I use A55 for couple of months. I just love this phone. It's not the top on the line but give me everything i need and i wants. Good battery, Good Thermal, and Stable One UI 6.1

At under $400 I actually think the A55 is better value. I personally think the AI features currently available on phones are overhyped by manufacturers I don’t think majority of consumers really care or use most of it. If I were spending the money right now I’d go with the A55 and either pocket the savings or get some new headphones to pair with my new phone.

Tough call given the current price difference. $367 for the A55 isn't a bad deal actually right now. At $499 I do think the 8A is overpriced. I do think the 8A is the better phone though.

Hello from Australia,I got the pixel 8a a month ago and it's ok. Not quite as refined as one ui, which is strange because google is a software company, anyway,I found the cameras to be good, coming from the Samsung Galaxy s20 exynos,the cameras on the s20 were also good. The screen brightness is very good,aspecialy compared to the s20. I have had no issue at all with overheating, although,it is winter here in Australia. It's also a good size for me because I don't have large hands,so it kind of makes the a55 a deal breaker. It would have been nice if the 8a had gorilla glass 5 or 6 as the s20 from 4 years ago had a 6. I've also learned to be careful when tapping on a delete button because you might end up accidentally deleting more than you wanted to,just with a single tap😮. Very frustrating. Still,I guess that it's something that I'll just have to get used to. I'll probably switch back to Samsung next time round. It'll depend on how well this phone treats me i suppose.

i love the pixel 8a camera but they kinda negelcted built quality like gorilla glass 3 and plastic back for this price range? and the heat also is a factor to consider as the chip throttles and get warm. should have make it stable. it feels like a 7a but with 7 yrs of os updates

I would say if you want a cheaper midrange phone the OnePlus 12R definitely worth looking at as it's $400 with a trade in of any phone in any condition and you get a lot for that cash.

Here in the UK the A55 is on special offer with Samsung for £289 which i think is an absolute bargain really if you are wanting to buy outright. Its enough phone for 90% of people. The 8a is clearly a slightly better device in many ways i think has a nicer design, obviously faster OS updates, better camera with AI features and wireless charging. But buying outright much more expensive than the A55 here. Strangely though the plans for the 8a seem better value. Over 24 months with vodafone the 8a suddenly comes in at around the same price as the A55 and is considerably cheaper than the normal pixel 8 which a lot of people have been comparing it to. Depends what you want, i think they are both great depending on the deal you get.

Google 8a is the best mid range phone due to the cameras. Just buy it when it is at a lower price or when there is a good cash back,like in my country,its a $100 cash back or a $150 google voucher if u plan to buy google stuff in the future

I heard its bc of the software development over time with the older sensors in the 6a. Kinda also why iphone pics look weird without editting sometimes too, iphones rely on hardware, pixels software for pics.

I feel like you didn't do enough research for the A55. It has a glass back and metal frame. The display aint the same exactly as last year GG5 verses Gorilla glass victus plus.

The a series from pixel cant be a heavy used phone because the battery life isnt strong enough for it. If you use your phone alot go with the samsung. Until pixel puts abetter battery in the a series, faster charging its not worth it. I had the pixel 6a and i wanted to kick it, took so long to charge and would drain fast

Both phones takes the same time to charge lmao. Also the pixel is pretty new it needs some updates and then it will get pretty good.

@alexgreg152 the pixel charges at 18 watts with a 4000 mah battery. The a55 charges at 25 watts and has a 5000 watt battery. So the pixel is slower

@@joerosales6117 Bro, the Samsung charges in 1h43 minutes while the pixel charges in 1h40. Results i seen on dxomark for the Samsung and a multitude of others websites for the pixel 8a. And it's obvious that a smaller battery will charge faster than a bigger one so even if the charging speed of the 8a is lesser than the a55 (18w vs 25w) the bigger battery on the a55 it's his disadvantage.

Get a Motorola g84，it's around 400 aud. It jas 12 gb ram, 256gb rom, sd 695, 120hz 6.5 poled screen, 33w charging speed with charger and case in the box. Motorola's computer model is faster and more reliable than samsung dex.

Oh f*ck you, in Poland it's 1899zł (Samsung store) which is approximately 380 pounds. And your average salary is 50% higher than ours. Poland caught up in the last decades and in many ways I prefer my country to UK. But buying electronics is still very painfull for us. While generally everything is cheaper in Poland, electronics are more expensive for some reason. I'm gonna buy A55 but it will be a big expense for a broke as* student such as myself. I hope it's going to last 3-5 years.

@@simonthewatchguy6073 Thanks man, I was considering shipping it from abroad or buying from local resellers but Samsung provides us with 2 year warranty only if we buy from Polish distribution. Not to mention additional time and costs of shipment itself. Sadly UK is not even in the EU or European Economic Area so I'd have problems with any service for a device outside of European distribution. I also found an offer with free earbuds which makes it more worth it (I was gonna buy them anyway as new smartphones including a55 rarely have minijack port). But I appreciate the offer.

And the fact that UK is outside the European Economic Area, it complicates things even further if I ever wanted to service it. But thanks for the offer, I appreciate it. I found an offer in a big tech shop where they gave me free airbuds as an extra so it ain't that bad. But I'm still kinda mad at big tech companies like Samsung for ripping us off. The Tensor G3 is not at a flagship level ... even the SD7+ gen 2 from last year is twice the performance of Tensor G3.... and now we have SD8s gen 3 and still called midrange by Qualcomm themselve. Tensor Gx can't compete with any SoC in the market... it's a custom exynos !
