@@FarmallFanatic the mower is built as a tow behind the original tongue would have been bolted to the ears in the front of the deck and been a single stem and would have been shorter.. it was most likely the original tongue was built too light and bent and was replaced by this home built one. my uncle had one like this with a hand crank in the rear to raise and lower it.. the popular brands in my area were woods, bush hog servis rhino and brillion

I noticed that sometimes you press your thumb against the steering wheel! Never do that! Keep your thumbs around (under) or over the wheel. Thumbs against the wheel can be badly injured if the tractor hits a hole or whatever and causes the steering wheel to jerk. I learned that in the early 1950s.
@FarmallFanatic Жыл бұрын
Oh I was taught to do the opposite... Never put your thumb under, because when you hit a hole and that wheel comes around.. that bar will break your thumb right off.
@cephaswilliamson723 Жыл бұрын

We used to pull a 4 foot tow behind with our 200. I’m sure it probably would’ve run a 5 foot decently but that’s what we had. Used the fast hitch to raise and lower it. As many rocks as there are on the pastures we used to mow, I’m leery of pulling a tow behind with a straight drawbar and no way to lift the mower up.

With the weight of that hog I am sure the steering is lighter. It cuts really well. Over here, rear discharge cutters tend to have a row of short chains at the rear to stop the stones flying. Once you have hit it with the red paint it will be perfect

I thought you bought that Brush Hog, but wasn’t sure! Our Super H pulled an 6 foot with no problem! In fact it looked just like yours except it was an M & W! That’s solid iron you got there! Bit much for the A or even a C or Super C... H will be fine but I would invest in an overrunning clutch and some drop chains in the front, flip it on her side and take your grinder and sharpen it up! You’re good to go! To get rid of coons during sweet corn time we use to auger in several holes about a foot deep and put tuna fish in the bottom with a 110 coninear trap on top and boom! Usually right before it’s ready to pick!

This could be a long reply. First off, you don't seem to be a guy I need to tell this to, but I'm going to anyway. About a year or so ago a young guy was bush hogging and some how fell off and got killed so safety first. I don't know all the details, it was about 10 or 15 miles away. That mower is a beast. What a bush hog. Looks like you better stock up on 2150. That H has a new toy to pull. Done a great job and now you'll keep more organic material in your soil. Should really help your plowing. Thst's a good place for your SMV sign, it's just not far enough back. I've got mine mounted on a bracket out of the way of the pto. I'll see if I've got a picture I can send you.
