North Coast Church Summer Class 2022.
With dozens of Bible translations available today, it can be difficult knowing which one is best for me. In this session we will discuss the nature of Bible translation, what makes translations different, and what the strengths and weaknesses are for various versions.
Mark Strauss is an author, renowned speaker and University Professor of New testament at Bethel University.

We're blessed to have so many good (not perfect) translations in English. Many languages have no complete translations of the Bible, or only one translation that would likely be average if evaluated by our standards, or at best maybe a handful of good translations.

Use one and stick with it. James 1:8.

Here's my list of Bible Translations that I use: 1. New King James Version 2. New International Version 1984 3. New American Standard Bible 1995 4. King James Version 5. English Standard Version 6. Holman Christian Standard Bible 7. Christian Standard Bible 8. New Living Translation

I find it sad recent up-dates have been failure. The NIV-2O11 is NOT an improvement to the NIV-84. The NASB-2020 is NOT an improvement to the NASB-95. The ESV-2016 is NOT an improvement to the ESV-2011. The NWT-2013 is NOT an improvement to the ( Sorry to mention the NWT Bible. I just mention it to show that translators- of ALL groups- have gotten really lazy over the past 15 years.)
