It is interesting how a group of only human judges gave the highest overall points to the human feasts.

Well I mean humans were trying the dishes of course they would like their own dishes best for this to be fair you'd need 1 person of each race for it to be fair.

It's always kind of cute when people discover how much butter goes into cookies. You gotta remember, that butter's being distributed to as many cookies as you make so unless you eat the whole batch you're not literally eating all 12 of those tablespoons.

The biggest thing that affected the rankings was that you used only humans as taste testers

Duke should make videos where he makes a random dish from the cookbook and lets us guess what race its from!

I love how involved Jakin is with all the edits he's so adorable he needs little costumes or something so you can tell he has a lot of fun making these.

I cant believe this series is already at desert it was really creative like no one has done anything like this before

Whenever using an electric mixer, you should add the liquid ingredients first so you don't get left with powder at the very bottom. Not a problem with every mixer, but still a good thing to know.

This channel is one I tend to watch more than my mum, and she tends to prefer cooking shows. So we got to enjoy this together. You guys made us smile and laugh throughout all the episodes. I saw duke post about wanting to hear more of what content everyone wanted to see, would anyone else just genuinely love to hear some of his whackiest d&d stories? I loove hearing some of the weird things that can happen during a d&d session that make people just go "what the what?"

My predictions... The Pie is Halfling because of the combinations of apples and blackberries, it is very tea time like and Halflings do love their tea times. The meringue fruit one is Elven because it seems super fancy, and time-consuming. I have made meringue before and it is very light tasting. Elves like things that are light. The mash oats stuff (oatmeal?) is Dwarven because Dwarves like simple hearty meals. They tend to have meals that stick to your stomach. I think the cookies are human. Because... Ginger Bread MAN.

I make ninja shaped gingerbread men(ninjabread men) from scratch most years for Christmas. You did pretty well they are a fairly complex cookie.

I just want you to know that I watched all 4 of these back to back and loved every minute of it. As someone who was a cook and is an avid DnD fan with the same cookbook I absolutely loved this and watching your taste testers have a blast eating food you made (aside from a couple of them... in the *cough cough* bread video) I can only imagine the joy you got from watching them enjoy themselves. I know that the Main Course one was phenomenal and if I got compliments like that for my cooking I would just about cry,

Really enjoyed this series. Sad to see it end. But now that we eaten our fill. Onward to bigger and better things! Just one more piece of pie before we go.

My thoughts aside, this was a fun series to watch you do. Maybe you can take on other cookbooks themed after RPG games. Heck World of Warcraft has two cookbooks. Fallout and The Elder Scrolls have one too.

Just binged this series and I gotta say, fantastic! To add some more stats, I compiled which meals were guessed most correctly, as as well as which race's cuisine waswas guessed most correctly, and here they are. Meals: Bread was guessed 4/16 (25%), Apps were guessed 5/16 (31.25%), Main courses were guessed 9/16 (56.25%) and Desserts were guessed 14/16 (87.5%) of the time. Races: Dwarves were guessed 6/16 (37.5%), Humans were guessed 7/16 (43.75%), Halflings were guessed 8/16 (50%) and Elves were guessed 11/16 (68.75%) of the time.

The pure joy and pride you felt about your pie was heartwarming. It looked amazing and you did an excellent job!

I personnally am not that surprised that gingerbread men cookies needed that much ingredients, for they are, in fact, made out of gingerbread. And before anyone asks, *no* gingerbread is not just some bread with sugar and ginger. The English name is sure confusing, whereas a litteral translation from the French name would be more accurate: "spices bread". And *please* for those who wouldn't know, understand that spices aren't only spicy things, but a whole category of substances used for flavoring. Go to Wikipedia for more info. I shall say, as a French person, and moreover a French person living in a family which does cook, pretty often in fact, and not only buy industrial stuff, all of what I see in those videos is quite common for me, cooking is indeed something that takes time and dedication. Yet I do understand that, through cultural evolutions and geographic distances, people get not to cook really often, maybe even nearly never. Despite the fact that I am not really in favor of such culture of never taking the time, to cook, to do stuff, and even to eat (where do you think that *fast-foods* came from?), I still do understand. So, I do have to say, you're doing great cooking all those dishes, and very certainly better than most people would. Glad you can have fun and enjoy cooking that much.

Hey man you are great. So I am a retired Marine and chef with 30 years in the food and Beverage industry, so I intentionally waited for you to finish all 4 videos to watch them all together. I truly enjoyed watching you be a Trooper and power through all the issues that you can have in the kitchen doing new things. You are truly hilarious and passionate about what you do. I am so glad I found your channel this year as I needed to be able to laugh with all I have going on in my life right now.

Lived this video series Duke - yourself and Jakob did a great job. Keep it up, keep being you - it really shows in the end result. Again, fantastic work, and also, great cooking. I actually bought the cookbook because of these videos AND IT ARRIVED TODAY! The variety in dishes is awesome. The artwork in it is awesome. I can't wait to make and taste them! The only fault with the book imho, is that there aren't enough pics of the dishes.

Even after almost three years this is still one of my absolute comfort series. Just so much wholesome chaos, good food and DND combined

I am so happy for Duke to have been able to keep this project fun for him until the end. Sometimes excitement can work against fun and can only get you so far. I think the structure of a meal helped to cut down into enjoyable (and manageable) parts while keeping the big picture of gastronomy and diversity. Amazing job!

Also... this series is not catered to all races, get some elves, halflings and dwarfs next time!

Pie tips: let the crust warm up, it gets more stretchy and less likely to tear; cut a hole in the middle (or decorative shapes - my cat walked across the plastic wrap over the pie crust while I was filling the shell the first time I made a pie, so I used her footprints) so that the liquid doesn't come out where top and bottom crusts join and burn

Hey, I guessed right too. Andrew is seething. Was very inclined to put the oven food with the dwarves again though, but it also really seemed like a halfling thing, plus fruit not being dwarven's a really good point. Also the gingerbread could've easily been halfling, but that'd leave the pie for humans and the other way around made a little more sense. Tough round for me, tbh.

Considering this was the first time making these recipes, Duke did a great job (except for the Elven Meal's End which needed to have the cream be more of a whipped cream since the dish is similar to the British Eton Mess). Would love to see more of this series!

I made buttercream once and it called for SIX CUPS OF POWDERED SUGAR. Even though I didn't add the full six, it was literally concrete once it cooled off. The cake was half as tall and the icing was an inch thick.

I actually bought the book and tried some recipes. I had to modify it due to some allergies in my family, but I made the skillet fried potatoes with the dwarves sausage (kielbasa). It was a great dinner. I am planning at some point soon to make the ribs. This series is great and inspired me to it, and I am glad I did it. Edit: I am actually going to make the ribs tomorrow, so I might edit this again to say how they went.

Thank you for this series! It was so much fun to watch since it combines two topics I frequently enjoy on KZfaq (DnD and food videos). I would be so excited about a second season if you ever had the motivation to do one. I have a couple suggestions about the judging though. It was great that you pushed the race question at the end, but I really think the overall points should be awarded after tasting all the dishes as well. Because it should depend on the quality of the other foods in the category as well. Also, if there would be a separate point awarded for looks/execution, the would probably make it more nuanced. Also, because the different races have very distinct palettes, it was very easy to figure out which race belongs to which dish. And it shouldn't be your players judging, really, because their taste seems to be very one-note, and it's hard to decide if the dishes that came out on top were really the best or they just liked them because those foods were something that they eat regularly outside of the competition too. Because of the different styles of the dishes (human: basic US foods with some Mediterranean twist occasionally, elves: paleo/vegan and fancy dishes, dwarf: very hearty dishes with minimal flavor, halfling: comfort food with some interesting seasoning), maybe you could find judges with similar taste IRL to represent the different races? Also, a judge with a background in cooking/ baking (either a chef or a pastry chef, maybe both, depending on the theme of the season) would be also interesting, so that we could see a more objective judging of how well you executed the different dishes.

This whole series actually convinced me to buy the book myself ( about two weeks ago) and I just made the tide me overs from the dwarves and they were delicious. I actually have a apple and blackberry pie in the oven right now. Thanks for showing me this awesome cookbook and just being an incredible content creator!

I'm surprised if no one else has mentioned that all of the videos in this Feast playlist have *major* Jaskier from the "Witcher" energy....because they absolutely do, and it delights me. :D Watching Duke in pure, quintessential, impossibly adorable Kitchen Chaos Gremlin Mode(TM) reminds me so very much of Joey Batey's video where he tries - and fails epically - to bake a cake (resulting in him crying on the floor, surrounded by the ruins of cake failure and consoling himself with a drink, LOL), and all of the glorious chaos which results therein. :)

As a person that's been cooking for over 20 years I can say you've done pretty well with so many firsts, good job man.

So, I've made the Meals' End before, and it's actually a dessert inspired by a dish called Eton Mess. If made properly, it's essentially thick whipped cream, mixed berries and crunchy meringues, all combined into a wonderful, light, refreshing dessert. So yeah, Duke did mess up, but I don't blame him, since the directions might not be entirely clear.

My guess is: Fruit salad: elves Pie: humans Porridge: dwarves Cookies: halflings At least I got the elves and dwarves right. 😅 It's obvious that the human testers like the human food best. 😁 I think I'll buy the book - although I hate cooking. 😅
