I feel Squidward would’ve fit quite well as a playable character in the game. The Robo-Patrick boss could’ve been the point where you start playing as him, as Robo-Patrick could’ve freezed Spongebob, Sandy and Patrick, leaving Squidward to fight him, using his clarinet to hit his back from afar due to all the acid making it impossible to go near him.

The reason why you couldn't actually defeat the final boss is because in this game you have to destroy all the fuses instead of just the three in the brain. You skipped the one you have to use the bubble bash for because you couldn't hit it, so the boss was technically never finished. If you watch Any% speedruns of this game you can see that the players skip later into the fight, but still use the cruise bubble to hit the fuses they skipped so the game actually finishes. Also, does Squidward normally have the cruise bubble when playing as him in story mode or did you use a code to give him that? Because I don't recall him having it when I played as him in the story mode.

I don't get why squidward couldn't just be a playable character in the first place.

Interesting thing about robospongebob once you are inside, the game checks if ALL FUSES are destroyed. unlike in the first game where it checks the 3 brain fuses

I’ve always wanted squidward to be a playable character in the story mode of this game. They could’ve added a couple new areas to the game plus another boss fight where you actually fight Robo squidward (not what we got in the multiplayer) like actually fight him and stuff. Plus since there’s 3 levels within each hub area, there could’ve been one where you play as SpongeBob and Patrick, another where it’s SpongeBob and sandy, and another with SpongeBob and squidward.

I wish for the new update the game would include three new locations, and allow the playability of the multiplayers. Remake games should add more new and exclusive content

Finally a Squidward mod.

To be honest I think seeing the likes of squidward, Mr. Krabs, etc as playable characters is kinda jarring. SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy have a sort of inherent playfulness that makes them in combat much more plausible. With squidward and the others it just doesn't make sense to me, I can't imagine squidward being a fighter or doing anything of that nature.
