They're both good in their own way. L4D1 is more serious and L4D2 is more funny.

I believe zoeys aim and gun proficiency was lowballed. In the opening scene of the first L4D she was able to headshot a zombie that was about to attack bill. She did this from a rooftop with akimbo pistols in a high intensity situation. I think that feat alone should atleast make her low 4

fun fact about Coach: When Nick reach Whittaker's gun shop in Dead Center, he can trigger a voice line specifying he's most likely a convict and disallowed to own a firearm, then Coach will respond with "I never shot one before" voice line, indicating that prior to the apocalypse, Coach is most likely never a firearm enthusiast in the first place, hence the liking of straight forward force weapons such as the chainsaw and shotguns

Bill naturally becoming Zoey's father figure after she literally had to kill her father warms my heart. Zoey got a father while Bill got a daughter he didn't now he wanted. They needed each other, now more than ever because of the apocalypse.

Having Zoey at a 3/5 strength/ stamina with Louis at a 2 is crazy to me😂.

L4D 1 - Has no one man cheeseburger apocalypse L4D2 - Has a one man cheeseburger apocalypse So it really comes down to how much you like cheeseburgers. I rest my case.

22:49 - The survivors don't really have to eat, since all the campaigns take place over the course of just a few days. No Mercy, Crash Course, and Death Toll for example all take place on the same night. They'd probably be hungry, but it wouldn't be bad enough to physically affect them. In some saferooms though, you can find discarded food items, and even open bags of dog food, which is what the survivors were eating/drinking while they rested up.

Just wanted to also point out that Louis will mention counter-strike as well at one point as a video game in their universe whenever he picks up an SMG. "Oh, MAN! This is just like Counter-Strike!"

as many other folks are saying, it really depends on what you’re looking for in the survivors. L4D2 cast seems a lot more leaning into gallows humor, cracking jokes and laughing even when the worst happens, even if they feel broken hearted; a lot more solemn and just.. kinda numb to it. Not that they don’t feel anything, not at all, but when another of their own dies, they either make jokes or talk about how it’s time to leave and move on with gentle parting words. It’s really sweet, i think. They also just generally have a lot more laughs than the other group and try to see the positives in the bad situation they’re in with the apocalypse, being a lot more loud and outwardly happy, even IF it’s just a facade and they feel pained on the inside, they’re a lot more cheery generally is my point. Also L4D2 even as a game has a much different tone, especially with the brighter maps, melee weapons to bash infected, etc; it’s a lot more of a ‘fun’ situation. i say fun that way because it’s still not GOOD, but they put more positive energy into talking with eachother and even in getting rescued like with the midnight riders concert finale L4D1, on the other hand, definitely leans more into horror and a sad tone, and the characters reflect that; really, the only super positive shit is coming from louis, and that’s the general dynamic; they wear their hurt a lot more on their sleeves, and everything is scary, quiet, empty.. it’s a lot more dramatic and survivors will scream, cry, freak the hell out VERY loudly or cry softly when one of their own dies along the way, you can hear the pain in their voices and that is *powerful* The mood is glum and the finales are often spent locked up in close quarters waiting for the infected to come to them in a much more fearful sort of mood, while l4d2 feels more like ‘come and get us, bitches’ i don’t really know how to explain it i just feel that sort of mood from the different finales it just feels a lot more dreary and dramatic you know what.. that is kind of nice sometimes too! it’s nice to feel sad sometimes and be able to cry and feel pain so i think both games as well as both groups are very good 👍

Coach, Nick and Ellis work well both as individual characters and together, their dialogue feels more natural compared to the L4D1 team.

I feel like coach was lowballed in the stamina/strength stat, since it also contains durability, his *healthy* size would definitely give him the chance to smacked around and that extra body weight gives him one hell a swing, i feel that instead you should have lowered his preparedness stat to compensate

I'd have put Ellis' Preparedness higher, because one of his voice lines during the elevator ride in Dead Center, is he built an armored truck that is zombie proof to drive himself out of Savannah.

8:29 to be honest i think being a veteran would make him tolerating francis More believable, francis is even on first appearance a tough guy even if hes rude or dumb, alot of normal people would just leave him to die to zombies, then proceed to die themselves without somebody like him whos straightforward with his attacks, but somebody like bill would probably see him as a valuable asset or somebody to teach, he probably had to deal with tons of people like francis in the war he fought anyway he probably just tunes it out or knows they dont mean much by it

Nick likes money. Ellis likes his friend Keith. Rochelle likes killing everything that isn’t a survivor. Coach likes cheeseburgers. Louis likes pills. Bill likes cigarettes. Zoey likes… I don’t know. Francis likes… nothing. He hates everything.

Wasn’t Ellis the one who designed the armored truck in one of the DLC levels? I’m pretty sure there was dialogue about how he had almost finished this armored truck but didn’t have enough time to finish it. I feel like that should have bumped his survival preparedness to at least a 4/5

Although I have a bias since Francis is my favorite character, I believe he and Nick, because of their flaws and similarities you mentioned, would be great friends. That’s if the remaining three survivors of L4D1 were to meet up with and join the L4D2 survivors again as a team. A criminal Bromance of sorts between Nick and Francis has been a head canon of mine for a long time since I saw that one episode 5 of Tasty Coolz by Seibmoz.

Bill automatically wins, he was so badass the entity wanted him in dead by daylight…. This man shook off anesthesia, and had to be killed by 3 tanks…. By choice… he is damn near chuck Norris Anyone on his team are automatic winners

Nick's cooperativeness being a 1 does make sense, but I will say, I feel like if you took how the story of L4D2 progressed more into account, Nick started as a 1 in Dead Center and jumped to around a 3 in Dark Carnival. He's cold and callous to people he meets for the first time, but he's very quick to warm up to someone once he knows he can trust them or they do something to prove their worth to him.

I have a love hate relationship with how Ro calls Ellis a "hee haw", it's just so funny and fits yet I know it's rude but still-- either way, I love them all, not equally but still... My takeaway: L4D1 has a more depth backstory, leans more to horror and a bit of drama, and has an "ending" while L4D2 is more about the action, comedy and just about having a good time in a zombie apocalypse. Pick your poison but you can definitely choose both :> Edit: My personal faves from each group are Louis and Ellis... who are both bundles of joy and optimism. I guess that says a lot about me lol :D

I think Ellis, should’ve at least had a four and a five for apocalypse read ability because you have to also take in mind that Ellis built a monster truck as soon as the apocalypse started and it was all equipped with zombie killing gear, but it all fell apart so I don’t know

In the army you are trained to work with others. So it makes sense that Bill decided to stay with his gang because having someone covering your back is a major advantage.

33:25 I like to think they're half mutant, after all, they're all infected (except for Ellis, "apparently"), so even when they don't transform like the Special infected, they probable have enhanced strenght, durability, and other stuff, not something like Captain America but more like a bodybuilder, an athlete and a very strong man (while being "average" people), after all they're able of breaking heads, running for long periods of time, almost reaching the 50th floor of a building moderately tired and running among other stuffs, like taking a lot of damage and keep fighting back.

Finally a L4D video, one day I hope more L4D content comes out like Wow Such Coaching or general gameplay.

Really neat video idea! Have you thought of doing a similar type of scoring video on how dangerous each of the infected types are?

The L4D1 group felt more appropriate in a horror setting whereas the L4D2 works best in a slasher/zombie? setting. Both work in their own settings very well, but the L4D2's dialogue has more depth and feels more natural, whereas L4D1's dialogue feels more restricted to basic observations outside of The Sacrifice. I think I have a leaning towards L4D2's since I played it before L4D1 so I got to know them better.

I really liked this video. I think you were unbiased and fair. With your in-depth descriptions of each character, I was able to predict a fair number of their attributes right on the money.

I feel like the L4D1 crew always happens to get themselves in the worst kind of situations more then the L4D2 survivors, the L4D1 survivors are usually in the wrong place at the wrong time. I mean, the SFM 'Welcome to the New Age' portrays it exellently of how the L4D1 survivors find no guns and run out of ammo, while the L4D2 survivors finds a Military vehicle Stocked with weapons. The L4D1 crew always gets rescued but unknowingly infect their saviors. for the L4D2 Crew, except of the Dark Carnival chopper, the gang pretty much finds good people to work with like Virgil (the talking Boat) and Whitaker. The Sacrifice Bridge is just the Worst of the Worst that the L4D1 gang could encounter and its something Bill Kept telling himself and his friends that Generators are a recipe for Disaster and it pretty much caused his Death. While the L4D1 gang is more experienced because they always travelled at Night, so its easier to sneak around and all. The L4D2 Gang are the Luckiest of them all. Most of them never shot a Gun and they still make Jokes while at it. While the L4D1 gang had some expriences with guns in their Pre-outbreak: Bill being a Veteran, Zoey and Louis Occassionally going to a shooting range and Francis is likely to have experience because he is part of the L4D's version of the Hells Angels.

I think with nick actually being who he is helps. He works with the second group but NO ONE ELSE. That means he’ll probably always be on the ready meeting new survivors

I'd up Rochelle's weapon proficiency up a bit because she did learn how to aim with cameras. Aiming a camera on a helicopter takes serious skills i'd imagine

lets be real, no matter which one is better, we all wish the 8 formed together, they would've been the ULTIMATE "infected" Killing Team.

I think you should separate strength and stamina or have strength/durability vs. mobility/stamina as categories. Bill proves how strength and stamina are not necessarily the same thing, and the ability to outrun or avoid strikes can be just important than strength for carrying weapons and melee, and durability. Plus, I don't need to point out that due to being slow and less maneuverable can make Bill less than perfect in survival when getting to safety quickly is important.

I mean to be fair; The first groups story takes place a week before the second, but the second group would have needed to survive the same amount of time to be able to be into the second week.

I feel the way the first group meet up isn't something crazy, it's more like they found a safe house with others in it. With there arrival everyone else turned, then the remaining 4 fought there way out and that's how it started.

All I've learned from this video is that Ellis is the ultimate lifeform.

Honestly would've brought Rochelle's gun proficiency down to a 1 and Ellis's Cooperativeness to a 5. I feel like this makes more sense and doesn't change the end score. Rochelle literally says she hasn't shot a gun before. For Ellis's cooperativeness he's always so excited to hang out with people and seems to care even for Nick who hates him so he would probably risk his life for people who become friends with him especially in the apocalypse. If I had to choose a group I'd go for Group 1 just because I feel like Rochelle would be detrimental, coach will slow down the group, and Nick genuinely won't care about me. If it were purely survival I would take Bill for obvious reasons, Francis as the beater and I feel like opposed to Nick would actually end up caring about the group in the end, Louis for his positivity and weapon proficiency, and Ellis for being a great all-rounder. This ends up giving me a score of 61. Or if we take into account my first paragraph 62. Also Rochelle, Nick, and Francis all have 13 points but I don't really think the really equal out all that much, nor are better than Louis, Zoey, and Coach at 12 necessarily. I think Louis is a better take than Rochelle who only gets brought up by her preparedness. Best team from this would be Bill (19), Ellis (17), then a 3 way between Francis, Nick, and Rochelle (13) for a total of 62. I miss by one point because I took Louis over Nick and Rochelle. With my Edit the best team Would be Bill (19), Ellis (18), Francis (13), and Nick (13) for a total of 63. Again what I would've picked but swapped out nick for Louis for one less point.

L4D1 hands down, no question, no hesitation, easiest answer of my life.

I had an idea for the characters of Left 4 Dead 3 if they ever make it. I was thinking it could take place in California and has the survivors trying to get to the Mexican border. The characters could be an elderly chinese lady who would be the leader of the group, an LA gangster, a Hispanic celebrity baseball player, and a snobby pop Star. What do you guys think? Yes or no?

Left 4 Dead 1 survivors in my opinion is my favorite because first, they care for each other and second, they look after each other and that's what I love about the survivors.

Also, I would make a Left 4 Dead 5, with 4 characters from Dallas Texas, who would be - David: A young teenage boy, he is 17 years old, black, he is like 6 feet tall, he has a white shirt with a red line across it, like from his upper right chest down to his left hip, and above that line would be the King, from like cards with red dimonds around him, and below that same red line would be the Queen, from cards with black spades around her, and he has a black jacket, and blue jeans, and red, white, and black shoes, and he has a pointy hair style, like what looks like dreadlocks, but short and they only stick up in every direction, he is good at focusing and dealing with people, and he listens and is willing to listen, he can be hard-headed at times, but he gets serious at times when it calls for it, and he is there for his team Kaliea: A young teenage girl, she is 16 years old, black, she is 5 foot 7, she has a purple short sleeve shirt with golden glittery things around her chest area, and she as a light black short sleeve cover, like a jacket, but it has no zipper, and it looks like it is netted, with like spacing and stuff like that, and she wears skinny dark blue jeans, and high heel boots, and she has short brown hair down to her shoulders, and she has eye liner, and other sorts of makeup, and lipstick, and she is well mannered, and she tries to keep it together although she is scared, but she functions better with her team, and she is a team player, and she sticks with and is there for her team. (David and Kaliea are a couple, and they are good people, like David worked at movie theater, and he had part time jobs before that, and he is alright in school, and he was a former boyscout and camper, so he can opperate in some things, like the woods and things like that, and Kaliea is very good in school, she gets mainly straight A's most of the time, and was pursuing a legal career, and she used to babysit people and her younger brothers and sister, so she is good with dealing with people, and under stress) Abriann: He is a young teenage boy, he is 17 years old, black, he is 6 foot 1, and he wears a red short sleeve shirt with white lines up and down and a small blue shield on the upper right chestal area, but he also has that short sleeve shirt over a long sleeve white shirt, and he wears jeans, and white shoes with red trims, and he is knowledgeable and understanding, and he comes up with some ideas to help the team, and he is there for his team. Dainnia: She is a teenage girl, she is 17 years old, black, she is 5 foot 7, she always tries to look on the bright side of things, and she tries to keep the team together, and she keeps with her team, and she is there for her team, and she can becomes strong willed, confident, and serious when push comes to shove, she wears a green lepord pattern short sleeve shirt, with tight light purple pants, and short high heel boots with like fur on the ankle part, and she has eye liner and other makeup, and purple lipstick, and she has long black hair, and she has golden water droplet earrings. (Abriann and Dainnia are a couple and they are good people, Abriann is a good student, he gets mostly B's, he does not have any job, but he is knowledgeable about things like cars, because he always liked cars, and he used to help at his uncle's mechanic shop, and he also used to help his dad with the car, so he is knowledgeable about manual labor, and he used to take care of his little brother so he can deal with people and comfort them to an extent, and Diannia is a good student, with A's and B's and she is knowledgeable on many things like science and math, and she has knowledge about some other languages, history, locations, laws, and other useful things) The go through the states, from Texas up, going through the middle of the United States, and then around to like New York, and other states like that, and they are a young, but strong and knowledgeable team who can overcome anything together. Left 4 Dead 3 would be from 2012 to 2011 Left 4 Dead 4 would be 2015 to 2016 Left 4 Dead 5 would be in modern day

Eh stamina and strength should be their own separate category people can have endurance to run a lot and not get excusted so quickly but might not be able to hit hard kinda like the flight over fight

Either way they went through hell and took so many undead bastards with them. Thousands of infected cleared of the map. I would say humanity should thank them until the Sacrifice comic confirmed they were spreading it. And the final Parish level also confirming they are carriers too in game.

There's the experienced with guns survivors (Bill and Nick), the "I know a thing or two about guns" survivor (Francis and Coach), the optimistic survivor (Louis and Ellis), and then there are the girls (Zoey and Rochelle).

Bill is a literal vietnam war vet, dude has dealt with spider holes and tiger traps. Francis.... is a biker, i know that. I dont know how affiliated his is, but hes got the tats and the vest and the chrome dome. Louis and Zoey are the untrained ones i THINK. Natural survivors. Coach.... i dont know what he did. Maybe he was a gym teacher? Anyway, the dude has weight on his side but idk how much combat experience. Nick is a drifter, im sure hes been in a scrap or two. Idk how "criminal" he is either. Ellis and Rochelle would be the lucky ones in this group i think but for different reasons. Rochelle has no combat experience but is smart like a whip and Ellis is a redneck through and through so he loves his guns but i dont think smarts are on his side. Ultimately, Bill gives group one the edge. Imo.

I think 1/5 for Nick's cooperativeness is too low. Even if he doesn't show it or doesn't like it, he seemed to realize pretty quickly he's better off with a team in that situation. Look at the intro for Left 4 Dead 2, he immediately turns around and shoots when a Jockey latches on to Ellis. When a smoker catches Ellis, Nick's the first one to grab onto him. When Coach gets knocked down by an air strike, Nick rushes in to help him back up. He even encourages Coach to keep going up the stairs in his own way. All that taken into consideration, he should have at least 2 for cooperation. Maybe even 3
