I was completely unfamiliar with that definition of “unicorn“ too. The last time I heard someone described as a unicorn, one of my college friends was talking about a mutual acquaintance of ours. She called him a unicorn, because he was a tall, really good looking, super nice guy with good values and ethics too. Like genuinely nice, friendly, considerate guy. She said he was a unicorn because they are so rare. LOL

I wonder this all the time! He definitely says unintentionally, _really_ funny things. I find that a lot of the crew also don't catch on when he's making a joke on purpose, so maybe, at some point, he stopped expecting what he said to come across as funny when he usually didn't get reactions. Sometimes Rhett doesn't get reactions either, but I think Link gets passed over more when it comes to the on-the-spot humor. Idk, regardless, he definitely makes me laugh a lot

Btw, a unicorn is also equally interested in both members of the couple. If not, she's not a unicorn. Pineapple on pizza is great... under the right conditions. It has to be Marketside (Walmart) 4 or 5 cheese pizza with grilled chicken strips and canned pineapple chunks, adding extra 4 or 5 cheese shreds.

"Unicorn Hunting" also refers to couples that are actively looking for a 3rd to join their relationship, and it's actually very looked down-upon by the poly community, because it comes across more as objectification and idealization, rather than genuine romance, bonding, and commitment.

As someone who is a "unicorn hunter" it is an agreement in my relationship that the third is a genuine match to both of us. That's why they're called unicorns. No objectification.

As a unicorn, I’ve found that some couples looking for a unicorn are looking for something to spice things up and that’s when it gets messy, but most couples I’ve met are communicative, kind and know what they’re doing, which has been really cool and sweet!

I'm straight (mostly 99%) and my girlfriend is bi, and its relationship dynamic that we seek, not very actively but if we were to find that special someone, the option is certainly there kind of thing.

I've never heard of the unicorn thing and I am not nor ever have been a swinger. When I lived in Florida I purchased two red Adirondack chairs just because I like the color red. These were in my backyard and not the front yard. I left them behind when I moved to S.C. where I live now.

I have most definitely heard the term unicorn before, and so have many other people in my classes (lots of queer people in my grad counseling program - it has come up in multicultural classes or gender/sexuality classes)
