I actually bought the x14 r1 when the r2 announcement came out because it wasn't Lunar Light. I rushed to buy the R1 when I heard that.

Doesn't matter, i think x14 r2 it's even have a worse type of processor than last year and obviously not the most favorite alienware X series laptop from the first place....somehow till now i can't find any video about this model or any ryzen options, not really sure whats happening here

That lunar silver is tbh not as pretty. Looks like a cheap inspiron. But I’ll get the r2 anyways since it is much better in terms of battery life, thermal, and screen.

Love the new features of the 2023 X-series. As soon as I can get the Ryzen 7940HS processor (coming soon) and a 500+ nit (brighter) screen its an instant purchase for me.

The x14 R2 is available now! The power button is just that, no fingerprint scanner on that one. But you can use Windows Hello with the built in camera.

What CherryMx mechanical switches does the X16 come with if you choose that keyboard option, Tactical or Linear?

Am sorry but I still prefer the x14 r1, should of kept that design and improved the screen upgrade the gpu. The X-R2 range looks like the M version but white/silver 🤔 and where is the OLED for the x14?? Was hoping they implemented it this time round 😢

@@tavydyou’re not even gaming at the res though. 4060 max q cannot handle qhd gaming at 30fps or more. So whats the point other than watch videos in the res?

4 fans, 8 heat pipes, liquid metal but my x16 still hits 100c on cpu while playing mw2.

I have the X16 R1 with 4090 gpu. I went inside of my battery settings and set my cpu at 99% instead of 100%. This makes sure that my cpu does not go into boost and it keeps the temps a nice bit lower

You can change the settings to have it stay on for longer in your BIOS settings

The fact that they didn't mention the brightness or the display technology is making me real nervous that it is going to be the same 300 nits IPS panel. x16 r2 is sitting in my cart, and would be an insta purchase if they have a mini LED panel option.

Please actually listen to your customers alienware. There is so much potential but always a let down. Keep the lunar white get rid of the qhd screen on the x14 and make it a fhd plus (500nits) bump the gpu up 10 Watts for gamers and improve speaker quality. People will pay more money if you actually give us we want instead of forcing us to settle for what Dell thinks is best. Now I have to go with g14 even though I want to support alienware.

The new silver color is disgusting. I’d buy the R1 over this any day. Too bad the R2 is a significant upgrade over the R1, I was dead set on grabbing the R2 until I saw its design.

Yeah 14 inch needs an OLED screen and touch. Trying to find a replacement for my Alienware 13 R3 with oled 1440p touch , replaceable ram, ssd, wifi card.

Perhaps because this can reduces cpu Power consumption and prioritizes the GPU, allowing the two graphics cards 4080/90 to perform at their maximum? My guess.

I think I made a mistake. I just bought an X16 it will be delivered this week, but now I’m thinking an M18 would have been better for me. I don’t care about portability so I don’t care that the x16 is thin. I checked the website i could have gotten a M18 with a RTX 4080 for just ~$200 more then the x16 RTX 4070. I would have gotten a bigger screen and better graphics, but lose on the quality of the screen and size. Now i’m thinking if I start playing with the x16 and then return it for the m18, will I hate the screen quality even more errr. I’m not sure what am I going to do.

No the x16 only goes up to 32GB Ram. That said it is very fast ram.

The concept of these videos are great. What is HORRIBLY misleading is the display of gaming on the X16 without being plugged in. The laptop dies in 2 hours or less.

I just wish the X14 was a bit more thick. I mean it's not because it's thin that it's portable. It can be thin and have a large footprint (which is the case for the X14) and not be that portable. Also making it a bit thicker would allow you to put higher TGP GPUs. Like the G14 can go up to a RTX 4090 120 Watt. And also it would allow you to put the lighting in the back. Without it the X14 looks a bit blend.

I truly dont understand, how can you NOT includ a mini led screen when the competitors have it with better hardware/performance AND lower prices? If these had it too, then the higher price could been argued for the aestethics (which Iove) and alienware gimmicks and unique experience. Same goes for the RAM, still not upgradable...why? Why why why????

Bought an Alienware 2022 m15 r7. Intel Core I7 12700H, mobile nVidia RTX 3080 ti (16 GB V-Ram), upgraded RAM TO 64 GB Crucial DDR5 (4800 speed), came with Samsung 1TB NVMe m.2, SSD. Added another 1TB Samsung EVO 970 NVMe m.2 SSD (Non-RAID). The unit was nearing the end of the 1 year Alienware warranty, so I uninstalled the Alienware pesky "Support Assist" software and set the thermal limits for Power to Balanced in Windows 11. Purchase a $20 aluminum + padded edges elevation adjustment Laptop stand from Amazon. No overheating whatsoever. Installed free HWinFo64 temperature monitor software. CPU temps run 95 F to 130 F. GPU temps 110-140 F max. RAM temps 125-140 F max. I play World of Tanks only with a CAT 8 Ethernet cable and Asus RT AX-8600U Wi-FI 6E Gaming Router hooked up to an Arris Surf Board 6183 Docis 3.0 Cable Modem. Running with Mediacom 600 MB cable service, getting about 680 + MB download and 55 MB upload speeds. Playing Hi-Def Maximum Resolution, Playing World of Tanks (US Central Server); about 300 frames/sec and 30ms latency. Killing enemy tanks is easy unless they get me first (happens). Info that could be useful for tank gamer's. Alienware m15 r7 above configuration cost about $2780. no interest - one year financing on Dell-Pay plan. Paid off 2 months early. Also added $49.00 Microsoft X-Box PC USB joystick controller with $7.50 "Joy-to-Key" online download WSAD keyboard control emulation software. Works very slick in controlling tank direction and speed. Mouse and Keyboard for Tank firing and turret direction and in game repair kit select, zoom view-mouse wheel. Great setup. Also purchased Alienware Wireless Gaming Mouse and Wireless Headphones. $200 total for both.

I had the 17" alineware r4 1070 8gb i7-7700hq it was a beast now I have the 13 r3 1060 6gb i7-7700hq and it is still a beast Alienware make the best gaming computers

Why would anyone want a 4K panel on a 14 and 16" screens is beyond me haha... I have owned 5 Alienwares since 2009 including 13, 15, and 17 inch models. Even with the 17" model I can't tell the difference between 1080p and 1440p due to pixel density. In a 14-16", that's EVEN MORE the case since the screen is even smaller. It makes no sense to have a 4K panel on such small displays while at the same time increasing heat and decreasing battery life due to needing a higher resolution output. I fully support Alienware's decision NOT to put a 4K panel for these reasons. Just makes no technical sense.

@@jaredheath3642 Same, I would much prefer OLED and that is why I still have my Alienware 13 R3 from 2016 with OLED 1440p Multitouch display. They don't make it like they used to anymore, at least not right now... My latest one is the Area-51M 17" 1080p 144 IPS.

I have two Alienware laptop and the one I use currently have a 3080 and thr next gaming laptop I get will have a 4090 with 4k resolution and apparently it won't be Alienware due to them not having that 4k option.
