The other half sound like they're from England.

Must be alot of Irish living in scotland, that or there is a fade developing with Scottish speaking with Irish accents. The girls at the beginning had Scottish accents but they were a little watered down with English accents, the two young lads at the beginning also had Scottish accents as well as some of the older folk such as the guy in the orange jacket.

We visited UK for the first time in May this year. London and Bristol were quite disappointment (but I have to admit not to see much of London itself and Bristol was very dirty after the Friday night, which is the reason we didn't like it), But Edinburgh and the Highlands totally enchanted us.

@@Martina-Kosicanka This is what amateur travellers always say and honestly it's lazy. England has just as much, if not arguably more beauty than Scotland does. The difference is you have to spend some time in England to truly appreciate it and how much it has, whereas you can see everything Scotland has to offer in just a few days.

I'm a Turkish man and I'm very surprised Scottish people hate their neighbour England despite there are too many similarities between them. This situation just reminds me the relationship between my country and our neighbour country Greece. We also have many similarities and have been living together for centuries but we still hate each other. I don't think people actually hate each other. I think it all caused by the politic reasons.

scotland and englands history isnt the greatest. Scotland was dominated and stripped of its tartan by the english. It was banned to wear any tartan by the time it was over ruled it had become common not to wear it. hence why most scots no longer wear tradional dress like we used too. They attempted to take away the history and culture but failed.

My mom and dad spent a summer in Inverness in the late 90's. They loved it and apparently were quite well received. They went to some event and a large ensemble type band played the American national anthem. My folks were confused until someone explained they played it just for them. They told that story up until their deaths. So a big thank you to the people of Scotland for making such a wonderful experience for two beautiful people.

I could be wrong but from what I've seen it seems that way. Europeans act like they are all in shape and smart, they constantly say how Americans are dumb and fat and so many stupid things. I believe that's a behavior of people who need to put others down because of insecurity.

The second time after he inspired a armed mob to attack the seat of their democracy, and he still got 80 million votes, it doesn't speak well for the US. All I can say is there are also millions of nice people who don't flirt with right wing fascism, but they seem to be almost outnumbered. Lots of nice scenery there too. From the tropics, to the deserts. But it's not a place I'd like to visit, let alone live, at the moment. I'm not sure what happened to America.

The Jan 6 riot occurred in this span of time in response to the election results. The first Presidential election to be held after the Jan 6, 2021 riot would occur in 2024. Of 70m+ people vote for him in that election, then your assessment will hold true. Frankly, I think it’s shameful enough that many people voted for him before the riot took place, and endlessly frustrated that it was Biden of all people that the Democrats picked to send against Trump.

I visited twice just prior to the pandemic at Christmas time Rome is such an amazing city so much to do and see that takes your breath away I love fountains so I was in my element and the cuisine is amazing I love Italian food so I got myself into some of their amazing family restaurants quick style. They were on point here. Although I hesitate to use the word "hate". There's countries I don't respect, and others I do. The hostility most Scots feel towards England is justified. Their political and media class talk down Scotland, constantly, and block/reject/deny our democratic rights to decide for ourselves how we want to be governed. I like English people, I know plenty of nice people in England- thing is the countries are very misaligned politically, but England has the larger population, so they get to impose policies on us that we reject- like Conservative government and Brexit, which as a whole Scotland is in strong opposition to. There are historic reasons for the rivalry, but in modern times I think it is politics that divides us more than anything else.

I find the answers don't fully answer the question. Example I hear people say certain areas are horrible, given that this might be the case with ambience, uninteresting or unsightly, I found out what they really mean is the people. Anywhere can be nice but it's the people that seem to make all the difference. You hear people speak of beautiful places because it's a beautiful town or countryside but they might not have much experience of the locals to give their more definitive appraisal.

Edinburgh and Scotland are very international places these days. There are immigrants from all over the world. If they live there, and have legally emigrated..then they’re Scottish. When I was in Edinburgh I met people from all over the world there who told me they lived there for years and years simply because they feel at home there. I concur. ive been to england and hate it, i've got family who live there and they hate it compared to scotland. Scotland has so much more to offer and gives young people access to so much more than south of the border. The history behind scotland an england isnt really the greatest either. Scotland constantly wanting independence as it was for several thousand years before england was even together

The vast majority of Scots do not consider ourselves British, and never have. It was a term invented by the Romans to describe the English and Welsh, the parts of the island they had control of. Many centuries later, London tried to apply it to the entire island, but most Scots like myself don't recognise it, and wouldn't use it to identify ourselves. And of course we dislike our oppressors. You don't get to foce us to remain in a union we want no part of, and then ask why there's hostility.

We should all learn to spread love, Most times it amazes me greatly how I moved from an average lifestyle to earning over $63k per month, Utter shock is the word. I found her on a CNBC interview where she was featured and reached out to her afterwards. She has since provide entry and exit points on the securities I focus on. @@InkedRat Thank you myself and my family have traveled all over the United Kingdom and have found that no matter where we have always been treated with kindness and great hospitality. I love London I had my honeymoon in London and I have many relatives there in Camden Town and Kent. London is a amazing city unfortunately like mainly of our big cities it is being destroyed by our upperclass ‘woke’ elite.

Dont flatter yersel. We're not obsessed. We just dont want to be ruled by a bunch of Tory knobheads just because your lot are always suckin up their arses when theres a buck in it for ya. The only political party in Britain who actually keep their word are in Scotland. Thats why Scotland was nominated the worlds most progressive country at the beginning of this year until your Rishi Sunak broke the whole fundamentals of Democracy openly and opposed the Gender recognition Bill. A bill that was passed by an overall majority and they point blank refused it. Probably jealous that we wer got the nomination instead of you so had to break it. Of course, thats always been how England plays. But like you say, as an Englishman you enjoy seeing others done down. Thats why the world hates ye's.

You can never judge a country by its politics. In America usually about half the people vote on one side or the other. Then even if the person you voted for becomes president, that doesn't mean you approve of everything they do. In fact most people's opinions of voting is that you pick the lesser of two evils. Also once a president has been in office for some time it seems that only 25-40% of people actually approve of them. At this point in my life I've stopped voting all together, because whoever it is they are no good. I am powerless to make change to anything the government does. On a side note, so many people think America is great, but I am rightfully afraid that I will never be able to retire because the government doesn't have enough money for it and no one is bothering to fix it.

As a Scot i don’t like England because of their selfishness. The uk isn’t really looked at as Scotland, England, N. Ireland and whales; it’s more looked at as England and friends. When it was a debate if Scotland wanted to do something, it was England’s decision…

I've been to several Scottish cities... Edinburgh seems nice for a few days and then it becomes really dead and boring. I think Glasgow is much more modern and lively.
