I'm a bit cautious about using stand bobbins for rear axle protection. Most bobbins attach to the swingarm through a little welded tab. That tab has the potential to tear off your swingarm pretty easily. Better to attach your rear axle protection to something more substantial that won't shear off if it's ever subject to impact.

@@MrBCRC yes , true that, some swing arms have that sadly , but touchwood mine is ok , most racing swing arms are ok too .. good point

Nice video. I also installed some of that on my RS660 Extrema. You can actually can save a LOT of money with them even at a light slide Take care man !!!

Absolutely , both R and G and GB racing products have been amazing , I wish I was sponsored lol I always say positive things about them It’s worth going the extra mile for protection

Awesome little video Abhi, clear and informative, very useful and appreciated as always 👍🏻 Quick question though, more than one racer friend avoids using crash mushrooms that protrude excessively, instead opting for flush fitting protection where available or none at all. Apparently to try and avoid 'digging in' causing the bike to barrell roll, what are your thoughts, have you come across this approach before 🤷🏼‍♂️ Thanks for sharing as always Abhi, good luck at Donington, I may try to free an hour or two and have a ride down, give you some encouragement 💪🏻🏍️🙂👍🏻

That’s true Gareth , that’s definitely “the old adage” not to use bobbins which come out too much , but we can’t really simulate a perfect crash … If it flips it flips After 7 crash’s in 8 years (6 low sides , 1 high side, 1 bike flip on low side) .. I have now got the set up just right in terms of crash protection bits that not much gets damaged now on crashes for me. However , anything can happen when the bike is sliding into the unknown… These r and g bobbins don’t come our too too much They are absolutely amazing Always saved my bacon

It’s from r and g directly Things do tend to sell out as track Or race season begins sadly I bought mine in November But that’s my 4th one lol They are brilliant in a crash , r and g do an amazing job

Do you run the bike in standard road shifting pattern?

Always standard I tried race shift but didn’t enjoy it however I changed it after 15 mins One less thing to think about I didn’t get along with it Sometimes I miss it at certain corners but most corners are ok
