I think I spent $250 or something, the thing is big loud , I have to play it thru an old POD - and have as yet to really see what the amp can do on its own . Built like a freakin tank. imo fuzz is usually used to describe heavier distortion. so overdrive < distortion < fuzz

@@Obama-bi4fm fuzz and distortion are both distortion but they work different. Generally, fuzz pedals create more harmonic content. This makes: major 3rd chords sound out of tune, octave effects above 12th fret, and thick power chords. A distortion can be heavier and have more gain but reacts differently to the way you play. For ex. Palm mutes and complicated chords will sound better. The Proco Rat can sort of do both sounds so it’s a cool pedal, if you want to see how fuzz/distortion react different. With the filter open it lets harmonics through and sound fuzzy. With the filter set higher it sounds more like classic distortion.

These are more like overdrive or heavy crunch tones, but I think they all sound really good. It's definitely not distortion though, even if you're using a distortion pedal. You can use the boss distortion pedal as a sort of boost/overdrive, or you can go full distortion, especially if you stack it with other pedals or go into an already overdriven amp. Anyways, they all sounded good. It's cool to see you play a guitar with Humbuckers.

Marshal and blackstar seem to have the nicest and most widely applicable tone, I'm not the biggest fan of the others, but I'm sure someone can find a way to make it sound amazing in a niche

I still like my good ol' 1974 Peavey Artist loaded with Mesa Boogie tube's, and a beefy Randall speaker.... I'm satisfied with my sound... it took years.... finally nailed the perfect sound. Perfect dirt crunch, when I put the Master Volume on 1½, and the regular Volume on 10.... 🎸👈😉👍
