A note on Sticker Star: Kersti technically gives hints, but they are the most useless hints ever. She will only give you a hint for what item to use to progress if you have collected that item before. And naturally, you usually do not have that item. What a waste of good development time.

Tbh Mario striker's was honestly the most disappointing thing I have ever played, it kick started me on YT but after that the "new content updates" I then just quit the game all together. Never have I felt that way towards a game.

My brother and I both agree that Borderlands 3 is the most disappointing game we’ve ever played. Extremely cringy writing, killing off beloved characters in the worst way possible, the characters from Borderlands 2 taking a backseat to have Lilith hog the spotlight and some from B2 not even appearing in the game, insufferable villains that are hateable for all the wrong reasons, annoying new characters, old characters acting out of character, and the absolute worst part of all? The split screen was utterly unplayable, which forced us to play solo. The gameplay was pretty good, but that couldn’t salvage our complete disappointment in just about every other category. If I bought it physically I would have sold it.

Fates and sticker star are mine. Sticker star i didn't know much about but it didn't take long to realize the points you made, and Fates i wanted to like but it was the worst gaming experience I've ever experienced

OK, we got Star Fox from the SNES (or Star Wing) and Star Fox 64 (or Lylat Wars) but i'm sure we're loved to see more (especially a game co-developped by Rareware, called Star Fox Adventure) and...i found this 2 games start to getting old ^^; Animal Crossing New Horizon : I did played this game (especially during the pandemic period) but after one month, i don't come back, especially the fact it's the same routine. Talking to passagers, sell some craps we did found on nature, buy some stuff, etc...+ the interface is pretty annoying (like if you want to craft 3 axes, you have to craft them...1 by 1 ! (and it's always like this !!) + the fact Animal Crossing Switch got regular updates makes me not interessed :/ Tokyo Mirage Session...even me, i was like "What tha f**k ?" and...yah, i'm not into kawaii-idol-japan world ^^; there's some lovely waifus indeed but even the main male character (see the chara-design) makes me no want to go deeply into it ^^; I still do not fan of Paper Mario Stickers Star. there's so many potential to be the new best mario rpg ever but nope :/ crappy battle system, plain side characters (so many toads ^^;) and i really do played PM Thousand-years door and Super Paper Mario !

Back when Star Fox Zero dropped, I had no idea how to word how I felt about it, and dropped it out of discouragement with a particular section screwing me over. It wasn't until months later that I realized "oh it's cause the controls fucking suck ass and the game is bad" and I never played it again lol

Every time a new animal crossing comes out I get it because of peer pressure, get a basic house, then feel satisfied and drop it because its hitting my bare minimum for happiness as a modern adult. as far as Tokyo Mid Sessions go I think its not even the idol concept thats bad and if anything I can appreciate they tried to do something interesting with it. It's the execution that really lacked. The story writing is quite week and the game didnt know whether to focus on itsuki or tsubasa at points and shes just so boring it makes the focus of the game lack a real punch. I really liked the idea of Itsuki of having an idol game be led by not the main star but a supporting person, all entertainment is only possible because of the people backstage and encouraging the main stars and having them be a focus was great in theory. I even worked backstage at a theatre for a time and it made me appreciate the idea more. I even liked most of the main cast minus Barry and Tsubasa and how they focused on different actor types like Sentai/Hollywood/Food shows etc. Id love to see the concept attempted again but with better writing. Like instead of it being focused on awakening/mystery maybe they could do path of radiance and have the greil mercenaries be a freelance entertainment company. And when greil the president of it is assasinated, its by his dark yakuza past and his former subordinate or smthn. basically the same idea of mirroring an fe game but putting its story in a modern entertainment setting. they could even mesh story ideas or characters from both series into a new original plot as well. I usually filter out disappointing games in my head to focus on better games but Tales of Zestiria did alot of damage to the series and the writing in it makes Tokyo Mirage Sessions look like high art, even today it hasnt fully recovered and it required a runaway success in Arise for Bamco to reluctantly want to push the series again outside of just shitty mobile games.

my biggest gaming disappointment was AI The Somnium Files. i bought it a few months ago on steam, mistaking it for a completely different game (13 sentinels) but still being drawn to the abstract visuals, art by Yusuke Kozaki and the promise of a murder-mystery. there were some things i liked about it but the writing was genuinely some of the most insufferable and uncomfortable i've ever seen in a video game. it's basically your grievances with the writing in FE/SMT, but for EVERY CHARACTER. the female characters were constantly sexualized (if not by the pervert main character who didn't deserve to be voiced by Greg Chun, then they're sexualizing themselves), which included teenagers and 12-year-olds. i thought some of the story beats were interesting, but when people praise the writing of the story and characters and talk about how it's changed their lives, i genuinely don't think we played the same game i really wish the game leaned into its genuinely cool premise and surreal visuals instead of trying to make annoying sex jokes all the time

I was surprised when you coverd dead rising 4 and mentioned fire emblem but I'm happy you are also a fire emblem fan and also agree fates was pretty Meh.

For me it had to be Odyssey(I know hot take). I liked it at first but every time I went back to it I just got bored. At first collecting Power Moons felt like blast cause find them anywhere, but as the year, I started to realize that, I didn't really have to do much to progress. Heck I didn't even have to do main objective as I found enough. Even Bowser felt very underwhelming to me considering what he's done before.

Sonic Forces is one of the first times I felt personally disappointed by a game. Been a Sonic fan since I was 5, so I'm used to the series shitting the bed. But this was the one time something truly showed promise after the slog the series was in after Generations. Mania was that glimmer of hope that Sonic was finally back, only for Forces to drop the ball. The advertising was so hyped, seeing them mention devs of generations and colors, the teasing shot of multiple death egg robots, along with classic villains coming back made it look like we were about to get THE modern Sonic game of all time once more. But then it was literally Sonic Forces

Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite was a huge disappointment for me because it killed the series and Amit killed any chances of getting a MVC 4.

I was so disappointed by the SMT/Fire Emblem crossover game, it should have been like Fire Emblem Heroes except you fight the demons & Angels from SMT But instead we got reject Persona

If you want a fun animal crossing experience then give Dinkum a play. It's animal crossing with more to do and time is at your pace so no need to panic if you bought out the shop or pack tools to traverse over water as you can swim. There's hunting, stamina, dungeon crawling, and you can terraform the land as early as 3 to 4 in game days or about 30 minutes outside of the tutorial. Best part is that it's cheap and can support 4 players Co-Op so your friends will never be left alone. All players must sleep to progress to the next day. Land is procedurally generated and not fixed landscapes to choose from.

I understand being disappointed by Tokyo Mirage Sessions, but as a fan of both franchises that already knew what it was going to be going in I found Encore one of the best turn based rpgs on Switch.

tms is my biggest gaming disappointment. i remember wondering what the game was gonna be, either a dungeon crawler or a strategy rpg, or something else entirely. at the very least i was looking forward to seeing characters from smt 1 and 2 and early fe games with some cool new art! then the direct dropped and i was so upset. and on top of that the game itself was pretty mediocre. though my biggest issue with the game is more of what it represented-- whoever was in charge decided it was better to chase trends than do anything faithful with these ips, which is something you see with soul hackers 2.

Axiom Verge 2 was a massive disappointment because I'm not a Castlevania fan It's not the game's fault I guess also tonaly ay narratively it didn't hit the mark for me And then ukulele was super massively disappointed for so many reasons

Tears of the Kingdom was such a big disappointment for me, I just wanted a game with a good story, but weirdly enough, I didn't expect anything from the Guardians of the Galaxy's game, and I totally loved it.

But I like Paper Mario: Sticker Star and Fire Emblem Fates, but I don't want to stop watching the videos on your channel or Chuggaconroy's channel or The Green Scorpion's channel (or want either of you to hate me for it).

New Horizons I pretty much agree on - less content than New Leaf, long loading times, villagers with the personality of a brick, nothing to do in multiplayer, island is too customizable instead of committing to something... it's a good game, but really a creative person's dream who wants to sculpt their dream island, instead of the village life simulator that most people grew to love the franchise. Tears of the Kingdom I have already mentioned previously on this channel's videos and Discord - too reliant on BotW's world, too many soulless ubisoft collectibles, uninteresting story that breaks its own rules towards the end, too many boring rewards, basically by hour 50-60 you've seen everything the game has to offer, delving further in only leads to disappointment and feels like the time you've spent in it isn't appropriately rewarded. The world doesn't have much of the BotW excitement, because you have already seen most of it before. Too much handholding. Shin Megami Tensei V is another one for me - nearly nonexistent story, a little too ambitious for the Switch, so despite the impressive visuals it doesn't run very well, but most of all, the level scaling, forced grind and repetitive copypaste world design ruined it for me, I'm still stuck right before the fourth world map, I haven't touched the game since about month after it released, and I still haven't found motivation to finish it. Soul Hackers 2 I have briefly mentioned on Discord - boring cliche story, grindy upgrade system, braindead dungeon design that is literally copypasted corridors with zero interesting things in them, dumbed down SMT battle system with uninteresting and RNG reliant Sabbath mechanic, dumbed down demon negotiation system reduced to literal yes/no options, ultrabudget disappointing fusion animation, mid soundtrack, but most of all, the wasted story and atmosphere potential because I played it only a couple of weeks after the first Soul Hackers remaster on the 3DS, which felt surprisingly fresh for such an old 1997 game. And for the last I saved FFXIV - Very mid RPG and a horrible MMO. Reddit baited me for this one really hard, combat is slow and uninteresting, 90% of the narrative is uninteresting filler and stupid "return to the waking sands" garbage, most of the cutscenes feel wooden, stiff and super budget constrained despite being one of the most consistent Square Enix cashcows, the visuals look weirdly flat and "gray", the constant loading screens feel like something ancient that WoW mostly resolved in 2004, and Square Enix also scammed me by refusing to refund an expansion key I haven't used because I accidentally purchased the wrong product. I wasted just about 300 hours on this game hoping it would finally click and the endgame would become interesting, but it never did.

Tbh I enjoy more all of 3 FE fates games than FE Engage, after how incredible 3 Houses was they releases engage and…. Well pure disappointment.

I'm so glad to see someone share my opinion on New Horizons. I was so excited for the game because I absolutely loved playing New leaf and I was really into it for the first few hours but after some time (specifically the moment you get KK Slider to do a concert for you) it felt like there was nothing to do, no goal to follow anymore because you basically just beat the main "story". I tried so desperately to keep playing, to find something to keep me engaged but I just couldn't bring myself to play it any more. It feels so empty and soulless, way more focused on pretty aesthetic and design than the charming daily village life that I felt was the core of the Animal Crossing series. And I fear that seeing how well New Horizons sold and how well it was received, the series will just keep moving further away from it's origins if we get more games.

Top 10 Games That Have Disappointed Me 1. Final Fantasy VIII - On paper this should be right up my street, I love FF X and FF VI, hopeless romantic, FF VIII should easily be one if my favourites, 1st disc is amazing, disc 2 is really weird, then the orphanage scene kills the game for me. Wanted to love this game so bad. 2. Eternal Sonata - So much going for it, great battle system, great music, great artstyle, great concept….. poooooor execution, so poor. Infamous Cleves scene and the post credits ruins the experience, really wanted to love this game as well. 3. Xenoblade Chronicles - I bought into the hype, amazing intro, amazing story in game and its release to the west. Iconic imagery now, BUT the combat system wasn’t for me, and the game is extremely unfriendly completion wise. Near impossible to 100% on the wii. 4. Tales of Graces f - Combat 10/10 but the story blue balls you with Cheria and Asbel with zero pay off after so much content, and leveling up is a b!tch 5. The Outbound Ghosts - Was so excited for a new Paper Mario style game but man, terrible performance on release and a MESS of a situation with the creators and the publishers and when ordering a physical it was a nightmare. 6. Chrono Cross - Looks beautiful, plays great, sounds great… Yet the story sucks and there are way too many pointless characters in the game 7. Final Fantasy VII- I understand why this is universally loved but the game story wise was already completely ruined for me, I knew everything, but with so much hype, gave it a go…. didn’t move me at all, and thought the honey bee inn scene was boring, The original PS1 version graphically doesn’t hold up at all, I feel like you had to be there on release day one to love it. 8. Tales of Symphonia- Exactly the same as FF VII i feel like you had to of been there on release because it does not hold up at all, Tales of the Abyss is 10x better than this one. 9. Tales of Xillia- Loved the artstyle, looked great, played it, super bland game all around. 10. Final Fantasy IX- I understand why this is loved but, this game is really unfriendly completion wise and I feel like its just an average plot, the final boss, literally is outta bo where and so random.
