I just don’t see a lot of stuff out there where I can buy in for $20-40 and compete with less than 10,000 people. Draftkings maybe?

$44 on DK is not a bad choice

@@MD-jf1ml what has your experience been like on DK? I have done most of my drafting on FFPC. (1.5 pt TE premium, 20 rounds, RB heavy). I have completed 1 on Underdog, none on DK. Can you give me any obvious things to look out for?

@jordanw1649 Rooms are a bit softer. They have a draft board now which is a massive upgrade. It's Full PPR, and you get a 3 point bonus for 100 yards rushing or catching Think 3 pt bonus for 300 yards passing as well

I did my first underdog draft on Friday and got auto picked three of my first four picks. Couldn’t figure it out. Then realized it’s a 3 WR format. Yeah, lessons learned. Left the draft with 4 or 5 total WR

The countdown clock on UD is notorious for lagging behind and you get auto picked. Def throw someone in the queue just in case

I dont even understand this. I've had a thousand best ball teams over the years but they were all 10-12 team regular drafts. This whole small field large field and huge pay outs thing makes no sense to me. I put a dollar into a draft and if i win i get like ten bucks. Its always been that simple and I just don't understand this. How can people get paid for getting tenth place? Does everyone get paid regardless of placement?

AIUI, Adam & Mike are referring to tenth place in tournaments with (typically) thousands of players, sometimes tens or even hundreds of thousands of players. The prizes for the top places (like 10th) are typically in the stratosphere. What you *may* have been drafting in are league-style (as contrasted with tournament-style) best ball drafts, where there are just (typically) 10 or 12 - and sometimes between 3 and 20 - players. And where, at least in 10- or 12-person drafts, typically the top 2 or 3 places receive (often modest) winnings. Many of the best ball platforms (like Underdog and DraftKings) offer both styles of best ball. Some might offer only one or the other? (I don't recall if either Yahoo or FanDuel offer tournaments, for instance.)

The underdog app is unreliable on my android. Missing picks because it needs to be closed and restarted is infuriating. Slow drafts are the only kind I can play on my phone.

To me this might be the single biggest argument in favor of any content right now. It currently projects for MASSIVE overlay.

This is a very important point, we wanted to speak more generally so the advice could apply months and years out -- but you are correct, overlay is essentially free money (in the form of higher expected value)

@@EstablishTheRun The one other unusual attribute of the Drafters tourneys (some or all?) is that there are no playoffs: they just are a huge pool, and whichever teams have the 'n' highest point totals through Week 17 (or whatever) receive a graduated set of prizes. They don't have the usual, successive elimination rounds in Weeks 15-17. That's worth mentioning, if you hadn't already somewhere in the video? That is, that at least one site, and maybe more than one (?), offer "no playoffs" GPPs. So points earned in Week 1 are equally as valuable as those earned in Weeks 15-17, which also removes the complexity of having to consider team matchups in those playoff weeks, correlations and "bringbacks," etc.

DK 10$ contest is crazy sometimes . Think I've seen everything almost in there one draft . a player had 6-2-5-7 build her 2rbs where chubba Hubbard and DeeJay dallas . I think we all donated our 10$ in that draft

I'd say 20% of my DK $10 best ball drafts go haywire due to people being so unpredictable. The other 80% outweigh that though. I find it way easier to get optimal roster construction on DK than Underdog due to people not respecting the importance of WRs in a PPR format
