That 214 solo is already a part of the Phil music history. Parang adlib ng Hotel California. You CAN'T mess with it. Only guitarists would understand Thad's how BEAUTIFULLY it was made. To me, that song should have been an international hit.

Perf guitar solo obviously. I am hooked to Rivermaya way back 94 when i was 9 years old because of their 1st album. Awit ng Kabataan and 214 are both iconic songs with legendary solos. Rico Blanco version is obviously within the style of his music. We cannot expect Rico Blanco to do Perf's solo as melodic as it is. Again, its his style. Both are legends. Respect.

Rico cant do Perf 214/Awit ng Kabataan..everyone contributed to the first album of rivermaya. but as BAND any composer who wrote the song have more power to copyright owner. I wish they also give copyright for Guitarist, Drummer, Bass for doing their beats/melody/chords

I will call it 214 ERA The original solo presents the past and the new solo represents the new 214. But for my opinion, hindi ko talaga ma intindihan ang gawa ni Sir Rico though matagal ko na syang narinig pero hindi sya nag tutugma sa boung kanta di katulad nong original na malinis. But still appreciated pa din respect for new 214 but i will go for Mr. Perfecto. for the love of MUSIC!

yung kay perf parang buhay na ilog smooth ang daloy at kalmado ang blending syempre sya gumawa noon. yung kay rico parang patay na ilog na biglang bumaha ng malaki washout lahat ng puno damo at puno pati bato sa tabi at pagkatapos ng baha ganon parin, patay na ilog parin. Kung ako a advice kay rico sabihin ko ric sa piano at vocals kana lang mag focus kasi doon ka magaling bigay na lang natin sa guitarista ang guitar solo..

Even a small children will notice. The difference, sa mga nagpreretend diyan na pabor Kay Koricks kahit saan mong tignan na angulo eh wala talagang konenck sa melody ng kanta, sa solo na ginawa niyang ito. It's not only the song or lyrics makes the song sound good it's the combination of music instruments, melody, creativity and good composition:)

Nope, very musical, mas may character, unique and distinct yung kay rico pinag isipan para bumagay sa kanta. On the other hand, musical din nmn yung kay perf pero mas showcase nya yung techniques and skill sa guitar na may mga unnecessary shredding and dive bomb (in my opinion) na very 80s solo inspired which is idunno if bagay ba talaga sa theme ng music😅 i guess preference nlng talga

But this one is soo bad, that its like it doesn't fit with the song at all, I don't mind improvising different guitar solo as long it's in tune or in sync other that the original one I appreciate it as long as it good to your ear, but this one is sucks!

@@stilots1 i think you need to listen to other genres of music to appreciate what Sir RB did. It sounded off when you heard it at first pero kapag pinakinggan mong mabuti pasok lahat ng notes and may character because of the very modal way his playing which gives it a very mysterious/strange vibe. Ganyan din po ako dati sir hirap hirap intindihin yung mga old blues and psychedelic, and jazz type of music, kala ko dati mga sintonado sila pero the more you listen the more you’ll appreciate their musicality.
