There's the EDC belt Garand Thumb helped make. Cigeurra gear I think. They make a version with the loop on the outside. Been using it at work the last couple months and it works great. Ridged, comfortable, and it's a regular belt that doubles as an inner belt.

Crazy how a year later T.REX's belt had such an influence in the industry they almost outright killed putting MOLLE on belts, they certainly spawned the use of passthroughs that's for sure.

Bianchi accumold left over from a contract security gig made my belt for a long time. Hook and loop to itself inner belt that went thru the loops and a "duty belt" clipped on over it with some snap on keepers. 5 keepers did just fine for me. Malice clips kind of took over as looks became less important as it moved into more of a shooting only setup. The Taser/ Pepper spray was replaced with spare rifle /shotty or pistol ammo depending on what I was doing. The duty belt was basically an anchored war belt and was stable yet flexible enough and was probably 3 inches with the inner belt being more normal sized and fit through belt loops fine. The keepers gave enough flex the dutybelt was not gouging me, but the extra width gave a secure and stable connection for the magazines, flashlights, knife and other stuff.

Lucas, thank you for making this video. It was extremely informative. I really appreciate learning about Minerva Tactical’s Enhanced Shooter Belt Pad. Unfortunately, they aren’t manufacturing them right now and don’t expect to have any in stock until the end of summer. Since they don’t have any of their belt pads in stock, I went out online and found something very close that I think will work until I can get Minerva’s belt pad. I have an older padded battle belt and I really love it, but it is kind of a one and done when setting it up. The belt pad system will allow me to setup the new outer belt of the two belt systems and gives me greater flexibility in how I wear it. I was also excited to see the T. Rex Arms Silencer holster. I have been wanting a way to carry my handguns with a silencer and you have just showed me the best option. Again, thank you for the video.
