I can teach you facts until I’m “blue in the face” as they say. But the fact is that most people respond to fear more than they respond to facts. Thus, the question for this video: “Is your fear of breast cancer strong enough to withstand the three big diseases of estrogen deficiency?” Tune in and test your gut’s reaction to various scenarios to answer the question.

Thank you for breaking all of this down for us! I am so tired of the irrational and illogical fear mongering surrounding hormone replacement. Women can make their own decisions, but for me, life without hormone replacement would not be much of a life. I'm so thankful for doctors like you who bravely speak about the FACTS. I am astounded that there is still so much resistance when it comes to not only giving women hormone replacement, but also giving a woman an appropriate dose! So many doctors refuse to go above 1mg of transdermal estridiol and instead of listening to a patient and giving her a slightly higher dose, the patient continues to be symptomatic based on risk factors that have been either overblown or based on faulty studies. Some women may need a little more than other and this should be an option! There is NO reason for women to continue to suffer. It strikes me as very ironic that a trans woman has an easier time getting female hormones in the dosages needed, than a menopausal woman. And before anyone thinks I'm anti trans, I'm not at all. I am making an observation. Women need treatment for menopause and they should be able to easily access this.
@MenopauseTaylor
@MenopauseTaylor 2 жыл бұрын
Your observations are correct, and it just goes to show you the power of fear. Doctors are doing what's in their legal best interest instead of what's in women's medical best interest ... all based on one faulty study that was treated like the menopause bible. (I have both a medical degree and a law degree, so I know precisely what's going on!) My goal is wake enough women up that they demand more. With so many women in denial and blind to the fact that they have been cheated, things will not change.
@kam0406

@Menopause Taylor You are waking women up! I've recommended your channel to women on the Menopause forum on Reddit, as well as to friends. Things are slowly improving, but it is ridiculous to have to fight for this. On a side note, our healthcare system is literally on the brink of collapse. Budgets have been cut so much ( and money is misused and wasted) that hospitals can't even afford to hire the proper security needed, let alone nurses and other healthcare workers. Our healthcare professionals are overworked, and this is not likely to improve anytime soon as the population continues to age. We desperately need a way to alleviate some of the pressure. One simple way would be to provide women with hormone replacement to ensure they don't end up in a long-term care facility with dementia. If we can delay the onset of dementia in roughly half the population by giving womone hrt, we could potentially cut billions from our Healthcare budget or allocate that money towards increasing wages for healthcare workers, as well as providing better care for those people who need mental health services, for starters. Thank you so much for everything you've done. Your hard work is literally helping women around the world become healthier and live their best life!

@kam0406
@kam0406 Жыл бұрын
@@shpresaneziri5971 yes! I am well aware of the difficulties in getting testosterone! It hasn't been studied much and doctors are reluctant to offer it. It's ridiculous. Hormones are necessary to life. You'd think women would be valued enough to restore a woman to full and vibrant health, but sadly, a woman's health is far behind the interest of big pharma. Hormones are not as big a money maker as all the drugs that treat the symptoms of the direct result of hormone deficiency. Anti depressants, drugs for diabetes, blood pressure, arthritis, heart disease and dementia are FAR more profitable- especially when you consider many woman will end up on several of these drugs without HRT! It is criminal the way profits are put ahead of the patient. We must get the word out. Doctors like Menopause Taylor are essential and literally saving women's lives! The best thing we can do right now is to talk to our friends, sisters, moms and every woman in our lives about Menopause! Share these videos! We can change things and circumvent the restrictions that are currently in place....and eventually things will change. We must DEMAND our doctors and insurance companies cover Hormones. You can appeal denials in insurance claims, Perhaps try that if your doctor will go to bat for you.

Every time I get my mammogram, the tech says "oh, you're still on estrogen?" My friends even question it. With a strong family history of Alzheimer's, osteoporosis and breast cancer (advanced age) I'm not going to regret being on estrogen if I get breast cancer some day. I see the diseases of estrogen deficiency on a regular basis at my mother's nursing home; mainly women with dementia, strokes, hip fractures, and spinal fractures who are wheelchair-bound. That's what I fear the most. Thank you as always for your excellent information!

Regarding your question - you may want to have a look at the book “Estrogen Matters” by medical oncologist (specializing in breast cancer) Avrum Bluming, MD and Carol Tavris, PhD. Dr Taylor has recommended this book as well in one of her earlier videos. There is a whole chapter on whether one can take estrogen after breast cancer - Bluming’s answer is yes. You can use the information in the book to talk with your doctor. Hope this helps.

No matter what your situation, you have to find a doctor who will give you what YOU want. And there ARE doctors who are logical in realizing that, if you've had breast cancer and cured it, you should not serve a life sentence of denial of your options. It's just more difficult to find such a doctor. But they definitely exist.

I had a breast biopsy due to microcalcifications found on my 3D mammogram (I have dense breasts). The biopsy showed scattered foci of atypical ductal hyperplasia, which I was told is not cancer, but is also not normal. I am worried that this may exclude me from being prescribed BHRT?

I fearlessly take transdermal estradiol gel everyday. But I am rightfully afraid of the progesterone! Current studies point to the combination HRT as raising the risk for breast cancer, especially when used for more than 5 years. Also I am half Ashkenazi Jewish, which I have read puts one at higher risk for breast cancer. It makes me almost wish I'd let them remove my uterus, rather than having a myomectomy. [almost] And sadly I learned at my gyn appointment that they don't offer ablation to post menopausal women. HOWEVER, as you point out, I am FAR more afraid of the rampant osteoporosis on my maternal Irish side. Emerging data points to micronized progesterone being the safest option. Results of one French study said that MP was not associated with increased risk of breast cancer, which was encouraging. I was taking MP vaginally, 3 days on and three days off, with no side effetcs but switched to every other day to avoid doing a cyclic regime. Unfortunately, even though it is the same amount of progesterone, taking it every other day gave me breast tenderness and tiredness. So I am switching back to my original regime. Waiting for more research on micronized progesterone, especially the vaginal route...

Love your videos. You are a lone voice in the wilderness. 😂 My body loves estrogen, and I’m miserable without it. I’ve tried HRT 3 different times, and each time I could never get balanced. Lining increased, even developed ovarian cyst. Oral prog made me bloated, vag prog gave me vertigo. 😭 Even in my fertile years, the only way I could stay pregnant was to use vag prog. I must have a prog intolerance? 🤷🏽‍♀️

Unfortunately for me, I am now 67 and am just getting all this information too late. Because my Dad's side of the family had easily clotting blood, they told me and my 4 sisters not to take birth control and then not take HRT. Menopause started in early 50's, sleep issues and hot flashes, everything else was fine. I am healthy, don't look my age, but I am definitely outside the " window 5-10 years" . The only issue is belly fat and weight gain.....So what can I do at this point? I exercise , my blood work is good but stubborn fat.....I feel like I hardly eat anything....the videos are great, but I feel like I missed the train....and now what do I do?

You have to complain of menopause symptoms. That’s the only way they will prescribe. To prevent symptoms. They will not treat for prevention of osteoporosis, heart attack and Alzheimer’s. You have to play the game. Complain long and hard of your symptoms. Google the list. They will first prescribe the lowest dose. Call the doctor after a month and keep complaining of your symptoms to get an appropriate dose to make you feel better. I’m in the process right now of writing to my nurse practitioner. She said she wouldn’t prescribe because I do not have hot flashes. She never asked me about any other symptoms and I did not know. My symptoms of memory loss, hard to focus, can read a book, waking up in a panic in the morning. These are things I would tell a therapist or psychiatrist not a gynecologist examining my dry hooha.

Tell them it's your life and you want HRT! The doctor can decide for themselves at their menopause if they want to take it, but the doctor playing games with your life and not letting you take the chance, well, that's wrong! Insist you get a script as nicely as you can...tell them it's MY life, MY choice and you've educated yourself!

I appreciate these videos, but I’ve had breast cancer and no one will prescribe HRT. I felt wonderful on it. I found a small lump that no doctors felt and didn’t show on a mammogram or ultrasound. I pushed for further testing which ultimately lead to finding a very low risk cancer that was caught early and treated. I would HAPPILY go through this treatment again if someone would give me HRT. I have a strong history of heart disease and Alzheimer’s. Alzheimer’s is so much worse than breast cancer. You’ve sold me on HRT (because I was already sold) but who will I get to prescribe it???

Once a woman gets breast cancer, her docs will have her come off hormones and will never prescribe estrogen to her again. I know they treat breast cancer with estrogen antagonists which scares me even more now that I know what estrogen deficiency can do to the body. Thinking about getting a prophylactic mastectomy so I can continue to take hormones. Is that too extreme?

I am not at all fearful of breast cancer. I am way older & way past the window of opportunity & at the doctor's office my blood pressure runs 186/120 but at home 104/70. I have always been terrified of doctors & I don't trust them at all. Because of my age & high blood pressure & history of past smoking & presently vaping I can't be prescribed HRT. But I have used so much phytoestrogen since the onset of menopause 16 to 17 years ago that post endometrial ablation I have grown a 2.2 mm lining & 5 fibroids that my gyno wants to monitor. But he knows he can't control or stop my HRT because it is all purchased over the counter. I am trying to figure out adding a proper amount of progesterone on my own. Progesterone creams come in 20 mg doses so by the ratio of Estrace I would have to use 40 mg estrodial cream & that would be unaffordable. I did find one supplement from Olly called Miss Mellow that has 100 mg of Dong Quai + 68 mg of soy isoflavones + 85 mg of Vitex which is pretty close to the balance of Estrace. I will be taking 1 of those + 1 40 mg soy isoflavones 4 times a day & continue daily putting 5 mg estriol on each of my feet, on each knee, on each hip, on each shoulder & 2 to 4 times a day on my hands because that amount has put all other joints besides my hands arthritis in remission. I am hoping that the amount of Vitex in the Miss Mellow supplement will be enough to put the crap going on in my uterus in remission. But breast cancer is not a concern I have ever had & I would tell a doc that had to remove one to remove the other so they would match & throw a freedom from bras party
